Numbers 09 :: Select Rows / Columns Of Tables Without Using Mouse?

In Excel, I can select entire rows or columns of data WITHIN TABLES--i.e., not selecting entire sheet rows or columns--by going to any cell on the perimeter of the table, holding down shift+ctrl, and clicking a direction arrow. So for example, if I have a table in columns D-G and rows 1-5, I can highlight row 4 by going to the first or last cell of that row, holding down the shift+ctrl, and hitting the appropriate direction arrow. You might think this is superfluous given that you can use the mouse to select cells. But that becomes cumbersome with large tables, and this method can be more efficient even with small tables.

Similarly, it's often useful to navigate tables, particularly large ones, by moving from any cell within the table to the end or beginning of that row or column by holding down ctrl and hitting the appropriate arrow key. In Excel, this ctrl+arrow key method also allows you to skip blank cells, which is another very useful navigational feature.

I tried numerous combos involving shift, ctrl, command, alt/option and the arrow keys. Haven't found a way to do any of this yet.

Numbers 09 :: Automatically Adding Rows To Tables That Reference Other Tables?
I have made a template with one sheet. The sheet has four separate tables. Table 2 references table 1 and Table 3 references 2 and table 4 is a "totals table" that references table 3. Is there a way to have rows automatically added to the other tables when one is manually added to table 1. I would like to make this as easy as possible for others to use.

Numbers 09 :: Splitting (not Cells Into Rows Or Columns) A Table?
I have a table with 500 rows. I would like to split it into 5 tables of 100 rows each at specific points where each new table creates. an easy way to do this without copying and pasting? I know I can split cells, but I want to split a table. The way I pull data from my work's server has me dropping data into a massive 10 to 20 thousand row table that takes me a long time to format.

Pages 09 :: Swapping Content Of Cells / Columns / Rows?
When using Pages '08, dragging and dropping cells, onto other cells in a table, resulted in the contents being swapped. Since upgrading to iWork '09, drag/drop writes over the cell/row/column that you drop it in and leaves the original cell/row/column blank.

To avoid things being written over,... I am currently having to add an empty row/column to temporarily drag data from row/column A to, so that I can then drag data from row/column B to row/column A, and then drag data from temporary row/column to row/column B.

Numbers 09 :: Copying Columns Of Data From Excel To Numbers?
I have an annoying problem by copying columns of data from Excel to Numbers. For example, if in Excel one column of data has 1100 numbers, and you click to choose this entire column, and copy it. Then when i open the Numbers, and choose "Blank" sheet, it only has 45 rows in default. And once I click to choose "paste", the copied data can only paste the first 45 in the Numbers. Also, if you have more than 1100 rows in Numbers by manually drag the bottom left icon, it will repeat to fill the rest of extra rows from the start. I don't quite understand why Numbers cannot do it like Excel, no matter how many rows your table has, just paste all of the copied data exactly. Is there anybody here who can help me out for this?

Numbers 09 :: Various AppleScript - Delete The First Two Rows
AppleScript. I am trying to write a script that automatically performs the following actions which I have to do regularly to a spreadsheet I get:

Delete the first two rows
alter the top row to be a title row
do three certain "search and replace" actions (replace "I1" by "1", case sensitive, full words only)
categorize and sort by two columns
set one certain column to "number" format
apply category sums to a certain column
Optionally: move some columns to a different position

I am now as far as this:

tell application "Numbers"
activate
set myDocName to name of document 1
tell document 1
tell sheet 1

I suspect that the next things I need have something to do with changing the properties of rows and columns, but I did not find an example of the necessary syntax.

I've been hunting for this since yesterday and I know it's gotta be something silly I'm just overlooking, but I'm very new to iWork and spreadsheets in general. Basically I've a simple table that tracks two items on each row: a trouble code and a time. What I need is a formula that will count all rows in which trouble code 5 occurred at 8pm. Numbers 09 :: Resize Rows To Fit Content?
Bringing a spreadsheet from Numbers on iPad to Numbers on Mac frequently results on all of the row heights becoming one line tall regardless of how it displayed on the iPad and regardless of how much text might be in a cell (and thus hidden by the resize). Based upon this I entered into a merry chase to work around this "feature" of Numbers iPad (bug)...

After doing some digging, it seems that the ability to use the "Resize Rows to Fit Content" command is not straight forward. "Resize Rows to Fit Content" will sometimes be active on a row OR a column selection depending upon the contents of the cells selected but which, if any is unpredictable. "Resize Columns to Fit Content" is similarly unpredictable and will be active frequently when not wanted and when"Resize Rows to Fit Content" is inactive.

Numbers 09 :: Scrolling With Header Rows Feature?
The Freeze Header Row feature should be corrected in a future update so that when you click in the scroll bar it pages forwards or backwards properly. Currently, four unseen rows are hidden behind the frozen header row. Example: the last visible row is 2357. Clicking in the scroll bar to jump ahead to the next page of rows. The first row under the header is now 2361. (Rows 2358 through 2360 are beneath the header.) The first row under the header should be 2358. This is unexpected behavior that could lead to mistakes if someone thinks they are paging through, reviewing all rows. In actuality, 4 rows go unreviewed for every jump forward.
