Does front row work with the new MacBook pro with the latest lion software cause on using my apple remote on the laptop it doesn't give me front row option

I upgraded to Lion and sadly, Front Row is not supported. I somehow found the Front Row app in my systems folder and moved it to my Applications folder. Front Row now shows up in my applications folder, as well as Launchpad. However, when I go into Front Row, it does not recognize any of my media from iTunes. I tried out this website: [URL]..blog/frontrowenablerforlion to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make Front Row work in OS X Lion.Â

What do I do if the front camera on my MacBook Pro does not work, but the green light next to the camera is on? I've tried use photo booth, facetime, skype to test the camera, the green light was on, but there is no image. It means my front camera's gone?

After several hours my mac is running linked to my LCD screen through MiniDisplay Port - VGA connector, Front Row simply doesn't start. It fades to black for a while but then it immediately fades back to the desktop.
I uninstalled every application might have affected Front Row (Caffeine, LastFm, TV Row) but it was useless. I even tried to fix permissions in the Disk Utility, but it didn't help.
Is it possible to start Plex instead of Front Row, using the Menu button on the Apple Remote?

I'm just wondering if there is a specific remote you need since they don't come with remotes any more I didn't know if Apple changed it or if they were only being cheap (which we know they are!). I even sneak around about it, but still I'm a Mac Addict. The cravings are worse every time there's a new Keynote Address from Apple, new press releases or the WWDC and I feel it starting. So as I type this on my 1st Gen 13" Alum MacBook with my white 3G iPhone next to me I can't help but wonder... For several weeks, my black MacBook (2008) has been acting odd. Certain applications won't open, and when I attempt to open them, the computer makes a quiet clicking noise, like the drive is failing. Last week, when trying to boot it, the thing just wouldn't. Stuck on the grey Apple logo screen. Assuming a hard drive problem or failure, I ran the tests. I ran Disk Utility from the Snow Leopard install disk, checked & repaired permissions, checked & repaired disk. All okay. I ran the Apple Hardware Test from the install disk that came with the computer, using the test that runs for an hour or so, and all appears to be fine. The computer won't boot into safe mode. I've tried flashing the PRAM. I doubt I could achieve much through target disk mode, as I've already run Disk Utility. What's left to do? Something doesn't add up here.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn every MB I've used since they first came out, you could hook the audio and video up, close the lid, and if it went into sleep mode, the Apple Remote would trigger a "wake up" for mediacenter purposes on a TV/stereo. My SR MB w/ 10.5 doesn't do it. As soon as the lid closes, it's asleep no matter how I toggle the view between screen and external port. Front Row doesn't wake it anymore. Anyone else having this problem? I wanted to find out before calling and asking.

View 17 Replies View Relatedalright so everything with my late 2008 macbook pro had been fine up until about three weeks ago when it started to randomly crash (while watching movies online and using vuze). so tonight i decided to reset the PRAM since i had seen that as a possible solution on some of the other threads on this issue. did that but now the front power LED doesn't come on when the computer is on. so far no crashes yet but who knows
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had some problems for about the past year with the front USB port on my 2009 13in Macbook Pro 5.5.
As you know, there are 2 USB ports on the left side on a 13inch Macbook pro. The one closest to me (the front one) works fine when I use it with a flash drive. But when I connect my external 7200RPM external drive to it, after about a minute, it ejects then re-recognizes the disk.
I video edit with FCP and use the external as one of my scratch disks.
At first I thought maybe it was the cord or the drive that was messed up. But then I connected my other external drive to this port and the same thing happened. But when I connected it to the back USB port, everything works fine. I haven't had any trouble. So i make sure it's connected to that port when using the external.
