Mar 14, 2012I have a disc full of photo's stuck in the disc drive on my imac. When I try to eject it, I get a spinning rainbow circle and have to do a hard shut down. It sounds like it is trying to eject it, but then gets hung up.

Jun 19, 2012I was able to disable the camera while using the original operating system. I upgraded to Lion so I can use I cloud and while in a meeting for work today I got called out for having my camera on. Does anyone know how to disable this? I don't use the camera for anything so I don't care if it will be permanently disabled.

The application comes up but the loading symbol just goes round and round for hours and nothing happens, even the little green light doesn't come on. At the top of the mac screen in photo booth>camera section it says 'no camera available' but when i open my FaceTime the light comes on and camera works. How can i fix my photo booth??

Apr 15, 2008I'm trying to get a Macbook's iSight working. The Macbook is running Leopard, currently. When I go to open Photo Booth, I get the camera icon with a slash through it - indicating the camera isn't connected/available. The same problem happens with other applications. I don't believe it is listed in System Profiler, though if it was listed as something other than "iSight" I could have missed it.
I tried a few applications that are supposed to kick start it, reset the P Ram, reset the SMC, etc to no avail.

Jan 13, 2009Currently using 10.5.6 on an emac 1.25, 768 sdram with 150Gb. I have been using PS 2 for ages to improve my photos from a Pentax camera without any problems. All of a sudden, when opening a pic downloaded from the camera, I am getting a message:-
EMBEDDED PROFILE MISMATCH
The document "..............jpg" has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded sRGB IEC61966-2.1
Working : Monitor RGB - Apple RGB
1) Use the embedded profile (instead of working space)
2) Convert documents colours to the working space
3) Discard the embedded profile (don't colour manage)
So far I have converted the pics one at a time without difficulty but it adds an extra process to it all. Why am I getting this message and how can I get rid of it?

As a recent switcher, it would have taken me a second to select the pics, right click, and rename them all in one batch. I was using Adobe's lightroom wich is really nice (free trial) and found it was going to be my picassa replacement (man do i miss that program) and I found that I need a plug in called bridge which only comes with photoshop which I dont have for mac. So.. anyone know how to rename 20 pics at a time. 2007 09 05 (1) 2007 09 05 (2) etc. who said changing over was going to be this hard. its like learning to ride a bike all over.

Jun 12, 2012I'm an illustrator, and I have enough need for photos of myself and various objects that I have a Nikon digital camera permanently mounted on a tripod in my studio. Is it possible to use Photo Booth as a viewfinder, so that I can see the camera's-eye-view of whatever I'm shooting? I know that literally, it can be done, because I currently use Photo Booth to shoot micro photos from a Celestron USB digital microscope. So why not input from a Nikon? Can it be done? If so, how?

"Photo Booth cannot open because the camera is in use by another application."
There are no other applications running. I've restarted the computer, repaired permissions, reset the PRAM, and re-installed Photo Booth from the original disk. I also tried running Photo Booth from the Guest account. None of these actions have worked. I have an Intel iMac (20"), running OS 10.4.11 (Tiger).

Jun 11, 2008Recently spotted a weird thing happening when I download images from my Nikon D200. I use Image Capture, but not sure if that's the problem. Maybe it's not a problem - hopefully you guys can help.Basically, when burning a DVD of images for a friend, I noticed that if I dragged over the folder that contained the downloaded images, the disc size in Toast matched the size of the folder, but that if I created a blank disc and just copied over the folder contents themselves, not the actual folder, the disc size was 1.5GB smaller.
So, I fired up TinkerTool and turned on Invisible Files in the Finder, and was shocked to discover that throughout my hard drive, in the folders I download photos into from my camera there are invisible 'photos' with a period at the start of their name (rendering them invisible) that are the size of a full high res photo each - essentially doubling the size of the folder. If I delete a photo in the Finder, it's invisible counterpart doesn't get deleted with it - so what the heck are they? They're taking up GB upon GB upon GB of space on my drive and I can't even see them unless I use TinkerTool.
