MacBook Pro :: Randomly Freezing Cursor?

I have a new 17" Macbook Pro - 2 weeks old. I noticed almost immediately that there was an issue with either the trackpad being unresponsive OR the computer.

the cursor freezes randomly - sometimes for a second, and sometimes for several seconds. I've been very conscious of how I'm tracking, I have everything turned off in the trackpad preferences.

MacBook Pro :: Cursor Was Freezing And The Entire MBP Freezing - Drop Down Menus Don't Highlight
It took 3 weeks for them to figure out why my cursor was freezing (and the entire MBP freezing) but finally they replaced the motherboard and I've got the MBP back.

However immediately I notice that the drop down menus don't highlight; and the DOCK magnifies but then "freezes" (i.e. it doesn't slide along with the cursor).

Is this any indication that the Mac still has a hardware issue? 10.6.4 and 4 gb RAM, 500 gb HD - I used my nearly 6 year old PBG4 for 3 weeks as backup and never had a single problem...

MacBook Pro :: Why Does Cursor Keep Freezing In Lion
My cursor freezes, and I'm not sure how to fix it or why it's occuring. It sometimes freezes when I'm in Safari, but, alas, I can't now recall if that is the only time it freezes. I'm using the 10.7.3 operating system and the latest Safari.

MacBook Pro :: Cursor Jumps Around Randomly / Can't Get Any Response From Trackpad
The trackpad/cursor on my Macbook Pro vs10.6.8acts stangely. Sometime the cursor jumps around randomly and can't get any response from the trackpad. The condition is getting worse and has about made the trackpad useless. I have tried using as wireless mouse and have had no problems whatsoever, which leads me to believe the problem is in fact in the trackpad/cursor; either the hardware or softeare associated with same.

MacBook Pro :: Randomly Started Freezing Up?
I don't get any spinning wheel of death or anything it just freezes & won't do a thing but the mouse still moves?! I'm having to turn it off at the wall 3 or 4 times a day which I'm sure can't be good for it but I don't understand what's caused it to start, the only thing iv installed lately was adobe reader but it does seem to occur more when I'm using an Internet application (either safari or connecting for software updates). Iv just sat for over an hour on logic with all manner of plugins going off without any issue

MacBook Pro :: 3 Months Old Laptop Freezing Randomly
In July I purchased a new MacBook Pro. Over the last three months my computer would randomly freeze and the fan would start to get very loud. This would happen randomly when I'm surfing the net or writing in word. I would try to force quit nothing would happen. I would have to restart the computer by pressing the power button. Recently this has been happening a lot. I did reset the computer by pressing the button and sometimes it even freezes on start up. I don't think its over heating because my computer is mostly used on my desk. I would call the USA hotline but I'm in France for the next three months. I would go to a French Apple store, but my French is not good enough to speak about this issue.

1. Is there a email address or online support for Mac?
2. Could this be a factory mistake?

MacBook Pro :: Freezing Up Randomly (20 Times Per Day)
I bought a MacBook Pro a few weeks ago about a week after they came out. It's the 13 inch 2.26GHz model. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed it freezing up randomly at times. I have heard that bluetooth keyboards and mouse devices may cause the problem, but I have disabled both and it still freezes up.

About 5 days ago, I ran TechTool Deluxe and it came up that the Video RAM failed, so I restarted, tested again and it didn't show the message again. I don't have that much programs open, probably Microsoft Word, Firefox, iTunes and Safari. I've also tried Disk Utility, nothing. It is getting very annoying and it happens just at random times and it happens about 20 times per day.

If I have to send this in for repair, I will be really disappointed. My first iMac had to be brought in for repair. My iPhone has been in for repair three times and I really am thinking Apple is just failing on me.

