Numbers 09 :: Checking Account Template - Add Additional Selections To Dropdown Menu?
I am trying to make adjustments to the template so that it matches my needs. I have everything figured out except one thing. In the Catagory column there is a dropdown menu with the presets. How do I add additional selections to the dropdown menu?

Numbers 09 :: Editing Checking Account Template In Numbers
I just graduated from college and am just starting to pay off student loans. I want to use the checking account template, but I don't need a lot of the junk on it. I just want a simple way to track deposits and loan payments. I legitimately only use my checking account for loans, so I don't need to keep track of car payments, gas, food, and all that jazz. I am able to change the name of the account categories in the table at the top of the template, but it does not update the changes in the D column (labelled "category") of the actual transaction history. Is there a way to change the drop down options for column D to just Loans and Deposits? I looked through the help files on a way to change "categories," but all it did was redirect me to editing categories and sub categories. I think that a part of why I am having trouble is because it is so confusing to try to explain what it is I want to change. I've used Mac all my life, so I'm pretty confident that there is a way to change what I want without creating a table that fits my needs from scratch. Information: iMac Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Numbers 09 :: How To Change Categories In Checking Template?
I have tried to modify the checking account template to insert my own categories, but after modifying the category section the original categories continue to show up in the drop down menus. Numbers 09 :: Column A Menu Item In Checking Register Example
When a new row is added to the Checking Register example and typing begun in "Type" column of the example, a menu drops down to choose "DEP", "DEBIT CARD", etc. My question is: 1. How can other items be added to this menu? 2. How can this menu be created on another spreadsheet? I have searched for an answer in this forum but have not succeeded in finding one. Numbers 09 :: Checking Account Function - Learning Spreadsheet Working?
On a recent visit to the local Apple Store I was looking at the checking register template in Numbers '09. From what I could gather it appears to be a modified spreadsheet where you make entries a line at a time. I was hoping for something more like a regular account programs' write checks function. I have some spreadsheet experience but as for the wife she would probably have problems learning spreadsheet workings. Not that Apple's Numbers is bad, but are there any simple, and low cost, accounting programs that anyone could suggest. I've looked at QuickBooks and AccountEdge and they seem to be more business oriented and pricey. Information: Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Final Cut / DVD Studio :: How To Set "menu" To Return To 2nd Menu Scene Selections
I have a two page menu. 1. Title page. 2. Scene Selections page. Once we are on the 2nd page, I want the viewer to be able to return to this page when returning from viewing a selection. There is a button on Page 2 to get them back to the main menu if they like. Is there a way I can set the 1st menu page so that the viewer will return to it by pushing menu. And likewise, set the 2nd menu page so that the viewer will return to IT by pushing menu. So each page has a different 'menu' return setting? Pages 09 :: Cannot Get Dropdown Menu For Printer Options
No matter what the program, pages, keynotes, word, excel, etc. I cannot seem to get the 3rd drop down menu for my printer options. Most have 3 windows. First is the Printer option to select your printer, then is the Presets, and lastly, the window I am missing: The Copies & Pages drop down menu. This is a big issue not having it. Why I don't have this one drop down menu. I updated everything I could. From printer driver software, to apple software, anything I could find. Snow Leopard :: Screenshot Of Window With Dropdown Menu
I wonder if it is possible, using no third-party tools, to take a screenshot of a window like Finder's visualization options (cmd+J) with its dropdown menu active (text size, for example). I can take either the window or the menu (via cmd+shift+4+space) but not both together. I am working on a tutorial for a friend and it would save me quite some time if I didn't have to take 2 shots, then edit'em to save as a third and final file. Information: iMac 20 Mac OS X (10.6.2)

