MacBook Air :: Secondary Tap No Longer Working As Double Click

All other keyboard shortcuts working, but double tap (secondary tap checked in system pref/trackpad) has not worked in a week, so I've had to resort to CTRL+tap - is this a hardware problem or is there a way to re-enable thru system pref?

MacBook Pro :: Tap To Click Not Working
Lately, I've been having the problem that my tap-to-click just suddenly stops working. I can't remember having this problem before the upgrade to 10.5.5. The only ways I can get it to work again is to either restart, or go to my preferences and disable and re-enable the tap-to-click function. I just downloaded the 10.5.5 combo update to make sure that everything was fine with the upgrade and that did not help.

MacBook Pro :: Tap To Click Not Working Properly?
After re-installing Lion I've had this very annoying issue with tap-to-click on the trackpad of my MBP. While it seems to work most of the time, I often have to move the cursor away from the button or click on a window as if to make it active in orer for the click to work. A similar problem is occuring in MS Word when I'm going through the spell check process - I have to sometimes click "ignore" multiple times or click somewhere else in that window for the click to register.

MacBook Air :: Trackpad Tap To Click Unresponsive After Sleep?
I just got a 13" MacBook Air and I'm having an issue with it; googling around I've seen slightly similar problems, but nothing identical to what is going on with mine. I have the trackpad set to use the "tap to click" option in System Preferences and I've noticed that after I sleep the machine and wake it again, something gets bungled with it. The tap to click either stops responding entirely, requiring that I use the regular physical click instead, or it's highly, highly unresponsive. I've seen other reports of erratic clicking and the mouse moving on its own after sleeping the laptop.

Which thankfully mine isn't doing, but I haven't seen anybody reporting this slightly more demure issue. In any event, rebooting the machine fixes the problem completely until I sleep it next. I'm not 100% convinced that this is an Air issue, however, since I think it affected my 15" MacBook Pro to a lesser degree right after I upgraded that machine to 10.6.5, but I can't be entire certain of that since I no longer have that laptop and rarely used it without an external mouse in the first place.

MacBook Aluminum :: Trackpad Tap To Click Spontaneously Stops Working?
Sometimes the tap-to-click will suddenly stop working. It is resolved by going into system preferences, unchecking the tap-to-click box, and simply re-checking it (so it's definitely not a hardware issue, right?)

Of course this is annoying and not what I expect from my beloved Mac. What is causing this problem and how can I stop it from happening?

MacBook Air :: Change The Double-click Speed Of The Track-pad?
If I click on a icon then i have to wait several seconds until i can klick again to rename (that takes also several seconds until i can rename it) it or something else. since some days my trackpad always wants to open the file if i click on it. the other mysterious thing is, when I plug in an usb-mouse (not magic mouse) and click on a link in the safari app with the middle-button of the mouse, my macbook air opens the link in a new tab twice, instead of one single time. if there somewhere is an option to reset all the option of the input devices?

OS X :: Double Click Not Working
Double clicking on both my mouse and track pad has suddenly stopped working properly. It only recognizes the double-click like half the time. Also, when you triple-click, it doesn't select all text within a sentence. Does anyone know what's wrong? I use BetterTouchTool. I tried restarting it - didn't change anything. I turned it off - didn't change anything. So I know that isn't the problem.

MacBook Pro :: Trackpad Physical Click No Longer Working
About 3 days ago I noticed that right clicking on items was becoming increasingly difficult to do. The system would only register about 75% of my right clicks. Later that day the left click stopped working almost entirely. When I go to drag items, I either get no response or the pointer will grab the item briefly and then let it go after moving a very short distance. It does seem to work when I put a significant amount of pressure on the trackpad when clicking but I've seen some horror threads about trackpads cracking so I'm attempting to avoid applying too much pressure.

OS X Leopard :: Double Click Feature Not Working On Mouse
I recently got a new iMac that is very slick and I love it! When I hooked everything up I just continued with the Logitech mouse I was used to. Before I put the Apple mouse away I decided to try it to what it was about. I wasn't impressed because I couldn't find a double-click button and I wasn't used to the feel. So I went back to the Logitech and the double-click button isn't working on it either. Everything else works fine except the double-click. My son (adult) was over last night using the computer. Is there something he could have clicked that would have changed a setting? I checked the system preferences for the mouse and everything seems normal.

