MacBook Pro :: My Wireless Apple Mouse Randomly Disconnects While I'm Using It

Brand new batteries. I'll be sitting there using it, and it just stops responding. The computer still shows that the mouse is connected, but I have to go with the track pad and disconnect, then reconnect it again. Then it works. It's not a big deal unless I'm gaming.

MacBook Aluminum :: Wireless Randomly Disconnects And Reconnects
I've had my Macbook (13" aluminum, 2.0 processor) since March 2009, and I've been having issues with the wireless since last week. It seems to disconnect after 20-30 minutes and then automatically reconnects for another 10-15 and then disconnects again. It isn't an issue of our wireless source or router as we have another laptop in the house that stays connected just fine without interruption.

MacBook Pro :: Wireless Connection Just Drop - Bluetooth Mouse Disconnects
I have a 2 month old MBP - the high-end 15", Core i7, etc. I have been using Macs for many, many years.

Problem 1. Airport. I'll be in a wireless connection, and it will just drop. The airport icon in the top bar will go from 5 bars to blank. I need to turn airport off and back on again to reconnect. Sometimes this happens several times a day. Sometimes it does not happen for many days. Very intermittent and completely unpredictable.

Problem 2. Bluetooth. I use the Magic Mouse. Every so often it just disconnects during use. I'll literally be moving my cursor and it will stop. The "Disconnected" ghost appears on the screen, followed immediately by "Connected". Again, very random, and very intermittent (yes, I know - it could be the mouse, not the Mac).

Problem 3. Spaces. I run with 4 spaces. If I minimize an app in (for example) space 1, move to space 2, do some work, move back to space 1 and bring up the minimized app, rather than stay in space 1 (which is what it should do) it brings up the app and moves me back to space 2. This is also not consistently reproduceable. Most of the time, it works as it is supposed to work.

This is the most expensive Mac I have purchased in my many years as a Mac user. This is the first Mac I have ever had so many negative experiences with.

Mac Bluetooth :: Mighty Mouse Randomly Disconnects
I have an iMac and while the wireless keyboard works, the mighty mouse simply disconnects once every 5 minutes or so. It just stops communicating with the computer and I have to go through the process of reconnecting it. Sometimes the mouse shuts off and simply will not power up. This happens, I think, more frequently when the computer is coming out of sleep mode, but it happens regularly even after I have just powered on or restarted. I had the mouse replaced and for a while the new mouse was working perfectly, but after a month it too started randomly disconnecting.

MacBook Pro :: Wireless Airport Disconnects And Won't Turn Back On?
For the last month I've had issues with my Airport. It randomly turns off and when I try to connect back to Airport is won't turn on unless I reset my computer. I have tried resetting the RAM and taking out the battery but nothing seems to work. I try to put my password in to connect and it always says timed out. I use an Apple Express Router but that seems to work fine.

My internet is fine it's just my Airport seems to want to do it's own thing. What should I do? It's very frustrating.

MacBook Pro :: System Randomly Disconnects Usb Device / Port Fails To Recognize IPhone
I have had several issues with the USB on my brand-new Core i5 macbook pro. It randomly disconnects USB devices. I've had the issue with multiple USB devices - same story with each one. Further, iTunes will only recognize my iPhone if it is in the port nearest the magsafe connector. The other port fails to recognize my iPhone entirely. Anyone else having a USB issue on their base 15" that was released today?

Furthermore, any suggestions of what to do about it? I'm having a hell of a time restoring my iPhone with this issue... And the Apple Store is over an hour away-I planned a special trip to buy this laptop.

Hardware :: First Look - Apple's Wireless - Multitouch Magic Mouse
Apple has broken its decade-long chain of terrible mouse designs with the new multitouch, wireless Magic Mouse, although its multitouch features are somewhat limited in functionality. If previous versions of Apple's Bluetooth wireless mice and the sticky trackball of the Mighty Mouse have left you skeptical of the company's ability to design a desirable mouse, you may be in for a surprise with the new Magic Mouse. There's no real magic; just a highly accurate laser optical mouse paired with a hard plastic, multitouch surface that supports smooth document scrolling, right clicking, screen zoom, and two finger swipes. Given that Apple has pioneered practical applications of multitouch technologies in consumer products, you might have high hopes for the new mouse's multitouch surface. While scrolling up and down and left and right is smooth and satisfying, the surface of the mouse isn't big enough to act like a trackpad, so don't expect it to act like one.

Unlike Apple's multitouch trackpads, there's no provisions for touching to click (which makes little sense on a mouse), or for fancy gestures like four finger expose. You'd be hard pressed to even get four fingers in contact with the mouse's surface at once. Instead of trying to make a mouse with a conventional trackpad surface, Apple has delivered a usable Mighty Mouse that primarily uses touch sensitivity in place of a scroll ball. Touch to scroll This part works very well; there's no small ball to target, so you can freely move your fingers anywhere on the surface to scroll within documents. You can even scroll by touch without the mouse making any contact on a surface. There's also an option for scrolling with momentum, which provides a little scrolling inertia when you flick, similar to the iPhone. Scrolling within documents or menus (such as the slides list in Keynote) seems appropriately accelerated at the default speed setting. However, trying to scroll within Cover Flow requires subtle finger action, because the touch surface is tremendously sensitive (and Cover Flow exaggerates this sensitivity). Your first attempt to scroll in iTunes will likely whip you through a couple hundred albums. With some practice and patience, you'll be able to scroll album by album with finger motions that seem almost imperceptible......

