MobileMe / Mail :: How To Delete Smart Mailbox But Keep Emails

In an attempt to better organize my mail, I set up Smart Mailboxes. Realizing that I wanted to keep a lot of these emails forever, I then set up rules. The rules are working much better for me, but the problem is that if I delete the message from the Smart Mailbox, it also deletes it from the folder in which is resides. I understand that SM are supposed to work this way, but knowing what I now know, I would like to get rid of them. Is there a way to delete the Smart Mailbox, but keep the contents that are in another folder?

MobileMe / Mail :: Smart Mailboxes: Can't Delete, Does Not Exist
I cannot delete 12 Smart Mailboxes. I've logged in and out of Mobile Me. Reset sync data. Unregistered the iMac and my MacBook Pro. Cleared all data on the sync.

I am now up to:

Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "Mailbox "(null)" does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist." does not exist.

Do you know how to fix this?

Please and thanks.

MobileMe / Mail :: MobileMe Account Expired Message / Unable To Tick Bunch Of Emails And Delete Them
I received an email telling me that my MobileMe Account is expired so "To reactivate your account, log in to MobileMe, select Account, and click Reactivate."

I go to URL BUT I CAN'T FIND WHERE IT SAYS ACCOUNT SO I CAN'T CLICK TO REACTIVATE.

QUESTION: I travel a lot and I find mobile me mail to be extremely slow and clunky compared to hotmail or g-mail. Even when I am in the USA, MobileMe email is usually much more time and trouble than it is worth. I'm a long time mac user so I've kept MobileMe email as a back-up email account, but it has really been a pain in the *** ever since it came out. One hotmail.com feature that I miss with MobileMe email is that I am unable to tick a bunch of emails and delete them at one time. Instead I have to take the time to delete each one individually, with delays, mail errors and way too much time than this should take.

MobileMe / Mail :: Delete Account Without Deleting Old Emails?
I've stopped paying for one of my two MobileMe accounts, trying to trim down. But I have thousands of old emails I want to keep. When I go to push the "-" button in the accounts pane, it warns me that I will also be deleting messages.

Is there a way to keep these? Can I just delete the account so it no longer checks it, but keep all those emails?

OS X Leopard :: Smart Mailbox For Junk Mail?
I'd like to set up a smart mailbox for mail flagged as Junk. I do NOT want the junk mail moved out of my inbox. I want it to stay in my inbox, but also show up in my newly created "Junk mail" Smart Mailbox. When creating a Smart Mailbox, I can't seem to find any option to filter by "flagged as junk". Is there any way to do this?If not, is there any way to sort my Inbox by "flagged as junk" so that all junk mail appears together and separate from non junk mail?

OS X Leopard :: Junk Mail Shows Up In Smart Mailbox?
When I create Smart Mailboxes in the Mail app, they work as expected, but they include junk mail as well. I find no setting to exclude spam mails. This makes it impossible to use Smart Mailboxes for me and is very frustrating

Is this a bug in Mail or something in my config that is messed up?

I'm using gmail IMAP by the way.

OS X Leopard :: Mail Consumes 100% CPU 'updating Smart Mailbox Counts' About 50% Of Time
I am no longer able to leave Mail running on my machine. It spends about 50% of the time "updating smart mailbox counts" (visible in the activity window). While it is doing this, it consumes 100% of a CPU according to "top" and makes my machine virtually unusable. What is particularly galling is that the results or always completely inaccurate. My "smart mailbox unread counts" are always wrong, not matter how long I leave Mail running. I am therefore forced to quit Mail whenever I've done a batch of e-mail reading, and re-launch it when I want to check mail. Often, Mail refuses to quit, and greys out the "quit" menu item forever. I then have to Force Quit it to get my machine back under control.

Any idea how to delete the mailbox? The deal is I set it up to an email that I cannot access via POP and it is constantly trying to access it but can't, obviously.

MobileMe / Sync :: Mail Preferences And Smart Mailboxes Not Syncing
I've been noticing that my laptop mail settings and smart mailboxes don't seem to be sync'd up with my desktop.

I had MobileMe configured to sync everything automatically. I even went so far as to turn of MobileMe syncing on both my desktop and laptop and allowed MobileMe to delete all the old stuff it had stored on it (Reset Sync Data). Then, on my laptop, I closed mail and deleted my Mail folder and com.apple.mail.plist preference file. On my desktop, I re-enabled automatic MobileMe syncing of everything and waited for the sync to finish towards MobileMe. On my laptop, I then re-enabled MobileMe syncing and told MobileMe system preferences to overwrite everything from my laptop that it was trying to sync from MobileMe. Once all that was done, I opened Mail on my laptop, waited for it to download all the mail from the server, but the preferences and smartmailbox settings were still different between the two.

While the sync from MobileMe to my laptop was going on, I had a Finder window open to my Preferences folder and saw the com.apple.mail.plist preference appear, so it certainly seems as though it was getting the data from the server, but why the settings and accounts weren't actually sync'd up is a mystery to me. It's almost as though the laptop was loading a cached preference file, but I'm not sure from where; the old preference file was deleted and the trash was emptied.

Am I doing something wrong here, or perhaps expecting MobileMe syncing to do something it's not acutally designed to do?

MobileMe / Mail :: Some Emails Never Send And Can Never Be Received
I have a friend who uses an university email account and gmail. We discovered sometime last year that when I send some emails to her she will never receive them. At all. I can look in my sent messages and the emails are there. So we assumed it was her problem.

However, I soon realized that certain emails she would send to me would never arrive to my mobileme address. She would cc'herself and she would receive the messages but I wouldn't.

So we started testing it. I would cc' my [URL] addy, my gmail addy and her addresses. Sometimes-- the email will never reach ANY Of the locations. If I send out another test email-- with different text-- we all receive the email.

Tonight, I attempted to send the same bit of text 5 different times and never received the text even to my [URL] addy that I had cc'ed. I had to log into gmail to send the message (of which I never received anything to my [URL]addy).

I am so paranoid now that I will be missing emails that I cc myself on most every message with the realization that if I did not get the cc the other person did not get my email at all.

Irritating, as it would be very useful for viewing, say, flagged messages from a mailing list in context.

Is there any way to select just one (or all) of the emails I have received and create a Smart Mailbox with a single menu selection? I have tried selecting one of them, then 'New Smart Mailbox...' bt it doesn't recognize I have a selection...or doesn't put the sender of the email nto the recipient field (which is the default criteria in a new Smart Mailbox'). If it doesn't now do this, hey, Apple, future feature?
