Jun 19, 2010I have an old IMac G3 graphite running 10.2.8 - I haven't turned it on in a couple of years and have no clue to what my password used to be - question #1 Do I have unlimited chance to try a password or is it going to lock up on me? and #2 are there any alternatives to resetting the admin password without the startup disk - I cant find the startup disk at the moment and have to use this computer before I am gonna get a chance to look for them.

Jun 25, 2012When trying to connect to my home wireless network, my computer doesn't recognize my network, or any network as being accessed before. It doesn't remember any networks. I even went into the advanced settings and made sure to check the box that makes it remember networks, and it still doesn't remember them. I am able to connect to my home network manually, but it will not automatically connect when I open the lid after it being closed, or when I turn off the wifi and turn it back on.

Also I have read the Mac website that I need to use the Code: If you don't remember the password and automatic login is turned off, you can reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X User Install disc. Because a user with the Mac OS X install disc can gain unrestricted access to your computer, you should keep the disc in a safe place. To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X disc:
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc and restart the computer.
2. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the spinning gear.
3. When the Installer appears, choose Utilities > Reset Password.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the password.
5. Quit the Installer and restart your computer while holding down the mouse button to eject the disc.
But didn't received any CDs from him so I don't know what version of CD I need it also I am new to macbook so its fully confusing please somebody help me how to reset my password.
