MacBook :: How To Know If Have Trojan Via Adobe Flash Download
Dec 1, 2014
I was told by my internet provider that a computer in my house has a Trojan. He said it arrived at 4:30 pm. I was working on my Mac then, looking at The Bay and WestJet sites. An "Adobe Flash Player install" popped up on my computer and I just closed it... I don't remember exactly what I pressed to make it go away. So now I don't know if there is a trojan on my computer or not and what to do about it.Â
All the Adobe site says is to enable Javascript and mine is already enabled but still will not download. It always gets to be almost complete and then it says download failed and to close safari, even when safari isn't open.
Every time I go to update my Adobe Flash it tells me I cannot continue unless I close the safari, but I do not have it open, and I am unsure of what to do to get it to successfully download.
I have been trying to download adobe flash player so I can use youtube. I install it, open it in my downloads, Click install adobe Flash player, and then click open when it asks me if I want to open application downloaded from the internet. After I click open I put in my password, click next, then as adobe trys to download it will get to 50% the stop and say Safari needs to be closed to continue. However safari and everything is already closed. I am able to download Adobe Flash Player.
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), Adobe Flash Player
I have always been able to watch videos on line. Now on msnbc it says I have to download the new Adobe Flash player in order to watch the videos. When I try to download it won't do it.Â
I cannot download Adobe Flash with the os 10.7.4 system on my iMac or laptop. been to apple customer care who sent me to adobe who were not much help.
I can't download adobe flash player. I get so far and then 'error' 10822 is quoted. Disabling Javascript in Firefox and Safari did not work. My system is MAC OS X 10.5.8.
So, it seems that it is in fact possible to get a virus/trojan on a Mac, I am using Sophos Anti Virus as I noticed my iMac is running way slow. It's a fairly new machine with 8GB RAM and 2 TB HD so should be fine. Turns out several copies of Troj/PDFJs-ON (files are report.zip, report.pdf. One was removed by Sophos, the other needs to be removed manually. However, according to Adobe, the fix is a patch to the Adobe Reader, but I don't use or have Adobe Reader. I do have other Adobe products. What can I do?
Gizmodo is reporting that pirated copies of the Photoshop cs4 crack have been determined to have a trojan which gives an attacker root access to your machine. I know this is a sensitive topic to discuss here but I have a question: What can you do to search to see if you have been infected? I did not use a photoshop cs4 crack per se, but my machine was exposed to a similar file that is close enough to scare the bejesus out of me.
I recently removed Flashback Malware from my computer. I used Flashback Remover [URL] to detect, quarantine and delete the malware. I've since tried to reinstall Flash, but to no avail. I've tried downloading it from the adobe site directly, then installing it. It says the install was successful, but when I go to a site that uses flash, I'm directed to download flash.
Before I found the malware on my computer, I tried moving my plug-ins ("/library/Internet Plug-Ins" and "~/library/Internet Plug-Ins") to a separate file on my desktop to test which ones may be corrupt. Maybe this changed the path or the file for my plug-ins? I don't know, but I'd really like some help. All of my software is up to date, according to Software Update.
I've never really had a problem with my macbook, but for the last two weeks or so, I can't watch any Flash videos like YouTube. It'll work for about fifteen or so seconds and then the whole thing will start skipping and the whole computer acts choppy. Firefox (or Safari) CPU usage spikes, and the computer gets really hot. Then I'll have to wait for a minute or so for the macbook to cool off before I can use it. I've tried downgrading from Flash 10 to Flash 9 -- no better.
Yesterday I updated Adobe Flash Player, and now I am having all kinds of unnatural behavior on my MacAir.
MS Word crashes, or freezes and Pages is not working properly. there is a constant loud whirr like the guts of the MacAir are about to fly out.My computer is now freezing. Am I correct in assuming it is the Flash Player, or what should I check? Can I get along ok without the Flash? I would like to just dump it!
