MobileMe / Sync :: Aosnotifyd Request For Keychain Password And Expired Sharing Certificate - Renew?

I renewed my mobileme subscription on Sept. 15. Since the renewal, I get a aosnotifyd request for Keychain password every time my iMac wakes up from sleep. When I checked Keychain, I noticed that my Mobileme Sharing Certificate expired on Sept. 24, 2010. Why am I getting request for Keychain password for aosnotifyd? How do I renew sharing certificate?

MobileMe / Sync :: Cancelled - Dialog Box Continues To Request Username & Password
I recently had to cancel my MobileMe service, however a dialog box opens every 5-10 minutes that tells me my username and password are incorrect. How can I stop this from happening? I've gone into the MobileMe under System Preferences to clear out any stored information there. I've also gone into my Keychain Access and deleted anything that references MobileMe. I've removed all MobileMe calendars, email accounts, and contacts from my iPhone.

OS X Leopard :: Certificate In Keychain Access - Can't Select Certificate
I have obtained three certificates I have to use to access my corporate exchange server and imported them into the login keychain as directed. They do show up in the "certificates" category of the login keychain but not in the "my certificates" category. This is the category that Entourage looks for when allowing me to select a certificate. As a result, I can't select the certificate I need.

Intel Mac :: Why Can't Renew Apple-care Plan After The Initial Plan Has Expired
Bought my IMac a year ago, got the applecare plan and am good until 2014; however, it would be great if I could renew my applecare plan after the initial plan. or just before, the plan expires. The applecare staff is great to deal with, but it's a nice feeling to know that I can access them after the first 3 yrs. of ownership. I bought my IMac with the knowledge that I wouldn't need to upgrade my hardware as often as I did with a PC, and although I understand I can still recieve assistance on a case by case basis, it would be easier, and more cost effective, to have the option of extending my plan if I choose to. Just a thought. and am hoping that Apple will listen and offer something for its customers like this. Am an owner of the IMac, and IPad2, Ipod touch and will be buying an IPhone 5 when they are released.

MobileMe / Sync :: Use Keychain Access To Verify?
I go to sync. Am told that there is incorrect info in my MobileMe Preference Pane. I go to MM PF and password field is indeed empty. I enter it. Get the error message quoted below. But the password is accepted and relevant info is shown (still can't sync as the problem is repeated). There was a problem saving to your keychain. Please try again or use Keychain Access to verify your keychain. Error: -25299. This mean anything to anyone? I see nothing amiss in Keychain Access though I admit I 'm not positive what I should be looking for.

MobileMe / Sync :: Keychain Can't Retain Passwords
I am having a ton of issues with mobileme /keychain / mail. my mac suddenly started telling me there is a keychain error and i am using a wrong mobileme password. I have tried several fixes including repairing keychain, deleting keychain and generating a new one, unregistering all computers used for mobileme e.t.c nothing works. Interesting enough, if i unregister all of the macs, stop syncing and totally cut it off from mobileme, everything works fine. no mail or keychain error messages. As soon as I switch syncing back on, everything goes haywire. can someone tell me what is happening?

I have also scanned the keychain for errors without finding anything unusual. Does anyone know anything about this?

i tried to verify and repair the keychain, but it found no problems, so i tried to lock and unlock it, and boom! it doesn't unlock anymore, nothing happens when i click, mobile me now says my password is incorrect, and since it can't access the keychain it can't even accept a password. i tried rebuilding the permissions but nothing happened... i have time machine backups of the keychain so i am ok, but this situation is terrible... and online nobody seems to have a fix

Safari :: Keep Getting "certificate Expired" Errors
I'm running 10.6.8 on an Intel dual quad-core mac, 2.6ghz, tons of RAM.  Latest version of Safari.  And I am constantly getting that drop-down error message (at completely legitimate sites like Facebook, MSNBC, Amazon, etc) that says "certificate may be expired, do you want to cancel/continue/trust" - and I have no idea why.  It's happening with Firefox and Chrome as well, but I really prefer to stick with Safari if possible.

Date on my Mac is set properly, so that can't be the issue.  Security settings are at the Mac's default. I've tried emptying the cache and clearing history, reinstalling safari & its latest updates - nothing fixes the problem.  The same thing is happening on my Macbook Pro (which connects to the wifi), so I'm convinced that it's an errant software setting somewhere in Safari or my network settings.

