MacBook Pro :: No Connection To WiFi - Timeout Error

I'll try to connect to WiFi with my new MacBook PRO, but it does not work. I do receive a timeout after a couple of seconds. I've checked WiFi-connection with my PDA. Here it works.

Mac Mini :: Connection Timeout Via AirPort To WiFi Network
I have an early 2009 mac mini (10.5.7) that I want to connect via airport to my existing WiFi (b/g) network. The router is a Belkin Part # F5D7230-4 wireless g router. The network is setup with wpa security. My mac mini can recognize the network but when it tries to connect the wheel spins and then I get a "connection timeout" error. I know the network is fine. I have other macs and pcs that connect to it no problem.

I also know that the mac mini's hardware is fine. I took it into the Apple store and it connected without a problem to their networks. While there is a wall between the mini and the router, it is otherwise less than two feet from the router. I've tried playing with the router's channel settings, broadcasting on just g instead of mixed g/b, etc. The Apple genius told me it is probably because I'm not using an apple router. I don't buy that, given the whole point of the wireless standards is supposed to be compatibility.

MacBook Pro :: Keep Getting A "connection Timeout" Error
What seems to be on some kind of time schedule, my network connection times out.  The message "a connection timeout occured" is displayed, rendering my attempts at re-connection useless.  After hours of troubleshooting(my router included) and checking out other Mac forums, I have no solutions but to power cycle my router.  This pretty much makes my MB useless unless using a wired internet connection outside of my home network.  I've done tons of research online and have encountered hundreds of people with the same problem.  My machine is a late 2011 Macbook Pro.

MacBook Pro :: SD Card Error (Timeout -36) On Photo Transfer
I just talked my wife into buying a mac after 10 yrs of ranting how easy they are, she primarily uses it for photo's she shoot, majority weddings and ever since she got it we've had this problem were when she transfers files for SD card via USB port it errors in the beggining/middle or near the end of transfers. This happens with 100 photo's or 1000 no difference and then randomly at times it just works? any ideas as to what it causing this the cards are formatted on the NIKON D300 which is brand new as well. I can't format any other way because it has to be FAT32 for the camera to read.

MacBook Pro :: Frequently Losing Internet Access - Timeout Error?
I'm on a boat in Fiji, using a Vodafone wireless dongle, and keep losing my connection. My vodafone software and my apple network software show I'm still connected, but suddenly I can't get into another page, or if I'm downloading a software update, I get a message that I have a timeout error. I then disconnect my connection and re-connect and then things start happening again. However, I have not been able to stay active long enough to download my apple software updates which is really frustrating. It seems to happen more often when I'm downloading something sizeable, like a video or software update, but happens other times as well. I'm a mac novice, (bought this, my first mac about 10 months ago) and not terribly computer savvy to begin with. Looking through this forum, I'm confused by much of what I read, but I'm beginning to think this problem may be beyond my capacity to solve.

MacBook :: Wireless Network Connection Timeout?
I have a macbook 2.4.

I used to connect wirelessly through a router. I can't connect anymore with my macbook, I have a message "connection timeout" when I choose appropriate network and type the code (I tried both WPA and WEP). The thing is I can connect without any issue onto the same network using a pc.

I have also a partition with Windows vista on my macbook but still I can't go online.

OS X :: WEP Password Doesn't Work / Connection Timeout
So, this afternoon everything was fine until a few hours ago when the internet connection inexplicably started giving problems. Before that, I was just browsing on the web. I never messed with any network configurations.

I own an iMac 27" (Mac OS X version: 10.6.3) that keeps asking for a WEP password. I write it down but the only thing I get is a "Connection timeout" message.

I'm using a SMC router (ADSL 2 Barricade G) by the way. I understand WEP isn't the best choice, but the tecnhician said it was the only way to make all three computers have internet access. With WPA, the two Windows laptops had problems conecting. I changed the client to "No WEP/ No WAP" and every computer can connect to the internet. However, this isn't the desired solution for obvious reasons.

On the Mac, I removed the old network settings. I tried the $ (and 0x) trick but it didn't work. I also removed the old network passewords from the Keychain. I know the WEP password is right, because I used it on both Windows machines when I changed the client type back to WEP Only.

Since the SMC router doesn't display the WEP password, I'll download some password recovery software to find it out. I doubt this will work, but I'm running out of options. I'm not a tech guy.

MacBook Pro :: WiFi Connection Keeps Dropping Out
I have an old intel (early 08) MBPro that keeps losing connection to the network (run by TimeCapsule) if I'm a little bit too far from it, which is basically a one floor below it. However, I've been using a new unibody MBPro and the connection has been consistent and stable in the same place where my Early 08 MacBook Pro keeps dropping out. I always thought that it was the Time Capsule that had an unstable connection, but now it turns out that my older MBPro is probably having issues. It has the latest updates and in good condition. My question is, what's wrong with my Early 08 MB Pro? Any stronger WiFi hardware the Unibody MBPro has that my Early08 doesn't have?

MacBook Pro :: Wifi Connection Dropping Out?
I am having an issue with wifi connections crashing everywhere I go. I googled it and saw that it was a common issue, but couldn't really find a solution. I know it is because of the macbook, because when I use my dell, wifi works fine with no complications the whole time it is being used. But when i use the MBP, I am able to use it for about 20 minutes it would flake out and i would look at my router and the lights would be red, showing it being disconnected, and id have to wait til lights on router would go back to solid green. I have the 2wire router/modem that comes with at&t DSL service.