I bought the laptop in May of this year for its age reference. I've started experiencing this problem about two months ago. Every time I try to play an online video (regardless of source), my computer will experience at least some kind of frozen state. The video will eventually play fine, but before it does, I usually have to wait for my system to un-freeze for about a minute or so. Hardware :: Apple Wireless Keyboard Randomly Stops Working?
My Apple Wireless Keyboard is haunted. It will randomly, in the middle of sentences, or sometimes after I haven't used in a few minutes, stop responding.

The really weird part? I open System Prefs, click Bluetooth, and viola! It works again. I don't have to do anything - just open the Bluetooth prefs. As soon as I do, everything I've typed since it went dead (usually just a word or two) is actually output into the search box in Systems Prefs.

There is no rhyme or reason to this weirdness. Sometimes it will literally happen a few times an hour for days (which drives me up the wall); sometimes it'll go months without doing it. When it's doing it a lot, no amount of rebooting/relogging-in fixes it. One thing I have not tried is using a fresh user account (or Guest), because it's so unpredictable... even on my own account it will take a break and work normally for a few hours, then go right back to freaking out.

The fact that it stores everything I type when it's "not working" is the really weird part. It's like the OS is receiving the data but just forgetting to process it until I poke it and remind it, "you have stuff coming in via Bluetooth, wake up and do something with it!"

MacBook :: Bluetooth - Keyboard & Mouse Disconnects?
I've found many different explanations to why bluetooth on my Macbook would 'overheat' and then disconnect from all devices, only to show 'Bluetooth Not Responding'.

I was wondering if anyone has found a fix to this problem. I'm current on all updates running Snow Leopard. Normally, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse works for up to 5 minutes or so, but then loses its connection until it 'cools down' and then this process just repeats. The laptop is currently on a cooling fan and rarely needs the internal fan to even kick on so not sure what else to do.

IMac :: External USB Drive Disconnects Randomly
I have had my new iMac 21.5" for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday I picked up a 500 GB LaCie USB Drive to be used for my Time Machine drive. I have the drive connected directly to a usb port on the iMac. Sometimes when the iMac goes to sleep, when I wake up the iMac I get the dreaded "This Drive Has Not Been Disconnected Properly" warning.

I have made sure that the "Put Hard Disk(s) to Sleep Whenever Possible" option is not selected under the Energy Preferences. I have tried multiple usb ports, same issue. This isn't a constant issue, it just happens sometimes. Is there anyway to tell Time Machine to mount and unmount my drive when needed?

PowerPC :: Ethernet Not Working Properly - Randomly Connects / Disconnects
I've been having problems staying connected on my Powerbook G4. The wireless works perfectly but the ethernet does not. I've been using the dorm ethernet jack to connect. The problem is that my computer can't maintain a consistent connection through ethernet so it randomly connects and disconnects. I called my campus' IT department and they told me that it must be my computer because they're system said that it didn't detect my computers IP address. I called Applecare and the person told me that it must be something wrong with either the network card or the ethernet port. Anyway, he gives me a case number so I can go get a repair. Unfortunately an Apple Store is far away from where my school is so I went to my school's bookstore instead.

The bookstore is an authorized service place. I drop the computer off to them and they sent it to Apple. I got a call today from the bookstore guy saying that the Apple technicians discovered that "liquid" had gotten into the motherboard and refused to service my computer. I was really angry when I heard this because I keep absolute care of my laptop. I know for a fact that no water has ever been around my laptop. I'm guessing it must have been negligence on the bookstore's part. I declined the $1300+ repair estimate so now its on its way back to me. I have a brother that works at the Apple Store and he just suggested going directly to an Apple Store this time. Will they just refuse warranty repair again?

MacBook :: Wireless Keyboard Slow / Disconnects When CPU High?
1x Macbook 2.4Ghz, 4Gig RAM. December 08 model.

1x 24" monitor connected via DVI connector

1x USB mouse

1x mac wireless keyboard (was used on iMac 21.5" new 2010 model)

Latest version of Snow Leopard, patched to the latest on everything. Software update says that everything is up to date.

I've unregistered the keyboard with the iMac and associated it with the Macbook. I'm typing this message with the wireless keyboard no problems.

This is where the problem comes in, when I start up for example MacTheRipper, or Handbrake. Essentially any tool that kicks the CPU into overdrive the keyboard starts acting strangely.

Typing will go to a crawl, it takes longer for the letters to appear, as if in slow motion. It will popup the keyboard disconnect and reconnect image every once in a while and if I leave the keyboard for a while it will disconnect from bluetooth completely, when I then try to reconnect by tapping a key it doesn't connect for sometime. Even if I hold the key down for several seconds.

Once the program has completed processing and the CPU drops back down to nothing, the keyboard works just fine again.

OS X :: Bluetooth: Apple Wireless Keyboard, And Magic Mouse?
I was thinking of purchasing an Apple Wireless Keyboard, and an Apple Magic Mouse. I'm absolutely sure it'll be a wise investment, and an awesome Christmas gift. My current Mighty Mouse is quite horrible, I don't even have the ability to scroll up. Of course I don't bother to waste my time cleaning it. Oh well, they don't have a scroll bar for nothing.

The only problem is that I'm not sure if my Mac has the proper capabilities to enable usage for the wireless perpherials I'm planning to buy. This is somewhat how my Mac looks, though I'm running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (I purchased the disk). I believe my computer has Bluetooth, there's an Icon for it in System Preferences. In my System Profiler, it also has a Bluetooth tab (here's the information is shows, I just cropped out some info. at the top, and my name).

How do I know if my Mac is set for these two items?Looking forward to your responses.