MobileMe / Mail :: MobileMe Account Expired Message / Unable To Tick Bunch Of Emails And Delete Them
I received an email telling me that my MobileMe Account is expired so "To reactivate your account, log in to MobileMe, select Account, and click Reactivate."

I go to URL BUT I CAN'T FIND WHERE IT SAYS ACCOUNT SO I CAN'T CLICK TO REACTIVATE.

QUESTION: I travel a lot and I find mobile me mail to be extremely slow and clunky compared to hotmail or g-mail. Even when I am in the USA, MobileMe email is usually much more time and trouble than it is worth. I'm a long time mac user so I've kept MobileMe email as a back-up email account, but it has really been a pain in the *** ever since it came out. One hotmail.com feature that I miss with MobileMe email is that I am unable to tick a bunch of emails and delete them at one time. Instead I have to take the time to delete each one individually, with delays, mail errors and way too much time than this should take.

OS X Leopard :: Keychain Access And Association With Certificate
I hate to admit being less well-versed in the Keychain than I ought to be, but I just don't usually pay it much attention. I don't trust it with any of my really important passwords, but not for any real reason other than that I don't know enough to know how safe it is. I just got a couple certificates for a couple e-mail addresses through Thawte, and now find myself with several questions:

-How secure is the keychain that unlocks at login? Assuming that I have logged out, is there any way for someone who steals my laptop to get access to the stuff in that keychain? I would hope that resetting the account password would not also reset the keychain password!
-In Keychain Access, I see two public keys, both simply titled "Key from thawte site", with no other identifying information. The private keys are similarly titled, but seem to have an association with the certificate that has the email address as its name. How can I tell which public key goes with which private key?
-If I want to distribute my public keys to colleagues, on a web site or via email, how do I do that? It looks like I can export to a .pem file (the other options are grayed out) which contains an RSA Public Key block. Do I just email/upload that file, or the text, or what?

MobileMe / Sync :: Splitting Two Accounts And Sharing ICal Calendar
I sync several home computers and recently purchase a MacBookAir for my wife. I also registered it to my MobileMe account, at least to get all of our personal contacts. I now want to cut the cord (almost) because she registered her own Mobile Me account. Mail is easy, but it's the syncing of Contacts and iCal. My first step would be to change the account settings in the Air and she can delete all of my business contacts and business schedules. Currently, she turns on the Air and there are a bunch of new ToDo's etc. But, I would still like to share a Personal Calendar through iCal. Would I set up one and give her a subscription? I realize she couldn't edit it.

MobileMe / Sync :: Keychain - "access To This Item Is Restricted"
I have synced my keychains between three computer during about two years, both with .mac and MobileMe, under Tiger, and also under Leopard after upgrading from Tiger. But now, no matter what I try, I cannot get it to work anymore. The problem occurs after I clean install of Leopard on a new disk in my PowerMac, as well as on a brand new intel iMac. I tried it with 10.5.5, and gave up. Now I tried again with 10.5.6, and it is still the same. The problem: any item that is synced from another computer becomes unaccessible. If I try
to read the password, a window pops up saying "access to this item is restricted". If I click on the tab "access control", the box "Allow all applications to access this item" is checked, and furthermore there is an additional line saying "Access to this item is NOT restricted". All other keychain items (the ones that work) have the box "Confirm before allowing access". So I tried checking that box, and clicked "save changes". Then I go back to "Attributes" and once again I am prompted to save my changes. I click save, get no warning, but when I go back to "access control" nothing was changed.

I have tried keychain repair, but without success. I have also reset all my MobileMe syncing a few months ago after a few catastrophic events with both Calendar and keychain syncing. The former is now working again. Is there anyone who is succesfully syncing keychains between two Macs, with at least one cleanly installed version of Leopard? Since it works on upgrade installations, there must exist a fix, right? For me at least, this problem is 100% reproducible on two distinct computers, one ppc and one intel, so it is hard to believe that it has not been fixed yet...............

MobileMe / Restore :: Secure Certificates Expired - Cannot Create New
I just discovered that the secure certificate for my use of Back to My Mac expired several months ago. There was no warning from apple; you have to check in the Mobile Me account page under secure certificates. Go ahead; check if yours are okay. Well, it also says you create a new one by turning off Back to My Mac and then turning it back on. I tried that several times on both computers I have set up for that. It didn't work according to the certificate tab in the account page. I assume this means that Back to My Mac is insecure. How do I change that? It seems to me that this system is an invitation to criminal behavior; Apple should warn you if it's going to turn off security you think you have.