MacBook Pro :: Keeps Randomly Freezing, Shutting Down, And Beeping
I had been using it for about an hour without any problems when this started happening.  Ever since, I've been consistently having these issues.  It is a mid 2010 model. It also sometimes flashes weird glitchy images instead of booting up or starts flashing them while I am using it, and then shuts down.  Here's a quick video of what I'm talking about (it was showing even crazier images before I started recording it)[URL]

MacBook Pro :: 330m Freezing Randomly During Playing 3d Intensive Games?
I have a 2010 2.4ghz 15" Core i5 MacBook pro with the high res screen. Recently I noticed that the MBP may randomly freeze when 3D games are run under bootcamp. By random I mean ranging from 30 min to 2 hours into the game. The screen would distort into vertical lines and a buzzing/static noise could be heard coming from the speakers. However, I've also noticed that while the keyboard and mouse seem unresponsive, Skype calls would sometimes still be audible and connected despite the rest of the system freezing. I have yet to experience this in OS X as I rarely play any 3d game in OS X. I have updated both the OSX and Windows drivers to the latest version. The problem is persistent and happened in star craft 2 and red alert 3. What seems to be causing this?

MacBook Aluminum :: Computer Randomly Freezing Completely
It mostly does it when I move it however it also just randomly does it. I've tried testing each application individually to make sure its none of my applications. It completely freezes. The mouse doesn't move at all. I can also hear the computer still running for about a minute after it freezes but then it stops. I have to hold down the power button to get it to turn off. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and then hit the power button again. Sometimes it gets to the log in screen, sometimes it freezes again at the apple logo, sometimes it freezes at the blue screen right before the login screen comes up and sometimes it gets to the login screen and I put my password in and it freezes again, or sometimes I get halfway through my password and it freezes. I then shut it down again. Wait, again..and start it back up. It continues the same process 2-3 times. Sometimes upwards of 10 if I'm in a willing mood to deal with it.I've gone to an apple store 3 times(I believe) to see what the problem is..and obviously those times haven't worked.

However now I have started college and the closest Apple store is an hour and a half drive and I only have Sundays off, and thats if I don't have to do homework. In other words I don't have 3+ hours time to continue to take it to a store that the first 3 times didn't know what was wrong with it. The first time I went the guy said that it might be my machd he plugged an external harddrive to my computer and ran some sort of update. Said that it found a couple of problems with my computer and that it fixed them. The next guy said that it might be my harddrive. So he did a disk scan. Went block by block on my entire harddrive and it came up that nothing was wrong with it. So then he said that it might be my OS messing he re-installed my entire OS. The next guy said that it was probably corrupt fonts. So we checked all my fonts. Came up that two should be deleted..he was pretty sure that was my problem..and told me that if I kept having problems that I should delete all my fonts that have "problems" or show up as something to caution. Well I got home, and my computer continued to freeze. So I deleted those fonts..and it didn't work.

MacBook Aluminum :: CPU Randomly Increases To 100% Usage / Freezing
After using my macbook for the last eight months I haven't encountered any significant problems until now. For the past two days my CPU will randomly jump from 5% usage to 100% usage and will freeze after doing so. Other than a temperature monitor I downloaded after the problem started, I haven't added anything new to my computer. On average my system memory is at a 1.2/2.00 GB usage and I have close to 50 gigs free on my 150 gig hard drive. I've searched this problem and have tried everything people have suggested in the past. I attempted at turning off the "item info" on the desktop and unplugging my external hard drive that runs my TIme Machine. I also turned off the itunes graphics screensaver I was using, but doing that did not help. I'm up-to-date on my software updates, so I really don't know what it could be. I'm not running any new apps.

OS X :: Cursor Jumps And Clicks Randomly
My problem is that about every 15-20 minutes my cursor will start jumping around wildly and click randomly for a good 30 seconds then stop. Then I will get control of it again for about 5 seconds and it will just stop or give me trouble and then go back to the same thing. This goes on for a good couple minutes till the rainbow wheel of death comes and stays for a bit then I'm back to being okay. This happens repeatedly while I am on my computer. Which is a Macbook Pro. It happened mostly when I am on firefox which I deleted because it seemed to be the source of it for a while, but it would continue happening even after I got rid of it. I cleared my hard drive to see if that would help, but still nothing.

