Can I retrieve data that has been wiped out because I forgot my password? I tried my password 10 times and forgot it and it wiped everything out when I finally remembered my password and logged in. Is there a way to retrieve the data?

I set up a password protected file and I cannot remember the password. Is there anyway to retrieve the information safely locked away in this file without the password or is it lost forever?
I'm dying to retrieve my info from my old HDD in my MBP but I keep getting all sorts of ideas/advice about the info on the HDD won't be retrievable if there's a BIOS/Firmware password there.... My main focus and concern is all my mp3, avi, jpg, Jpeg files; I care zero for the programs cause I can always get them back...
I have lost all my data from my harts drive. The laptop is under warranty. I have been told that they have replaced my hard drive but could not get any data off the old one. I have now lost all my data, photos, files, music etc. NO backups, only simply because i did not know how to do them. Is there any way of getting the files back? All my work spreadsheets and accounts were also lost.
I just installed a new application for my Macbook Pro but when I clicked to use it. It asked for my password. I typed my password but it says it's wrong. I am using this computer right now and now I want to change my password but everytime I try to type my password it says it's wrong. How can I change my password while I am on ? I don't want to use the OS X CD to start again bec. I just moved from Macbook to Macbook Pro and I have a lot of datas here.

I have a Macbook Pro Late 2008 Model and have both my Iphone and iPad synced to it.I intend to save all my data from the macbook to a Time Machine and then sell my macbook as I intend to buy a new one this July.
1) would I be able to retrieve all my settings and data from the Time Machine to my new Macbook.
2) Would my iPhone and iPad Sync with the new macbook or would I need to set up a new sync ? I am hoping once I am able to retrieve all my settings and data from Time Machine to the New Macbook both my iPhone and iPad would be able to sync without requiring the need for a new sync setup .
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I can't remember what the password was because I stopped using that laptop for a while. And now I can't update my computer or do anything and it's really slow.
Some weeks ago, i set the firmware password on m y MacBook Pro. I set it to something complicated but memorable ... But now, of course, I can't remember it!
I've been googleing the subject, but there seems to be nothing about resetting the MB Pros Extensible Firmware.
The problem is even bigger, because I wanted to repair permissions yesterday and thus booted from the indtall dvd. I had forgotten about the EF passeord, so I set the startup disk to be the DVD drive, and now I cant get the machine to boot from its harddrive, so I have no access to my data.
I have tried to remove the 1gig ram block, that should reset the password in the old Open Firmware macs but no dice!
Im desperate because later today Im being interviewed about my mac and tech in general, and i really need my notes and stuff on the mac, plus it would be so embarrassing that iv'e set a password i cant remember - might as well cancel the interview :-(
Is there anyway to make the MBPro boot from the harddrive again, or is there a reset button on the motherboard?
How can I format my laptop, it is MacBook and the model is A1181, if you should just tell me the step's and the buttons I should press to make my laptop work I would really appreciate it, the problem is that I forgot my user password and I can't open my PC.

I have a recent Macbook Air that has file vault 2 installed. I reset my password this morning, but cannot remember it at all this afternoon. I have all my files backedup so I am not worried about data loss. So I went to do a reinstall from the recovery partition and its asking me for my password... which is the password I do not know. I also do not remember putting the recovery key down anywhere (stupid I know).
How can I just reinstall Mavericks on the system now?
