I have a macBookPro mit Lion. Since I upgraded from SnowL I face serious problems with iPhoto, Email, Firefox, Internet and other software applications. After upgrading I had a iPhoto Library and an iPhoto Mediathek. Latter, I deleted and now I have always the same message: The Mediathek needs to be updated (even though I don´t have a mediathek but a Libaray). See pic:
If I do update the Mediathek, it comes up the window: iPhoto has inkontinences with the mediathek. Please repair. I press the repair button and afterwards nothing has changed but I have all images double and if I start iPhoto all over again, its the same procedure again.

I recently got a new hard drive put into my computer as the other one broke and I lost everything previously on my hard drive.Â
I now have a fresh hard drive and it had all of the regular things on it such as iCal, iTunes, Safari, Photo Booth (all of the things macs usually come with) but did not come with iPhoto so I can no longer upload photos onto my computer!!Â
I just opened iPhoto and found that when I click on an "Album" (menu to the left), it just opens up with full size images. It used to display thumbnails and I'd need to click on the image to open it into full size. Is there some option that I inadvertently adjusted to cause this change?
Yesterday I installed the latest update of iPhoto 9.2.3 on my MacBook pro running 10.7.3 To my surprise I cannot access iPhoto anymore and get the error log (as hereunder) and the warning that I may have to reinstall the application. I live quite remote and have to drive 1,5 hours to the nearest Apple store and i feel that I should be able to solve this.for now I do not understand how to reinstall if all software was updated.Â
Maybe going to Mavericks is a problem! Just went to 10.9.4,Â
I used to be able to "automatically" (click on icon in mail) to add/import a picture that was an attachment to an email I received in my inbox to iPhoto by one simple click on an icon in the header area of the mail.Â
I don't see any icon to do this any more. Is there a setting that I need to change?
Info: iPhoto '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), Mail 7.3
I just got my new MacBook Air about two weeks ago and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I can't view video on any site. I can view video on these same sites on my MBPro and my iMac, but not on here. I checked to see if I have the latest version of Quicktime
I need to upgrade update do whatever to this computer... its a MAC OS X 10.4.11 and its not updating anything anymore. i just need to be pointed in the right direction on how to fix this badboy. i cant afford to buy a new laptop and i really want to stick with MAC products.
So my mid 2010 Macbook pro won't read CD's anymore. When I put a cd into the tray, all it does it make some noises then spits it back out. I rarely use the cd drive actually. Whats the problem? Am I going to have to pay Apple 100's of dollars to get this fixed when I already spent more than $1000 on the macbook itself? Please say thats not the case.
I have a macbook and have been looking at macbook pro as I may upgrade. It doesn't look like any of the apple notebooks on the market now have DVD drives in them. Because if it is, it's not a good thing, in my opinion.
when I try to send a message to any contact, it says that contact is not registered. However, I can send him/her imessage from my iPhone. I have already tried to reinstall Os X, to sign in and sign out.
I have a 13" Macbook that, all of a sudden, cannot find my HP 4280 printer on my network. The Printer is plugged into my 21" iMac, and I'm using a Linksys router. I never had any trouble until recently, and when I open up the "Printers and Faxes" option in System Preferences, my printer isn't listed. When I click "add a printer", it's not there. I have cleared my printers and reset everything, but it hasn't fixed it. I can plug it in via USB and it recognizes it, but it won't find it via airport.
I bought this macbook pro about 2 months ago, and it was taking screen shots fine but now there is this one screenshot it wont let me delete, its annoying me so much sitting on my desktop, and i also cant take screen shots anymore.
Lately I have been unable to open PDFs from the internet. When I click it sends me to a blank internet tab. Sometimes I am able to control click and have the option to save the file in my downloads, then have to go back into finder to open the file. This is also the case when opening PDFs from emails. However there are some files on the internet that will not allow me that option. I have tried this in firefox, safari, and chrome. All are the same.Everything worked just fine until about 3 days ago.
I've always been able to burn CDs on my macbook pro until recently. Sometimes it will burn one cd and then I try to burn another and some of the songs will play on the cd but then the rest won't or the cd wont burn at all. I thought it might be the type of CD im using but i bought a different kind and tried them on other computers and the problem is definitely my computer.
I have in the past downloaded my movies from my Canon Legria FS21 movie camera. Now I went to download the movies and they won't.Â
I asked some Chinese people at the local Apple Shop, but their English is like my Chinese, good for general conversation but not for computer language. All I got out of them is that I can't download them.
The files in Finder show on the card as PRC001>MOV00A.MOD, MOV00A.MOI. The file name changes the last digit with each scene, but all have the MOD and MOI ending. Now I have no idea what that means. way of getting those movies into iMovie?Â
My Macbook pro will not play CDs/DVDs at all anymore. Every time I insert a CD or DVD it will accept it but then it will make odd noises and eject the CD/DVD. Is there anything I can do at home to try to solve it before I run to the apple store?
It used to work for me when i press a combination of Ctrl+F2 to activate the menu bar, now it doesn't work anymore, even if i try a further key: Fn+Ctrl+F2.
I'm new to this, but since today the screen of my Macbook doesn't get out of it's dimmed status anymore. Whether I'm on adapter or battery, no matter what I do or press, the screen is dimmed [like pressing F1 till it's on 0 notches, so when the screen seems off, but you can still see if you look hard].
Even if I adjust the brightness, I can see the notches going up, even full, it doesn't change anything to the brightness. I tried restarting multiple times, also with command-option-p-r to reset it, but no luck.
Does anyone have an idea what I can try to fix this? Any idea what the problem might be?
My external HD won't show up anymore on my desktop nor does it get listed in disc utilities. I tried to cennect it to another mac but it doesn't show there either nor in that mac's disc utility. I happened to re-start the computer while the hd was connected and now it doesn't show up anymore. I use it for back-up via Time machine. I could re-format and do the back up all over again but then I need to find it first.
When i got my macbook , it already had me as a contact and whenever i went on a sign in website it would auto fill the info for me but now it doesnt do that anymore. I have no clue why.
Haven't been able to drag and drop files anymore. What could be the cause? By the way, I have a Macbookpro 2.66GHz Intel Core Duo,4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 v.10.7.3
Info: MacBookPro 2.66GHz 4GB 1067MHz DDR3, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
I have recently had to re-install the operating system, but I can no longer remove items from the dock. I used to be able to drag items off but I can no longer do this. I have Snow Leopard Version 10.6.8. I have tried to repair permissions, but this has not changed anything