IMac Intel :: Cursor Randomly Goes To Screen Corners
Strange behavior of my cursor! It frequently and without apparent cause goes to a random screen corner when I am using my mouse. I notice that it only happens when I have my hand on the mouse, but there's no particular movement that I can tell that triggers it.I'm using the standard Apple wired keyboard and wired mouse that came with the iMac in the early 2006 Intel iMac 17" model. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.3, but this was a problem too when running 10.4.11.

It can happen in any application as far as I can tell. The cursor goes first to a screen border, then travels along the edge to the nearest corner where it stays until I move it back to where I was working. Lately it has been occurring more than once a minute when I'm using my mouse.

Safari :: MBP Freezing Up - Cannot Move Cursor Around Screen
I have a 2009 13 inch MBP with 4G of RAM. Its loaded with the current version of Snow Leopard, version 5.1.5 of Safari and version 4.5 0f the Mail App. The screen of the MBP freezes up 3 - 4 times per day. Ninety percent of the time Safari is open when this happens (some of the time, the Mail App is open as well. The remainder of the time I may have another browser open, but the Mail app is open.I can move the cursor around the screen and "force quit" any open applications except Mail and Safari when this happens. The icons for Safari and the Mail App in my Dock turn grey if I click on them. Otherwise the spinning pizza wheel shows up. I have to use the power button to turn off and restart the machine.

I have tried resetting the PRAM. I also got a couple of error messages concerning Hazel (v3.1.1) via Growl on one occasion. Simply stated that there was an error when Hazel started to run, checking .docx files for Music and video. (Hazel runs from startup and I have rules set up to remove partial and duplicate downloads and clear all Trash files within a set period). I uninstalled Hazel, but the freezing still occurs. The apps I have running most of the day are Mail, a browser, Omnifocus, Preview and either Pages or Word in Office for Mac 2011. I back up a couple of times a day using Time Machine and every couple of days update a copy of my hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.

IMac :: Started Freezing Randomly ?
I purchased a 24" iMac in fall of '07 and up until have had no problems at all. Let me describe the problems I'm having now and maybe someone can tell me what to do to remedy them.

A couple weeks ago it started freezing randomly. The mouse will switch to the beach ball and just spins endlessly. I can move it around but can't really do anything other than that. I have to do a hard reset to get it back to normal. Sometimes a couple programs are open, and sometimes none. It seems like it happens often when I quick switch from one user to another. It will switch, work for awhile, then freeze.

Now, no big deal, annoying, but whatever. But, the other day after doing a hard reset it revolted into a white screen with a flashing folder with a question mark. I did some research and found that I needed to repair the startup disc using the snow leopard disc. I did that and it allowed me to boot it back up normaly but didn't really solve the freeze up issue.

So, that just happened again, so I'll have to boot it up with the disc again and repair the startup disc when I get a chance. It's really beyond frustrating now.

I have repaired all permissions, updated all firmware, made sure the drive isn't full, pretty much everything short of backing up and wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS. Is that what I need ro do now? I mean, I know I need to, but is there something I can do to remedy until I can get around to doing that?

OS X Tiger :: Randomly Freezing Mouse And Keyboard
Not sure if this is a Tiger issue or hardware issue - but just recently my keyboard and mouse have started to freeze at random moments. It happens across the board regardless of the application or whether I am online or not. Sometimes I can fix it by banging the mouse, sometimes I can fix it by unplugging the USB cord and then reconnecting, and sometimes I have to reboot. It's driving me nuts. So, does anyone know if this might be a software glitch in Tiger or a case of needing a new keyboard and mouse?

OS X :: Tiger Randomly Skipping/stuttering/freezing?
Usually my G5 runs smooth as baby's behind but lately its been a bit jilted and has been freezing for a few seconds at seemingly random intervals.

I don't think it's a hardware problem, Windows seems to be working ok.

When I'm performing a simple task like typing in a URL or dragging a file to another location it will sometimes stop responding and give me the spinning beachball.

It doesn't stop running alltogether; iTunes for instace will keep playing during this period, and I can move the mouse around etc.

I notice it the most when I'm watching flash video like on youtube... the video - despite being completely loaded - will sometimes freeze and then resume a little further into the video. Very annoying.

I know this is a pretty broad problem but can anyone offer any advice? I havn't really done anything to it lately apart from install a security update.
