MacBook Pro :: Why Is The Right Side Of Trackpad Physically Getting Stuck
Apr 7, 2012
Ok so I bought my MBP a couple of days ago. I've always used the center of my trackpad to do most of my clicking.
Today I went to go click the bottom right corner and it gets stuck, and not on the screen I mean literally stuck.
I have to click on the opposite side and then I hear a second "click" is anyone elses doing that or is a Manufacurer's error?I have taken good care of it! Now I can't understand why its doing that.
When typing, all that is coming out are the symbols that appear when pressing Option, as opposed to the letter pressed. It acts as if the option key is pressed down, but neither option key seems to be stuck.
The right side of my Late 2008 UniBody MacBook trackpad does not click. It used to click. Now, it takes a few clicks to "make it loose" and then it clicks. What could be the issue?
Also, I have noticed that the trackpad makes a "loose glass" noise sometimes. Almost like the glass is becoming loose from the trackpad.
I know this might sound a bit picky, but i recently bought my Macbook Pro and I cant help but realize that the trackpad is kind of off leveled on mine. The left side is leveled, but the in right side of the trackpad, there is a small gap. Is there anything I can do to push the trackpad up so it levels?
I've recently bough my brother's 2012 macbook air from him (not because of an issue, he just upgraded to a macbook pro and I needed a laptop for college). I've been using it for a few days with tap to click on, hence why I've only just noticed this. When attempting to highlight text I noticed that the trackpad dips down on the left side, I wouldn't highlight the problem on a purely aesthetic basis, however the slope is quite obviously affecting the click affection the left side.
Whenever I tap the right side of the trackpad to move the cursor or scroll, it makes this annoying clicking noise. It doesn't do this on the left side, only the right. Is there something that needs to be tightened? Can I do this myself or do I have to bring it in to an Apple store?
I have a two year old Macbook (lion os) , the on board Trackpad does not respond when I click in the lower left window to open an app. I have cold booted the system with no success.
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.2), launching an app via terminal.
I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook. This happened before, and now is doing it again. When I click or even tap to click, my MacBook acts like I am holding the button down. If I click in sons text it just keeps highlighting as I move, if I click the bachround it wants to just keep making a box. The only wY u can get it to stop is to hold down power till it shuts off. Everything else works like normal, but the MacBook acts like I am holding the button down.
Today the trackpad somehow managed to get stuck down, like it was permanently clicked and I wasn't able to really use it. I tried sliding paper through the edges to dislodge any foreign objects but that didn't help. After awhile it got better, but it's still not working right. It's not longer stuck completely down, and the trackpad is usable. However, it's not clicking all the way down like it should and it's very sensitive, sorta like it's halfway clicked. Are there any solutions to this or am I going to have to take it to an Apple store?
I can still make the cursor move and am able to get into System Preferences and go to the Trackpad settings, but I am unable to click the little checkbox that allows me to turn on "tap to click". If I had tap to click turned on I could use my computer as normal.
FYI - I am traveling, I have no spare mouse/trackpad, there are no mac stores anywhere near by, the battery is brand new, I have no tools to remove the battery, and I need this fixed by tomorrow morning.
MacBook trackpad not responding, and I'm stuck at the log-in screen. Completely useless when it's the week before finals and I have multiple papers due. Someone gave me a wireless mouse, but that still isn't working. I'm going to try and restart it yet again, but does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to take a trip to the Mac store, but if I have to, I will.
there is a file stuck in the side-bar at the finder window. Cannot get rid of it. Probably is a deleted file. Left clik or Right click doesn' t appear to do something except of showing the message "Open Sidebar Preferences".how can i throw it out?
This happens once or twice a day and is very annoying. I will be browsing on Firefox, for instance, and I will scroll down and for whatever reason, after that any click will be interpreted as a right click, bringing up the contextual menu. It does not happen when I'm using a wireless trackpad; only with the trackpad on the computer itself. It will fix itself after a few minutes, again with no reason.
I have trouble to right click on my Mac book pro trackpad. trackpad looks like got struck at the bottom right corner. However, left click is fine and rest of the operation is as well.