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Need To Scan With Twain But It Does Not Appear In Dropdown Menu
I have a new HP Photosmart 7510. It is possible to scan, if I use HP Scan 3 or the possibility in the printer and scanner driver menu. I habe installed the newest driver (3.3.3). In some applications (Acrobat X, GraphicConverter) I need to scan with TWAIN, but it is not possible to choose the scanner because it does not appear in the dropdown menu. Does any know, if it is generally possible to scan using TWAIN? Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Final Cut / DVD Studio :: Menu Play All & Chapter Selections?
I have a client requesting something that he has done with Adobe's DVD authoring system that I don't believe Studio Pro can do, but thought I would put it out there and maybe someone else has figured it out: He wants 2 menus (MAIN & SUB MENU) - Main would contain play all or chapter selection buttons. Play all button would start from the beginning and play all the way to the end without stopping. Chapter Selections would take you to a SUB MENU where you could select only certain sections...and here is where it's challenging... but after that specific selection (or chapter) is finished, that it return to the Sub Menu, rather than continuing on playing the rest of the movie. I have done such projects successfully; running time was short enough that it would allow me to make 2 Tracks. one with no chapter markers that would play all the way to the end, and the other with chapter markers indicating to jump back to a sub menu. Obviously this doubles the amount of data and it is not an option for this 95 minute program. Information: G5 1.6 Power PC 1.25 Memory

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Cannot Add Additional User
I just got a new OSX 10.7 Lion iMac Intel Desktop. Initially I created a user account for myself with admin rights. Now after some weeks, I am going back to System Preferences >> Users & Groups and trying to add an addtional user. However, the lock icon at the bottom of the window does not open when I click on it, and I cannot add, delete, or otherwise manage users. What do I need to get the lock to open so I can make changes and add an additional user? Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

OS X Tiger :: Mail Account Getting Stuck And Can't Stop From Checking For Emails
I'm using POP mail for all of my accounts. One particular account suddenly began acting strange last night. I've not touched the account since I first set it up. Last night, it was taking progressively longer and longer to check for emails and until it eventually stopped all together. Also, I'm getting "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)" messages and I can't cancel the connection to the mail server, so I have to force quit Mail. I'm having the same problems at home as I am at the office, which excludes my router. I'm also getting a network error, which excludes my email client and the two service providers for home and office, regardless of where the network error is. I've deleted all of the email from the account on the server, via my web mail account, and I'm still getting errors; Mail is jamming up on an email that isn't even there. Apparently, there's an email called: "Your Daily Mixx" (which is a known email source), but it's not on web mail and I can't cancel it. All of the emails that were on web mail were "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)" messages, but I normally get lots of email from all sorts of places, but there were no other emails of any other type, which is in itself strange. Pages 09 :: How To Add Chapter Numbers As Well As Page Numbers
I have a large text document with numbered pages. But I can't figure out how to keep those numbers sequential and add running chapter numbers (automatically) at the same time. Right now, I have to number the chapters manually. (At over 70 chapters, it becomes quite inconvenient to have to renumber them when adding or subtracting content.) Numbers 09 :: App Hanging When Choosing Template
When I open Numbers and choose one of the templates Numbers Hangs, I can only use numbers without choosing a template (e.g. opening an empty spreadsheet). The MacBook Pro is brand new (no previous iWorks on it) and came with Leopard and Update Disks for Snow which I immediately used I've also tried to fix the system with the install disk and I've run the software update utility. But the problem still exist. In Pages & Keynote I have no problem with templates. Information: Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.1)

I currently use Neo-Office at my place of work. I am considering changing to iWork (Numbers and Pages) but have a question. Currently with N.O. I am able to set the Template Directory (Path), which is something I need. The Managers share the Templates, thus I need the Template directory to exist in a common Place. Numbers 09 :: Finding Weight Loss Template?
Basically in Numbers '09 there is a weight loss template as I'm sure your all aware if you've ever scanned through the personal templates. Basically in the MET data there is a table for Walking and Running. I ideally want to know how to add additional tables for use. I've created my second table and populated it with all the correct information but I'm at a loose end as how to link this in with the main document so I can select it from the activity menu.
