MacBook Pro :: How To Disable Trackpad Pinch Zoom

I just bought a 17" MacBook Pro Unibody, I was very happy with it at first. Unfortunately whenever I use Safari the trackpad thinks I am trying to zoom in on the page, but I am not. How do I turn this off, in the control panel it just shows a video of how to do it. I have watched myself use the trackpad and I am not pinching the trackpad, I am trying to scroll down but instead it zooms, all the time. Is there anyway to turn this off, if not I'm just going to return this computer.

MacBook Pro :: Turn Off Trackpad Pinch Open / Close Feature?
Is there a way to disable the pinch open and close feature on a MBP trackpad? I swear, its going to put me in therapy. Every time I need to scroll through massive spreadsheets for work, if my fingers separate by even a hair, the trackpad reads it as a pinch, then the document suddenly balloons to massive proportion or shrinks to infinitesimally tiny print. Seems there ought to be a simple way to turn the thing off, but for the life of me, I cant find it.

Safari :: When I Pinch-to-zoom In It Sometimes Buttons Become Improperly Displayed
I have noticed an issue with Safari's Pinch-To-Zoom feature. When I zoom in on a website containing specific types of buttons, the buttons appear to become full of question marks or something, instead of the button. As far as I can tell, the types of buttons that do this are ones like "Login" buttons, and others.Since I don't know how exaclty to word the description of the buttons, here are examples of them:

[url]...

When I go here, and zoom in, the buttons by the search input are distorted. This is not specific to wikipedia, because it happens with other buttons like with the kind of glossy look in safari, that become looking like:when I zoom in.

MacBook Pro :: Trackpad Zoom Won't Turn Off
I find the two finger zoom option on the trackpad very annoying so I went to the system pref to trackpad and I turned off the two finger zoom option. But it won't turn off.

Now when I'm using the trackpad, and my two fingers move apart on the pad, at the same time, the image (in this case a text document) zooms out and increases in size.

I don't want that! How can I turn off this trackpad zoom feature beyond what I've already done? i.e. turning off that option in the system prefs.

Logic Studio / Pro :: Track Zoom Versus Window Zoom - Automation Zoom
My arrange window zoom level is set to very small so I can see the whole project. Even tho small, the zoom level is 0.

When I tap A (Automation) the tracks open up with automation, but are also zoom level 0, which I think is too small.

The automation zoom level seems to be tied to the actual track zoom. When I resize the automation tracks, it either does not stay the next time or it also zooms the non-automation tracks, depending on whether I use the sliders bottom right of the window or drag a track with the finger (with cmd for all tracks).

This is really complicated to explain, and I spent a lot of time figuring out the difference between individual track zoom and the whole window zoom. There seems to be a difference doing it with the sliders or the fingertip. The sliders don't affect the track zoom (which can range from -50 to 50).

MacBook Pro :: Any Possibility To Disable Trackpad?
Is there any way to disable the trackpad on a Macbook Pro? I ask because my previous Compaq laptop had a physical button to turn off the trackpad. This was actually very useful in preventing inadvertent actions, with certain programs. Maybe it's not that big of a deal for most people, but after having a computer that was able to do this, it just seems like a nice feature to have.

MacBook Pro :: How To Disable Gestures On Trackpad
Just got my 17" Macbook Pro about two weeks ago.

At first, I really loved doing gestures on the trackpad.

Now, I find it a nightmare.

It is so easy to move my finger the wrong way and accidentally resize the page. I will be in the middle of surfing or even typing a message and if my finger is not completely curved, I will throw the trackpad into gesture mode and my screen goes into multiple resizes.

I found no way to turn the gestures off under PREFERENCES -> TRACKPAD.

MacBook Pro :: Disable Trackpad When Mouse Connected?
I've been searching hi and low but still don't know how to restore the option to disable the trackpad on my MBP since the update to OS X (10.5.7). It was present in System Preferences in the 10.5.6 version, and why Apple decided to "86" this option leaves me scratching my head. Am I the only one who inadvertently brushes against the trackpad while typing? I discovered this by accident the other day wshile typing a lengthy email. My inadvertent trackpad contact eventually caused me to loose the email and start over.

I've tried the Terminal tweaks, but the commands are not recognized. I've written to Apple's feedback asking them to restore the option in an update. Can anyone offer more in terms of a solution?

MacBook Pro :: Finding A Disable Trackpad Feature When A Mouse Is Connected
I remembered on my "old" white MacBook, there is a feature whereby when a Mighty Mouse/Bluetooth Mouse is connected to the MB, the Trackpad is disabled or something, this setting can be set inside the Trackpad settings inside System Preferences.

But I can't seem to find this feature in the new MBP, in fact, discover that my trackpad and my fingers clicks are very much active even though my BT mouse is connected.

Not a really big big deal, but I thought the disable feature would be useful for accidental clicks or something.

IPhoto 11 :: How To Disable Thumbnail Zoom
I want to rotate images using the trackpad but iPhoto intercepts my initial trackpad gesture and resizes the thumbnails. It then re-arranges the thumbnails according to their new sizes before proceeding to rotate whatever image just happens to be under the mouse! In other words it rotates the wrong image. I could use cmd R but that is still limited to one direction (!!!!). I want to fix the thumbnail size so that they do not intercept the track pad gestures.

OS X Leopard :: Turn Off Zoom And Rotate Options For Trackpad?
I use Photoshop and Word with my new MacBook, and the new zoom and rotate features for the trackpad are absolutely infuriating! It often rotates and zooms the photos I'm working on, or zooms the word document, because my fingers might barely graze the surface of this new, larger trackpad. And Apple decided not to make these features optional in the System Preferences. So it's a real bother to my workflow. Does anybody know how to a) turn it off, or b) get Apple to put together an update that will allow us to toggle all the features in the system preferences?

Mac Safari :: Fonts Keep Zoom In With Two Finger Scroll On Trackpad
I have a late 2008 unibody 15" MBP with the large "button-less" glass trackpad. I occasionally run into the following problem and it doesn't go away by either restarting Safari or the computer. But eventually it does go away to come back again randomly: Basically the browser "zoom in" functionality gets triggered when scrolling up/down with two fingers on the trackpad. You can see it in the following screencast (compare the font size in the beginning and then at the end of the screencast): [URL]. I have even turned off the pinch-to-zoom option but it still happens (as seen at the end of the screencast). The speed of scrolling does not matter and it happens on all pages. I have another MBP of the same model (but different processor) but it never had this situation.

Snow Leopard :: Disabling Desktop Icon Zoom With Trackpad?
Does anyone know ofa way to disable to resizing of icons via a pinch gesture on a trackpad? Is 10.5, there was an option to disable this behavior, but I can't find it in 10.6 without disabling the pinch gesture everywhere. I am finding that I occasionally have my thumb touch the trackpad while moving the cursor around, and that ends up resizing my desktop icons. I place certain things on my desktop in specific locations, and this behavior generally trashes that.

My trackpad recently had a very nasty run-in with a heavy object and is broken (i.e. cracked) - it's usually fine, but if i bump it (i.e. get anywhere within 1mm of it) it has some strange effects (click, click, click, click, mouse moves, is there a ghost in my computer, kind of thing) and I would like to just shut it down altogether until I can replace it. find where the check box is for "ignore trackpad when mouse is present". It used to be at the bottom of the trackpad preference window and now I don't see it.
