MacBook Pro :: Mail Won't Open Jpeg Attachments?

On my MBP, sometimes I'll get emails with a few jpeg photos attached. It won't open all of them. Sometimes it will let me open and save 3 or 4 of them, but not the rest. Anyone know what's up? Any of the things I've tried (right clicking, clicking Save as, or attemtping to do a drag & drop into iphoto) doesn't work.

OS X Tiger :: Preview Won't Open Selected Jpeg / Couldn't Open The File
A colleage on a Mac sends me jpegs, but once in a while I cannot open them in Preview. I get this message:

Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn't recognize.

The originator, my colleague, attached the jpeg to an email to another colleague, who forwarded it to me. I saved it to disk in a couple of different ways and locations, but was unable to open it with Preview, Photoshop Elements, Adobe Reader, or iPhoto via import.

OS X Leopard :: Sending JPEG And General Attachments In Mail?
I'm having problems sending attachments using Mail. I have both "always send Windows friendly attachments" and "always insert attachments at end of message" ticked and I can send PDF files just fine. But as soon as I try to send a JPEG attachment, the file just becomes unreadable.

Is this just with JPEG format or is this for any picture file type?

It seems that no matter what method I try for attaching an actual JPEG file to an email in Mail, I end up sending the image, not the actual file. Is there a trick to doing this I have not found yet, or does Mail under Leopard only send images?

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Can't Open Pdf Attachments From Mail
When I'm in Mail and try to open or save to my computer and then open a pdf in Preview, I get an error message -"The file “Proposal to Seattle City Light - Wolverine Study 6Mar2012.pdf” could not be opened.  It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." This happens with all pdfs in Mail.  However, if I go to email account on the Internet and download the pdf it opens no problem. This is a new problem, though I can't say if it started happening as soon as I upgraded to Lion or if it happened sometime after (definitely not before).

I've tried sending attachments with Mac Mail, but once I've selected the file, it doesn't show anywhere in the message body, and isn't sending with the message.

I have been able to do this in the past, then it became an intermittent problem that resolved itself when I restarted. Now it's a permanent issue.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail 5.2 Won't Show Word Attachments Says Missing Plugin
Since I upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard, Mail has had glitches. I fixed one; the other remains: I can't see Word attachments in emails. The only hint is the message "Missing Plug-in". If I show the entire header, Mail provides buttons to Quickview the document or save it.The previous problem was that Mail wouldn't start up (kept quitting while doing the initial database migration) because I'd left in MailActOn as a plugin. So I removed plugins and the contents of ~/Library/Mail/Bundles. Now Mail works except for this.

I've read the apple support about asking the person to change to plain text etc and that doesn't work for me.

OS X Leopard :: Using Mail Attachments Iconizer - Unacceptable As Google Mail Disallowed Zip Files As Attachments
I recently changed my business E-mail client to Mac Mail 3.8 from Eudora. I was very surprised that Mac Mail could not attach a graphic file to an E-mail without actually embedding the file into the E-mail. Mac to Mac my clients could access the file as an attachment, but Mac to PC they could not. I was very surprised to find that the only solution Apple support showed was to compress the graphic file as a zip archive file. This solution is unacceptable as Google Mail disallowed zip files as attachments, and more than a handful of my clients use G-Mail. I found a third party plug-in solution offered by Loki software called Mail Attachments Iconizer [URL] which actually works to change the way Mac Mail handles graphic file attachments, so that PC users can access the attached file.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail Won't Open At All
I bought the 13-inch i5 Macbook Pro about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and it is Lion. Mail would crash, even when just opened. I have never sucessfully opened Mail on my computer. The mail didn't crash in the middle of reading emails, when I click the icon from the Applications folder, the dock would budge a bit but the Mail Icon would not appear. If I try to re-open Mail, the icon will bounce for a few seconds then do the 'Quiting' animation and sink back into the dock.

I tried these solutions, but none of them worked.

Deleting the files in the V2 folder in ~/Library/Mail

'Get Info' the Mail App and clicking the little lock thing on the bottom

Deleting all the things in Mail Folder

Use SpeedMail

OS X Leopard :: Mail Won't Open Or Load Messages
I am having the following problem with Mail.. When I open Mail from either the Dock or Finder nothing opens. Mail appears in the menu bar and the only way of viewing its normal screen is to go: Window > Message Viewer When it comes up no emails show or load and I simply get 'Loading' with the loading wheel when I select a specific email. I think this came around the same time that I updated to 10.5.7, but I am not sure if the two are related. If so, I updated via 'Software Update'.

However the recipient still sees the "exploded" attachment in the body of the mail

HOW do you send mail, so that the recipient sees the attachment/s as icons and then "double clicks" on them to open/view???
