MacBook Pro :: Built In Webcam Not Working?

I currently have a Macbook pro with Mac OS X (10.6.4) and for some reason the webcam will not let me see myself. I have had chats with both Skype and through ichat with video working but i can only see the other party. For some reason I can't see myself. Any thoughts or suggestions. If i can't figure it out soon I'll have to take it to the apple store to see what they can do.

IMac Intel :: Built In Webcam Not Working With MSN
Just got a new IMac - trying to get the camera to work with aMSN but a problem keeps popping up about a firewall or router problem. I called Apple they tell me to call the router people - they router people ask for a "port number" (example: 21 or 80) call back the Apple people and no one has any idea what a port number is. I'm stuck. The router people know its a imac and that the camera is built in.

IMac Intel :: Built In Webcam Not Working - No Camera Connected
I recently got a new, 24 inch iMac. Evverything works good, but i wanted to do video chat today, and i installed all the intsallers for gmail, and my picture didn't come up. And i thought it my be just the internet, so i went to iMovie, and tried to record myself, and it said no camera connected. I know for a fact there is a webcam, for i can see it, i am just wondering if you have to activate it? There is no Webcam tab in system preferences. I also tried photo booth, and it said the same thing, no camera connected. I know its on there, i for fact can see it. And also the mic works.

MacBook Pro :: Webcam Not Working After OS X Update
My iSight on my MBP used to work fine on all apps as well as video chat sites, but it recently started working only occasionally on Omegle/Chatroulette. On my end, I could see myself, but others said they couldn't see me, and their cams were just black boxes like they weren't loading. It was the same way on both Firefox and Safari, so it couldn't be a browser issue. I thought it may have been an issue that came with the newest OS X update (the one with the Mac app store from just the other day), so I reinstalled OS X from the disk that came in the box. Now chat sites don't even recognize it and I get the "webcam required" message as though I don't even have one. But, Skype and iChat can use it just fine. I even reset the SMC by holding down left shift, control, option, and power with the computer off, but nothing changed. I am running the latest Flash (ver. 10.1.102.64) according to [URL].

ISight :: How To Use Built In Camera As A Webcam
I am trying to set up a webcam using the built-in camera on my MacBook Pro. However, when I set up a webcam site, I get no video from the computer. I have noticed that when I open iChat it says there is no camera hooked up. However, in the past I have been able to video chat with a friend. Can I use the built-in for a video webcam? If so, how? Do I have to activate it somehow? Or do I need extra software? A new external video camera? I want to use this simply to check in on pets while away so I do not need high quality video.

IMac Intel :: How To Use Built In Webcam For Skype
How does one use the built-in webcam online? My iMac's webcam can be accessed through Photo Booth, but only, it appears, to take photos or brief movies. I've searched this forum, but don't find how one can use the webcam online such as in Skype. A program called iSight is mentioned in several posts, but my year-old iMac doesn't have that program. Any clues on how to use the camera beyond Photo Booth?

MacBook Pro :: Built In Camera Not Working
I have a MacBook Pro 2.53, with SL 10.6.2 installed. I bought it back in November and noticed recently that the built in camera no longer functions correctly. Basically when I open Photobooth it either flashes on and off or else it simple doesnt connect at all giving me a message "There is no connected camera"...! Machine has never been dropped or misused in any form. I tried the following....

Reset PRAM
Reset SMC
Repaired permission (from SL Install DVD)
Verified and repaired HD
Tried another account
Re-Installed SnowLeopard

After all that I can guess my options.... Or do any of yee have any words of wisdom for me...???? No bloody Applestores in Republic of Ireland so thats not an option. Cant be without this machine as my business sorta runs from it. To be honest I'd nearly live with the camera not working but for a machine this young it should just work...!

ISight :: Disable Built In - Enable External Webcam
I'm trying to take pics directly onto a MacBook. Don't need anything fancy, so PhotoBooth would suffice, but I need more control over where the camera is pointing than lifting and trying to aim a laptop. We have a Logitech 9000 but we can't get photobooth to use it. We tried tying up the built-in iSight with another app: this just causes photobooth to open with a blank black screen. We tried an applescript to disable the internal iSight (script "Intel Mac iSight Disabler" from [URL]): this caused photobooth to launch with an error "No Camera" icon.

Anyone know either a way to disable the built-in isight and have an external webcam work OR an app that does basically what Photobooth does but with the ability to choose the camera?

IMac Intel :: Built In Webcam Not Recognized On Any Websites
I have the iMac 27'' 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 16GB. The built in webcam, (and also any USB webcams I have tried to connect,) will not connect to any websites such as Chat Roulette, or any other broadcast website that requires Adobe Flash Player. I hit accept, and it just comes up as either a black screen, or says detecting video. (Depending on the site.) I have tried on multiple browsers, is there a random setting I don't know about? The webcam works perfectly with Skype, Photobooth, iChat- but it will not work when trying to broadcast through any website.

MacBook Pro :: Built-in ISight Camera Stopped Working
I was skyping yesterday and discovered my built-in iSight camera seems to have stopped working. No video was coming through on skype--just black in the place where my picture should have been. The green light was on, indicating the camera was on. I've tested the camera again several times using Photo Booth--sometimes it says there's no camera connected, but most of the time it says the iSight is connected, the green light is on, but there is no image--only black. I'm not at all expert with Macs, but I looked through the system preference settings and couldn't find anything regarding the camera to check or whatever. Also no "iSight" application the finder.

MacBook Pro :: FaceTime HD Webcam Not Working Correctly ONLY In Apple-developed Applications?
My sister just bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro?The built-in camera is "flickering," but it appears to only be happening in applications made by Apple, or at least ones preinstalled on the computer.  The applications affected that I have tested are: iMovie, FaceTime, Photo Booth, and iChat.  It's not really a "flicker," per se, but large horizontal chunks of the video will displace and often show up as green -- it all moves very rapidly -- very hard to explain, but it is definitely not normal behavior.

iChat takes the issue a step further: the camera preview in iChat Preferences shows nothing but a blank screen. The camera works flawlessly in Skype, and also in web browers thorugh Adobe Flash. So, I am very certain this is not a hardware issue.  It also worked perfectly during the setup walkthrough when the computer was first turned on and it had her take a photo for her user account. I've tried resetting application preferences by deleting the preference files, resetting PRAM and SMC, shutting down/restarting the computer, and I've applied all possible Software Updates.  System Information (formerly System Profiler) shows the camera under USB, so the computer is recognizing it.  Finally, we called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X, which my sister just did. The problem's still there.  It wasn't a "clean" install though, because all of her files and preferences were kept in-tact, so maybe that is why.
