MacBook Pro :: Screen Colors Changed To Negative Appearance?

My son did something that changed my screen to a negative or x ray appearance. It is like that for everything. It's like the photo booth effect but all the time. How do I get back to normal?

OS X :: Screen Colors Shifted To X Ray / Negative Like?
It seems that in his nasty habit of taking naps while resting a body part on the keyboard, he has managed to press some obscure key combination that has inverted the colors on my screen (like a color photograph negative). I've searched everywhere to try to revert this, but had no luck so far. When I restart, and/or log out and back in again, the screen is normal during the booting sequence till I choose the account I want to log in with, then it immediatly goes into "x-ray" mode. If I choose another account, it will boot and log in with no screen problem whatsoever. So this must be either a preference option has been changed via keyboard command or the account is corrupted. Right?

MacBook Pro :: Negative Like Colors - Just Showing White With Purple Shadow
I have just installed my iWork 08' - got it for free at a friend - but as i opened Keynote for the first time, all colors were strange. It was like they were negative. The only color showing was white, with a purple shadow, and the sample pictures were almost invisible. The text in Pages was all white, even though the settings said black. Numbers didn't work either. I am about to start my High School career, so it is important that it works for adjust the colors, so they look normal instead of this. Just for the record, I have not changed anything. It was like this, when i installed it.

OS X Leopard :: Colors Inverse (negative) On One User Profile
I have an iMac that is on 10.5 with all updates applied and have used VNC to remote control it for some time without issue. Yesterday after one session, I went to the computer and the video on that screen is inverted for everything. The remote session using either screen sharing or chicken of the vnc looks fine. If I log into the iMac using a different user account, it looks fine and the login screen is fine, but as soon as the user profile settings are loaded, the colors go reverse, black is white, etc. I've looked into the color settings and screen settings and it looks fine, so I can only assume that there is a profile file that isn't being ready correctly. I do have a time machine backup and can grab whatever file or directories might be needed, but wasn't sure where to look.

Mac :: Macbook Pro Screen Turns Negative Randomly And Is Fixed When Tilt Screen?
After almost two years of ownership, my Macbook Pro is acting up. In the middle of using it, the screen image will turn into a negative image of what is on the screen without me doing anything, pushing buttons, etc. I can temporarily fix the problem by tilting the screen back or forth a little bit, and the screen returns to normal. This is now happening several times a day. Any idea what is causing it? A loose cable connection to the monitor? A video card issue?

OS X Leopard :: Icon Appearance Suddenly Changed?
On one of the 5 computers here, some of the application icons suddenly started changing from their "standard" appearance to a rather generic appearance. Those affected are all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Acrobat. Remaining application icons (Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), did not change. The affected computer is not the one I use, and the user didn't advise me of this for 2-3 weeks after it started happening, so I have no clue what she may have done to make these do this. Nor do I have a clue what to do to fix it.

I have to think there is some setting somewhere that she somehow changed, but what? Where? These kind of generic icons are harder to see than the "standard" icons we are used to seeing, which have more color and a more distinctive appearance. (In the old days of OS-9, a similar problem would sometimes happen, and rebuilding the desktop would usually fix it. This is the first time I've encountered this problem in OS-10.) I had done no updates to this computer for 3-4 weeks prior to this happening.

MacBook Pro :: Screen Breaking - Harsh Negative Color - Hardware?
I was just curious if anyone else had this problem. Only 2 days ago, when I lightly pushed my screen back to adjust the angle, it turned a very harsh negative color. Similar to when you push cntrl + option + cmmd + 8. But much harsher and more saturated colors. Obviously something isn't connecting right. Does anyone have a clue? My warranty expired just a bout 2 weeks ago. So I guess the Apple store is not an option at the moment. BROKEN: [URL] NEGATIVE (cntrl + option + cmmd + 8)[URL]

MacBook Pro :: Why Does Power-book Screen Go Negative Then Rain Pixels
My room mate turns on his computer and the screen is fine. After about 15 miuntes the screen image basically goes negative for a minute or so. After that little pixels begin to rain down until the entire screen is pixelated.  When it is pixelated I can use an external monitor to view my desktop perfectly, which eliminates the graphics card as the issue in my opinion.

OS X Tiger :: Sometimes Colors Changed To Dull On G5
This is in regard to my G5 Dual desktop. All of a sudden colors are dull, at least in some places. For example, the stock widget has green and red where it shows prices as being up or down. These have changed from bright green and red to dull green and red. On some web pages the colors of photos are dull and others normal. All the colors for Labels at the Finder level have gone dull. I have tried restarting, shutting down completely, checking and switching my monitor color profile, zapping the PRAM, and I've checked the settings in Universal Access -> Seeing which appear correct with Black on White selected and Contrast at Normal.