MacBook Pro :: WiFi Dropping Connection In OS X But Not In Win7
I have a 17" Unibody MacBook Pro which is about 2 months old; which I use on several WiFi networks (home and several different networks at work). I also bootcamp the mac with Snowleopard and Windows 7 (64bit). When running Snowleopard, the WiFi connection will periodically drop and then reconnect (sometimes it will be steady for 20-30 minutes, other times it drops every couple of minutes).

Sometimes it will refuse to reconnect until airport has been turned off and then back on. The strange thing is, when booted into Windows 7, the connection never drops. It will run solidly for hour after hour with no problems what so ever; on the same WiFi networks that Snow Leopard is constantly losing connecting to. I have all the latest updates installed so not really sure what I can do.

MacBook Pro :: WiFi Bandwidth - 144Mbit Connection
I have a 80Mbit cable connection and a Netgear WNDR3700 n band router. Using my ISP's speed test, my desktop achieves the full 80 on the lan, my sons n band compaq laptop can achieve 70+ from his bedroom (thick walls), but my MacBook Pro caps at 20! When I open the airport config on the mac, it says the it is a 144Mbit connection which seems a bit of a strange number to me and yes it does have the n band compatibility indication in the config. Placing the laptop next to the router makes no difference. Plug in a cable and it full speed. There are no other 5G routers in the area, on 2.4 I am the only one on channel 1 and the nearest is 6 for that eliminates the 3 band overlap. I have tied switching off the 2.4 network and the 5G network alternately. - no difference. The MBP is mid 2009 running snow leopard.

After those changes made it seems I can not open any websites through my wifi connection. OS X Leopard :: Timeout Error When Transferring Mails To IMAP
Apple Mail Version 3.5 (930.3) Connected to an Exchange Server, using IMAP folders.

1. I can't move Mails from my inbox directly to IMAP folders, after some research online this seems to be a known problem. Setting the "IMAP path preference" didn't change this. I have to transfer them to a local Folder and then to an IMAP folder.

2. Much more importantly, I can't move Mails with attachments bigger than about 1.6MB, it gives a timeout error on port 143. Online research seems to indicate that there is no way to remove/change timeout timelimits in apple mail? We also checked with the exchange server, there is no timelimit set and turning off the virus scanner didn't solve this.

3. Apple Mail decides not to show me attachments I sent. It shows the paper-clip in the list but there's no attachment in the mail. This behaviour is consistent throughout my own sent folder to the local folders to the IMAP folders. Other people however can still see them.

MacBook Pro :: Dropping WiFi Connection And Rejoin On System Restart
I'm using a mid-2010 core i7 MacBook Pro and I've had an issue which has popped up in the past couple of week. When on a wireless network (any wireless network, same thing happens with different routers etc) my mac will just disconnect from the network. When I attempt to rejoin it will prompt me for the password, but then fails to connect. If I turn airport off it will not let me turn it back on again, the options is there but when I click it it does nothing. I then restart my Mac, but on boot up it freezes after the chime. I then have to manually turn the power off and turn the computer back on, which now loads up perfectly and instantly joins the WiFi network. This is majorly frustrating as I use my MacBook as my main computer at home and in the lab.

MacBook Pro :: Repeated WiFi Timeouts With Home Network Connection
All day, I am able to use the internet (via WiFi connection) at the library. But when I get home, I can't connect to my home WiFi connection. This was never an issue before. I have done all of the obvious things (resetting my router, clearing saved connections from my computer and joining a 'new' network, check and installed all updates, etc etc), but nothing seems to work. All the other devices in our house are connected to the WiFi just fine.

I run the diagnostic and I'm only green on WiFi and WiFi settings, with network settings and ISP fluctuating between yellow and red, and internet and server is always red. I have tried DHCP Lease renewel (which usually does the trick when I am getting an invalid IP address (169.xxx.x.x) until I get a valid one (192.xxx.x.x). But now sometimes I'm not even getting an IP at all!All I wanna do is unwind, check/reply to emails just surf the web to decompress after my long days.

Since I've encountered some problems with backups because of intermittent wifi connection failures, I want to switch to a wired connection with an ethernet cable. I know I could fiddle with the wifi channels etc. but since the TC is just sitting next to my iMac anyway, I could profit from the higher bandwidth of a wired connection as well. Two questions:

1. What exactly do I have to do to make the switch? Are there any new settings I have to apply? Create a new network?

2. Will I still be able to use the wifi connection to get on the internet using my smartphone?

OS X Leopard :: Can't Connect To Wireless Network "connection Timeout"
I saw a similar thread, but I decided to post this in its own thread, because my problem isn't Airport-related, as is the one posted in the other thread. I have an Airport base station at home, and there have been no problems there. However, since upgrading to Leopard, I am no longer able to connect to the free Wi-Fi that is provided at work, by my employer. Every time I try, I get a "connection timeout" error. Other people are still able to connect to this network just fine, and nothing has changed there. My system seems to be the only thing that has changed, so logically, this appears to be a problem with Leopard.

I tried using the network diagnostic tool, to see if I could figure it out, and I got a message that says that my network password is invalid, which is strange indeed, because it is an open network, and no password is required to access it!
