MacBook Air :: Unable To Use External Speakers

I have a set of Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers hooked up to my Air. While i'm doing normal things (surfing the web, ichat etc), the speakers make this weird 'pop' sound every few seconds.

if i'm listening to itunes, or doing anything else involving sound, the 'pop' stops. is this normal, or should i get it checked out?

MacBook Air :: Crackling Sound On External Speakers
Does anyone else get those crackling sounds every few minutes when you use external speakers with the Air? It sounds like the noise you get from a Macbook, which is on battery, when the soundchip is switched back on... But my Air is being charged while it makes those noises?

I know I'm dating myself but I still have a pair of the old apple pro speakers (round, crystal look). I used them with my 12" powerbook (RIP) with a Griffin iFire that plugged into audio out and the firewire port. Is there any way I can use them with my firewire-less macbook air?

MacBook Pro :: External Speakers - Unable To Get Volume
my external speakers or headphones have almost no volume anymore since yesterday. It used to work for months but after a reboot and unplugging and re-plugging the external speakers to the headphone jack of the MacBook Pro it doesn't work anymore. Music and other sounds can almost not be heard, but as soon I plug out the external speaker and go back to the internal speakers it works perfect.

Mac Mini :: No Sound Coming From External Speaker / Unable To Choose External Speakers Under Preferences
I am not getting any sound from my mac mini (and the mute is not on). I have a pair of external speakers connected but when I go to sound under preferences the option to choose external speakers does not show up, only internal speakers. When I unplug the external speakers I am not even getting any internal sounds either.I suspect the problem might be related to a trial application I had on the Mac Mini called Alarm Clock Pro.Ever since the trial period ended (I decided not to buy it) the sound has not worked. I have no idea what to do.

MacBook Air :: Unable To Use External Monitor
The laptop acts weird (sluggish, mouse not moving smoothly, etc...) when I connect the Mac to my external monitor (IBM ThinkVision L190).

By looking at external monitor I can see that after less than an Hour using the external display the Mac shuts down one cpu and I bet it clockdown the other (it starts becoming so slow you cannot even switch between windows.

What looks odd to me is that I cannot hear the fan running so I don't think it is like the external monitor cause the heat to rise. Actually...

I have never heard the fan running during all the week but using statpro and other widget for temperature control I haven't see very high temperature.

MacBook Air :: Unable To Use WIFI When Connected To External Display
When I connect MBA to a Dell 2405FPW monitor, wifi gets a "connection timeout".

When I disconnect external display, wifi works - all this with the same wifi point.

I took MBA to the apple store, they connected the MBA to their displays and it works. This is very stressful since I cannot take the dell monitor to the apple store - Its where I work.

I also tested the MBA on a newer 24" dell monitor(At work) with same output. My only result was turninng to a less dimension monitor - works fine(again, all with the same wifi point). Is there a limitation when connecting MBA to external monitors - MBA? Again, very frustrating dealing with this issue. My previous MBP had no issues with this dell monitor.

MacBook Air :: Unable To Use 30" LG External Monitor Resolution
I own a LG 3000H monitor (HUGE 30" 2590x1600) that I use with my windows desktop computer for video editing and it is an amazing monitor. I wanted to use it with my Macbook Air Summer 2009 (2.13Ghz, 128GB SSD, Nvidia 9400M) as an external display. I bought the Mini-Display Port to DVI adaptor and hooked it in to the monitors DVI cable and the resolution won't go higher than 1280x800 (the same resolution as the MBA's display). I tried everything I could think of and it's not working.

Now for some reason, when i plug the mini dvi connector into my macbook i get an incredible amount of hum. not just a little, alot!

MacBook Pro :: Very Little Sound From External Speakers?
After upgrading to Lion, there seems to be very little sound coming from my external speakers. Speakers work with other devices but not so much with MacBook Pro.  In iTunes, the volumn slider is maxed out with the speaker volumn on the keyboard maxed out too.  Used to blast out the house, but not now.

Don't know if it's as a result of the upgrade or not.  I did a PRAM reset but still nothing.

I've noticed this for a while, but just failed to write about it. When i turn the speakers off, it turns off, but usually i forget to and come back to hearing this super soft/faint beep. Any clue how to get rid of this? Is this an issue I should consult with Apple? MacBook Pro :: Headphone Jack - External Speakers
I am having issues with my audio headphone jack. When I plug-in external speakers or headphones the audio works for just a little while then starts breaking up, like the audio is skipping. iTunes is working fine and as soon as I unplug the headphone jack the audio works fine through the built in speakers. This has become progressively worse the past couple days. At first it would just do it maybe once a week, now I can't plug in my external speakers for more then a few seconds and it starts breaking up.The speakers I am using are brand new, I actually just replaced them because I thought the original source of the problem was my old speakers. I have also tried with two different pair of ear buds with the same result. I have not changed anything recently, I got 10.6 about a week after it was released (but had this problem before then, not as often but it still happened) and I have all the software updates.

MacBook Air :: Keyboard Skin's Effect On Internal Speakers
Has anyone noticed that with a keyboard skin, the sound is much worse (muted, no treble) on the MBA? Is this common to all Macs or is it only on the MBA? Is the keyboard the, y'know, vent or something for the speakers?
I have a 13" MBA, and a Moshi clearguard skin.. I'm a first time Mac switcher so I didn't know if this was common. I do 900miles of research before every purchase, even been lurking around this forum for ages now, but I never read about anything like this - only that keyboard skins may or may not make it run warmer.

MacBook Pro :: Popping Sound External Speakers 15"
I'm using external powered speakers connecting to the audio headphone jack. But sometimes I hear a popping/cracking sound when I'm not playing any music. It is quite loud and I think it might be as loud as how I set the volume. I'm using the latest MBP 15" Unibody with standard 500GB, 2 weeks old. It may happen once or twice a day. I've been reading post about hard drive and sound but I don't think this is anything to do with the hard drive... I was thinking to get an external USB device with audio jack. But I shouldn't need to do that in the first place. Is this a software or a hardware problem?? Solutions please!

MacBook Pro :: External Speakers Not Working - Intermittent Audio
I have owned my MacBook Pro since June 2010, and have always used a pair of independently powered (via adapter) external Dell speakers for audio output. Since upgrading to Lion about 1 month ago, I was having intermittent audio issues, which were resolved by re-starting my computer (not ideal but it worked). Today, the speakers just stopped working. The internal speakers work, but when I plug the externals into the headphone port, they don't produce sound. Earbuds in the same port also don't work (but the earbuds are good). The external speakers are being recognized by the sound panel in system preferences.

MacBook Pro :: Apple DVD Player Not Recognizing External Speakers?
I have connected a pair of Logitech V20 notebook speakers to my MacBook Pro. I adjusted the System Preference settings/Sound/Sound Effects - play sound effects through "Logitech USB Speaker" and that works fine. I can hear my laptop's beeps through the external speakers.

But when I put in a movie DVD and the Apple DVD Player boots up, the sound does not come through the external speakers. So, in the DVD Player, I selected Preferences/Disc Setup/Audio/Audio Output and the external speakers are not there - only "System Sound Output" with nothing else available/recognized.
So, how do I get the DVD Player to put the sound out through my external speakers and not the laptop internal speakers?