How do I "Physically" swap my hard drive from my old mac to my new macbook pro Mid 2012?I know how to swap them easily enough but when I do this I turn on the new mac and all I get is a "Circle with a line through it"
I got a macbook pro base model last year (2009 model) and my girlfriend just got a macbook base model last weekend (2010 model)Seems as though her macbook has better specs than mine... I'm also considering upgrading to Snow Leopard but don't really see the point. That inertia scroll thing hers does is pretty cool... other than that everything is pretty much the same to the naked eye after a few hours of use.
When i try to close the monitor of my MPB 13' it clicks in the hinge area like its sticking when i close it, i also feel tention which is released. It sounds like I am breaking it and it does it several times when I close it. When it is closed and I go to the back the black part of the hinge wiggles from side to side.
It's only today that I noticed my MacBook's right speaker is considerably louder than the one on the left. I opened Sound panel in System Preferences to see if the balance was off, but it was set at dead center. Then, I dragged the balance slider all the way to the left to see if the sound coming from the left speaker was okay at all. Well, it sure isn't. Very muffled, muddy sound. No highs at all. Dragging the slider to the right side reveals a very different sound texture. Very crisp, as it should be. Really weird. Anybody else experiencing this odd speaker behaviour?
I googled for this problem and found this thread, right here on Mac Forums. It's a thread for the MacBook Pros, though. The people with a MacBook Pro think it's because there's a subwoofer on the right side. Well, the MacBook doesn't have a subwoofer, so it can't be that. Any ideas? Is it repair time?
By the way, I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook, the 2,4GHz model.
I have my laptop hooked to my TV so I can watch shows on the internet. The screens were independent until my cat walked on the keyboard and now the two are showing the same screen. How do I change it back?
My mac laptops always bring up that annoying wireless network selection window upon opening, even when I'm connected through a physical cable. Is there any way to automatically turn the airport off when physically connected? This seems like something that should be easy...
Is there a way to find CPU details (socket) without physically looking inside machine? I have a Mac Pro 1,1 from 2006. I would like to upgrade CPU. How do I find compatible CPUs?
We have two Mac Laptops, 1 is the little white Macbook, the other MBP. We have DSL coming in and then thru a 2wire modem then thru the Airport. The 2 wire modem is connected to a PC. All of this sits about 40 feet from the bar where we use the laptops and is a straight shot.
My problem is that the the newer MBP is stuck in the mud when it comes to connecting, and then holding any type of signal strength with the wireless signal. The older little white MB works great, every bar on the wireless icon is black, on the other (as I type this they are both on and side by side..) only has one.
When pressing Alt/Option and clicking on the wireless icon the good computer shows a transmit rate of somewhere between 20 and 26 when I have checked it several times this morning, the bad one has never been above one.It seems for the price I paid for the Airport Ex. BOTH of these units should be getting full strength signals.Ever had this problem? No of any possible solutions? The fact that the slow one is my wife's machine doesn't make life any easierI figure before I make an Apple reservation I could do a little research myself.
I am attempting to edit two photos. My goal is to take the two photos and place the objects side by side so that both my daughters appear in the same photo.
Info:MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I need some sort of free program to take two pictures and put them side by side. It's a one time deal so I don't want to pay for it, I just have images of artwork and their respective placards that I'd like to be able to put side by side as one image so it's easier to follow. I know it sounds basic and probably dumb but I literally have zero experience with photo applications.
I'm looking for a comparison between all iMac processors. I believe that the only processors used for iMacs have been G5, Core Solo, Core duo, Core 2 Duo, Core i5 and Core i7. If I'm missing something let me know.
This seems an odd problem so I may be missing something -- but the connectors on my two Apple Cinema Displays will not plug into the card side by side. The plastic casing is just a tad too bulky, so you can't quite get the second connector in if the first plug is filled. It's the card that originally came with the computer, a Mac Pro 1,1.
I have Toast 6 Titanium from a LaCie drive I bought some time ago, and just got an EyeTV with Toast 8 basic. Is there anything in T8 that I might need, TT 6 seems to work fine. I keep reading that nothing much has changed after version as far as typical burning needs. I know that support for newer formats has been added with the later versions so I am asking is T8 even necessary having TT6?
