OS X :: Installing Photoshop CS And Dreamweaver MX 204 On Macbook Pro?
Sep 5, 2009I have a Macbook Pro. I have a copy of Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Adobe Photoshop CS that I would like to install on this machine. Both of these programs are backed up on an external harddisk.
I used to to have a copy of this Photoshop working on my mac, but a few months ago, it stopped working, and I haven't been able to get it up and running since.
Here are the specs of my Mac:
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
So far I have basically tried copying these programs onto my machine from the external disk, but with no success.
Is there anyone who might have any idea what is going on with these programs, and how I can get them working again my machine?

QuickTime :: 10 - Cannot Play FCE Exported MOV Files?
Apr 15, 2012I have edited several videos using Final Cut Express and exported them as .mov files to my desktop. Now, because I have a small internal hard drive (128GB SSD), I copy all of my raw footage to an external hard drive and then delete the files from my Mac HD. But, I keep the finished videos on my desktop. When I try to play the video while the hard drive is plugged in, QuickTime opens and plays the video just fine. But, when the external hard drive is NOT connected and I try to play the video (from my Mac HD), QuickTime won't open it nor play it. If I absolutely have to, I will carry the external HD around with me so I can play my videos, but I was just wondering if it had to do with the codec (H.264) my OS (10.6.8) QuickTime X or FCE (4.1).

Apr 16, 2012I'm having a problem viewing some .mov files due to a missing codec. A contractor delivered me video content from a recent event on an external hard drive. The files he sent me are .mov files that he exported from Final Cut Pro using a DVCPRO HD (720p60), linear PCM, Timecode codec. I want to be able to view these files through Quicktime on my machine, but I don't use FCP. I tried installing the Apple prores decoder, as another thread here seemed to indicate this might solve my issue, but when I ran the installer, it said a newer version fo the decoder was already installed on my machine. Is there any straightforward way to download/install the codec I need to view these files without shelling out for FCP?

MacBook Pro :: Report Crash Process Using Over 100 Percent Of CPU
Mar 28, 2012For the past few days my macbook pro (lion 10.7.3) has been overheating and the fan has been going crazy. In my processes, there is one called "report crash" that is consistently using between 50% and 180% of the CPU. I force quit it, but it just comes back straight away. I looked into my logs to see what is causing it and there seems to be a continual launch/crash cycle related to com.apple.midiserver, whatever that is. Does anyone have a clue why the midiserver is fighting to be launched ad infinitum and causing my mac to go berserk?

To get all my contacts to Google contacts I exported my contacts as a .vcard the only problem is it doesn't export their profile pictures. Does anyone know where address book stores the profile pictures? I tried to sync my contacts with Google via the preferences but they never synced so I just exported the contacts.

Motion 5 :: Exported Video Color Not The Same As Canvas
Jun 23, 2014When I export my project in Motion 5.1 using the default setting for Render: Color + Alpha, Premultiply alpha checked, and the rest of the setting set for "Use canvas setting" and the co-dec Pro Res 422 (HQ), the colors I see on the canvas come out as wash out looking in the exported video. Deep reds come out as light pink. I tried setting the project background (black) as solid instead of transparent thinking that that was the issue but there was no difference. I tried different co-decs and settings in the options before export without any luck.

Dec 8, 2014Video is coming out jittery - kind of stops and continues ever so slightly throughout movie. Project is set 1080 - imported video is from DSLR in 720. I "shared" the final video and chose "master" (default) to desktop - project is 182 GB ( I have not compressed in Compressor). I haven't even started doing some serious editing yet - I just wanted to see how the color/sharpness and clips in general look. I connected to my big screen TV to view but even on the Macbook Pro I get the same results. I have 500 gb space on internal drive and 1.5 TB on external drive.
Using a Macbook Pro 15" 2.2 GHz intel core i7 intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB card. Not sure if there are other settings affecting this situation.

Dec 27, 2007I do some website work on the side (my own site, weddings, and a few non-profits) never really for money, just for service in kinc or fun. I currently use 8, and have an opportuinity to pick up a super cheap copy of CS3 from a friend who is migrating back to Windows.
Is it worth $100? What are the new features. I was lead to believe it makes CSS layouts extremely managable and had some cool new stuff.

Every program I run works fine...I use parallels and remote connect to a pc all the time. No problems
When I open Dreamweaver to do simple edits and work I get a pinwheel that wont go away. Must force quit.
The rest of CS3 works just fine, I use photoshop and illustrator and have no trouble at all. Anyone have any guesses on what could be wrong?
Applications :: Odd Printing Glitch When Trying To Print PDF Exported From InDesign
Aug 24, 2010Does anyone have any idea what might be going on in the attached image below? This is how a PDF file exported from InDesign is printing. It is not displaying like this at all on the screen. The frame around the photo is an EPS file layered on top of the photo. It views fine, and prints fine except for 2 photos.
All the photos print fine, except for 2 of them which have these odd triangles on them. The image is a scan of the printed file. Again, it does not appear when I view the PDF on screen, only when it's printed. If I remove the border/EPS, it will print fine. But I'd like to use the border, so I'd like to know what the problem is.
OS X V10.7 Lion :: Keychain Access Won't Import Exported Keys
Feb 27, 2012I'm created a key-pair for use with our developer account and I need to transfer the keys (both public and private) to other development machines. The problem is that although the export of both keys appears to go fine, importing the key back into keychain access fails with a dialong saying "An error has occurred. Unable to import an item." This occurs for both the public and private key exported key files. Also, it happens with other public keys on my keychain and it happens with other users also running 10.7.3.Â

May 18, 2012I have started having trouble with PDFs in Safari this week. I can see them on screen, but if I try to save them by Save As command, I get a message saying it cannot be exported as a xxx.pdf. If I try doing it through the Print command, saving it as a PDF, the preview window shows a blank document. Something has fundamentally changed in the last week.

Final Cut Pro X :: MPEG Files Exported Aren't Readable On PC
Sep 7, 2014My FCP crashed last week and the only option left was to install OS 10 which enabled me to install the latest FCP. The 'update' thing didn't happen for me so I lost everything.Â
After redoing weeks of work, my plan was to return to my old system - exporting mpeg files in FCP and transferring them to my PC where I use Nero to make menus. This has always worked in the past. However, since updating OS X and FCP, any mpeg files aren't read via VLC on my PC. I have tried a whole array of export options (various codecs - H264/Apple Pro Res) but nothing works. I have tried to open the mpeg files on 2 computers but still no luck. Both computers have updated versions of VLC and Quicktime.Â