IWeb 09 :: Colors Changed And Typo In My Site
Since many years I have an iWeb built site at [URL]. I haven't been making any changes there for a long time. When yesterday I opened the Domain File, something quite extraordinary happened: The grey color of all the grey blocks on the left and right of my pages (they have to exactly match the color of the grey blocks in the background image) had changed - without myself having touched anything.

Even worse: The grey being shown by the iWeb editor has now to be chosen much darker than the grey of the background image in order to let it appear the same tone of grey when published in html. To say it clear - here, iWeb works as a What-You-See-Is-No-Longer-What-You-Get Editor - and this makes working with it nearly impossible. Also, the line spacing of the textblocks has changed - which makes them (again) appear differently in iWeb and in html. Do I really have to redesign the whole page with Dreamweaver, or is there a solution (and a reason) to that problem?

MacBook Pro :: Screen Showing Big Blocks Of Colors
I have had my Unibody Macbook Pro (2.4 Ghz - 4GB RAM) for a few months and everything has been great so far, except from a little backlight bleed. But yesterday a noticed something strange. I downloaded a wallpaper [URL] and then the screen showed some strange colors in the black areas. Like big blocks of colors. It seems like a problem with the gamma. I have downloaded a new color profile that does not show these strange colors - only when you make a selection on the desktop - that colors that area - then you can see it.

Most of my wallpapers does not show these problems, but I have tested it on a friends macbook pro, and it does not show up on his screen - only if you choose the profile "Wide Gamut RGB". I am really starting to worry. Is it a hardware issue, or can this be fixed easily? I have tried calibrating the screen, but these strange blocks of color are still there in the dark areas. The color profile I have used before also show these now. Even the default LCD color profile! I really wanted to show you an example, but on normal (calibrated) screens you cannot see it. Is the only option to reinstall osx?

MacBook :: Yellow Tint On Screen / Colors Of Screen Are Dark?
I have a late 2006 Macbook, and my dad has an early 2009 Macbook. I was comparing the two today and noticed that there was a significant difference between their LCDs. My dad's Macbook has a lighter, more normal display. While mine has a yellow tint to it and is darker. Both computers were on the same display profiles and both had the same brightness set.

Is this just how LCDs are as they age? Or is mine really not supposed to have that yellow tint? The new Macbook is on the right in the pic.

MacBook :: Screen Colors Faded (bluish Purple)
1. Today, I turned on my MacBook running 10.5.7 bought in the Summer of 2006 and the colors were washed out/faded. They were noticeably more bluish-purple. This is the third time it happened over the past year, so it is incredibly hard to replicate for a genius. A restart fixed the issue. I did not mess with the color schemes (I actually don't even know how to use them), nor have I dropped my laptop in the past three years I have owned it. Anyone know what is the issue here? I'm pretty sure it's hardware-related. I am concerned because my AppleCare is expiring this coming September, and I don't know how to replicate the problem.

2. Also, after a good period of nonuse, one-fourth of my screen (the lower left corner) is noticeably "darker" after I turn it on. The area goes back to its correct brightness after 10-15 minutes, like the screen has to warm up first. I've had this problem since I first purchased the unit but this dark spot has definitely gotten bigger. Is this normal for a laptop?

3. Coconut battery says that I have only gone through 4 battery cycles. I've calibrated the battery and the program still says the same thing. The battery I replaced quite a while ago did not have this problem.

MacBook Aluminum :: Wide Part Of Screen Displaying Different Colors
Has anyone with the horizontal lines resolved their issue? The right 1.4" wide part of my screen goes crazy, displaying different colors. Sometimes if I move the lid just right it will go away for a few minutes, but it comes back. Apples tells me ~$500 to put a new display in. I'm probably not going to do that. This machine is just 3 months out of warranty and cost a lot of money, by my standards. I have other laptops that are over 5 years old and the displays run great on them. I expect at least as good from this machine. I thought I was buying the highest quality laptop. It seems like it might be a bad cable, like a break in a wire that makes intermittent connection.

OS X :: Command, Control, Alt 8 Turns Screen Negative / Stop Working?
I saw this little "trick" command, control, alt, 8 in a Mac article a few weeks ago. It was nothing more than a cool, little screen alteration that makes the screen go negative. I tried it after first getting my Mac. Just this past week, I tried to do it again and it is not working. Not that it is a serious issue however it is more of a curiousity why it stopped. Did some application I installed on my machine cause this feature to halt? Just curious if anyone has the answer. I tried disabling Shades, Growl and even turned off my power settings to see if that was interfering.