MacBook Pro :: Double Tap Restarting After Sleep Mode / Restart / Shut Down
so i've been having an issue with the double tap to hi-light any text i wish to copy. Such things as double tapping the URL bar to hi-light the whole url so i can just retype w/e site i want to go to. Every time i restart or turn off or my mbp goes to sleep and i reopen it, the double tap function resets. So i'm forced to go to the system preferences > trackpad> "double-click speed" to slowest in order to get my double tap to hi-light anything again. Is there something wrong with my mbp? Or is there a way i can save the settings when i put the double-click speed to slow so that it wont reset every time my mbp needs to be woken up or restarted?

OS X Leopard :: Double Click Disabled - Keyboard Not Working - Slow Close / Minimize
I'm using OSX 10.5.6 at my workplace. Last Thursday I suddenly encountered a problem where, firstly, I was unable to double click to open the file I wanted in Finder. Furthermore, I found out that I was unable to deselect- clicking on a different file simply added to my previous selection. I was able to select/deselect/open if I use the right click menu. The programs I had open were Illustrator, Excel, Entourage, and Firefox, which is very typical of my workflow. I wasn't doing anything especially different from any other day. I tried to close the windows one by one but found that it took a painfully long time to close each window. The entire closing animation was in slow motion and took about fifteen seconds per window to complete. I thought the computer was just overloaded so I decided to restart. I found out, however, that the keyboard also does not work! The only keys that are responding are the caps lock and volume up/down/mute. I thought my (USB) keyboard might be broken, so I tried using another keyboard only to find the same keys working. I'm guessing it's not a hardware issue. I've reset the PRAM, to no avail. When I booted in safe mode, everything works properly again. I thought I might have accidentally turned on something in Universal Access, but everything is turned off.

MacBook Pro :: Double Tap Doesn't Save After Reboot Or After Waking From Sleep Mode?
my mbp i7's double tap doesn't save when i set it to a certain "double-click speed" so when i put my mbp to sleep or restart it, i'm forced to go back to the settings and set my double-click speed again. The point of me doing this is because for some reason, my double-click doesnt register or hi-light the text in the URL or text in essays etc. when its set up to the fourth notch on the slide bar. so i have to put it down to 0 on the bar in order for my double tap to register. Its really annoying to have to redo this every time i come back to my mbp.

MacBook Pro :: Tap To Click Sometimes Registering?
On my laptop in my main account the tap to click function is somewhat erratic. Sometimes registers the click, other times requires two or more taps to register. I know there was a similar issue with a lot of people with the upgrade to Snow Leopard but I haven't seen any posts about that in quite a while. On another account the function seems to work much better the taps are almost always registered. I've looked for a trackpad preference file in the main account but I don't see anything. Is there some file or function that would improve this? The settings for this function in both accounts are the same.

OS X :: Double Tap Window Lock For Dragging?
1st Question: I've set my MBP to drag with a double tap. However, when I release the trackpad it takes a full second (it seems) before I can go about doing something else. In other words, I'll double tap a window...drag it to where I want, and then have to wait a second or so before I can move the mouse pointer again or else it will continue to move the window.

Is there a setting somewhere to minimize the time necessary between the double tap lock and when my finger is removed from the trackpad?

MacBook Pro :: Trackpad Not Sensitive To Tap To Click
the trackpad on my new Macbook Pro isn't as sensitive to tap-to-click as I would like. I frequently end up having to tap repeatedly to click something, and sometimes I just give up entirely and click the trackpad. Is there some way to increase the sensitivity so I don't have to work as hard as I am to click? My old Macbook was much, more more sensitive, even though I had "ignore accidental input" turned on.

MacBook Pro :: Activate Tap To Click Functions On Trackpad?
All time PC user and finally picked up my first Mac, a brand new 2010 2.4 MBP! Just wondering, being used to normal tap to click functions from PC machines im wondering. Do most of you MBP users use tap to click or actually use the click on the trackpad? I've noticed using the click is more accurate as far as responses, but isn't as efficient/fast as using tap to click. Can I get suggestions from you MBP users on what you guys use? I'm far in between the two so I want to know which one I probably should use so I basically "learn" to use it over time. Also, noticed when I activate tap to click and use dragging, when I start to drag a window, and find the place I want to leave it. I'll raise my finger like 1mm in the air and it still registers my finger there and will still move it. It wont unlock my finger from the drag lock unless I lift it more than 3mm off the trackpad.
