Mac Safari :: How To Reinstall Snow Leopard Java Plugin
Long story short, i deleted all the plugins for safari from the system folders, due to some old plugins that were causing issues. I've gotten most of my plugins working, except for the java one.
Going to [URL] on safari says java is not installed (works fine in other browsers). How do I reinstall the java plugin on safari 4 on snow leopard?

MacBook Pro :: Uninstall / Reinstall Java To Enable Applet Plugin?
I'm having a problem playing games on Pogo.com. When I click on a game it says I need to download Java. I click download, it says Apple has its own version and to update my software. Did that, doesn't work. I found this article. [URL]. I found the Java preferences folder, it looks exactly like this, except that I don't have the "Enable applet plug-in and webstart applications" box on mine. Is there any way to uninstall and reinstall Java?

Mac Safari :: Is There A Way To Just Reinstall Java
On a webpage I visit often that uses Java (I get a Using Java splash first), I now get: attempted to load Java content, but Java is unavailable or not installed. I have also tried in FireFox, it does give any notice of a problem, but then doesn't show any results either. If I got to terminal Java seems to be installed, if I type java -version I get: java -version java version "1.5.0_22" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_22-b03-333-9M3125) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_22-147, mixed mode, sharing) I have tried: 1) In Safari turning off Java in the preferences, exiting, restart Safari, turning Java back on. 2) Repair preferences 3) Repair disk with disk utility 4) Repair disk with Disk Warrior Is there a way to just reinstall Java? I'd really do not want to archive and install. Information: MBP 2.6 and G5 1.8 GHz Powermac Mac OS X (10.5.5) MBP: 7200 rpm 320GB HD 4GB, G5:160GB x 2 HD, 5 GB

Mac Safari :: (Flash Plugin) Giving Unstable Behavior On Snow Leopard?
I've been trying to debug this problem on Safari. Every time I upload a photo, the browser crashes. Any type of flash apps I use, whether it's uploading photos or another type, the problem is there. Does anyone experience this? I have checked this on two different machines and the same problem happens which rules two things: it's an Adobe Flash problem, or it's the browser itself. However, I also tried to upload photos using flash on a Mozilla Firefox browser, and met the same result. Information: MBP Unibody 15" / MBA 13" Mac OS X (10.6)

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Does Java/Java Applets Work In 10.6
I made a Java applet with Xcode 3.2 and i load it to firefox or Safari(Yeah i've updated my java)and for example i made a HELLO WORLD simple applet to be in black color letters, then compiled and yeah it worked but then i redid it for the letters to be red.. and they kept being black..no matter how many times i recompiled the applet. And yeah the HTML is pointing to the correct class file. Also, If if i add a Thread and implement runnable.. then nothing shows up in the canvas. And also, what ever happened with the appletviewer application? We don't have that anymore. now the only way to run applets is through a web browser.  Is java applet developement in 10.6 really over? Info: Mac OS X (10.6.7)

OS X :: Safari And Firefox Crashing After Clean Reinstall Of Snow Leopard
I loved the speed improvements Snow Leopard gave to my computer, but I knew that I would have to do a clean install sooner or later. Now, Safari and Firefox are crashing frequently (multiple times a day!) and everything is slowing down again. I'm hoping a reinstall of the operating system will fix that. However, I used up all 5 installs on my Family Pack. Can I reinstall Snow Leopard with that disc, even though all 5 installs have been used? Do I need to buy another copy? Can the Genius Bar do the clean reinstall for me while my computer is there for other repairs?

MacBook Pro :: How To Get New Java Plugin For Firefox
I run Firefox (and Safari and Chrome) on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. If I go to [URL] it tells me that my version of Java should be updated, but the Software Update... under my apple menu does not update it. The reason for this update is that security problems were found. Has Apple made the updated Java plugin for Firefox available? If so, how do I install it? Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

As above really! Its really frustrating. It bounces in the dock as though it is about to start. It then brings up a box that asks if I would like to report it to Apple, which naturally I do. My friend suggested uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its no good! Its ever since the update to Java. Anyone else had similar problems? Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Snow Leopard :: Java For Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3 - Broken Preferences?
For software compatibility reasons I am running J2SE5.0 (1.5.0.24) alongside Java SE6. I've been using the well documented and accepted practice of manually reloading J2SE5.0 (1.5.0.24) via Pacifist after each Java update and then reordering the preferred version order in Java Preferences. As of update 3 the preferences seem to be ignored. When I try and launch my apps that require J2SE5.0 (1.5.0.24) they are being loaded with Java SE6.

Mac QuickTime :: How To Reinstall Snow Leopard
I apparently corrupted the file when I tried to install an update to Flip4Mac. I only have an text file in the F4M folder now and I can't find any Quick Time files; however, when I try to download a new F4M file, it tells me I need QT 7. If I followed this would I need to disable java script ? What does disabling Java do? I know about Flash and not many sites I visit use it.

Mac Safari :: Crash May Be Caused By Flash Plugin
In an attempt to resolve problems with Safari, I went the whole hog: installed 10.5, then installed combo update to 10.5.8, installed everything Software Update found, then repaired permissions. My problems with Safari continue with similar symptoms before. The only difference is that the error message now consistently says "The crash may have been caused by the Flash plugin." Well, what do I do now and whose responsibility is it? Since I've never installed Flash myself, it must have been preinstalled by Apple, and integral with Safari or Mac OS X installation. However, Software Update reports no updates to install. I am reluctant to install anything from the Adobe website because I do not want to encounter any disagreements between Adobe and Apple as to which version of what goes with what; since Apple installed Flash in the first place I assume they would provide the correct updates when they update Safari. I was running 10.4.11 stably for many months. On updating to Safari 4 I very quickly encountered a a major problem which was not resolved through any updates up to and including 4.0.4. The problem occurs only with Safari, not with Firefox. The problem does not occur with iTunes which presumably uses the same Safari infrastructure. The problem consists of Safari crashing one to six times a day. The problems cannot be tied to any particular website, although certain websites are more likely to cause it than others, and it is more likely to occurs when multiple tabs are open. One conspicuous thing about the crash is that after it occurs, when Safari is reopened the pizza wheel spins for one to two minutes before the home page loads and Safari can be used. (The home page is Google!) Information: Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Mac Safari :: Older Plugin Not Compatible With Update
Recently(March 14 2010) I downloaded an 4.0.5 update that I received automatically from Apple. From that time I cannot upload Safari-I get a brief image of the site and then the message that "The application Safari quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the ct_plugin plug-in." I have tried the "relaunch" and the "re-set and relaunch" options they provided, with no success. I have not added any plugins since January or February. Is the problem that the older plugin are not compatible with the 4.0.5 update? If so, I need detailed instructions on how to proceed. I am writing this message on my wife's computer, by the way, since I cannot get into the apple site on my own computer. This also precludes me from posting the Problem details with this posting tho I can access it to read details if needed. Information: MacBook Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Mac Safari :: Accidentally Deleted Every Last 5 Plugin - How To Get Back
I read in previous discussion threads that in order to fix Safari 5 page load problems, one solution was to delete plugins that weren't working correctly. I did this, and Safari 5 became very fast indeed! However, I think there were some plugins I should not have deleted, like the quicktime 10, iPhoto, and other plugins that came with the system. I don't want to download quicktime 7 to replace the quicktime 10 plugin. I just want my old quicktime 10 plugin back. Information: 13" MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4) Safari 5
