OS X :: Safari Google Search Bar - How To Change
I use Safari when I use mac (which is all the time now), I do use Firefox sometimes.

WHat I need to find out is there a way of setting up the search for UK searches.

For instance if I actually use google.co.uk you get the option of - pages from the UK.

But instead of going to to the google.co.uk page all the time is there a way in Safari so that the Google search engine will only show - pages from the UK

Mac Safari :: Safari Search Bar Change To Google
Is there any plans to create a way to give users choice over which Google we get to search in, being stuck with US based results for users not in the US isn't ideal.

I'm hoping this can be fixed easily, some are saying some of the ways to make it so are security flaws, this concerns me obviously so as I'm not that technically advanced I'll leave those types of options, though thse 'security' holes' are apparently being plugged.

I just need a way to change my search bar to (URL) I really don't want to change browser as I'm enjoying this new Safari for the most part but the tide is turning with these things...I'm feeling more and more closed in using my mac on Leopard than Tiger.

Mac Safari :: Google Search Bar - Continue Typing
In Safari 5.0.3 after installing some automatic upgrades, when you go to fill in the search bar for google, it stops midway through, and you have to re-click in the bar to continue typing your search word(s). As if it's stopping to fully load all the pictures and items on the page.

Mac Safari :: Search Bar Font Size And Buttons Too Large In Google?
I have this really weird problem where the font size in the search bar in google is very large and the buttons are not the oval mac buttons, but are rectangular and also large, but all the other fonts on the page are the correct size. I have so far tried:

changing the font size (which changes the size of everything and the text size in the search bar is corrected but everything else is too small and the buttons are still rectangular)
restarting safari
restarting my computer
clearing my history
emptying the cache
removing all cookies and website icons

Under the appearance tab in safari the standard font is times 16 and fixed-width font is courier 13, which is the exact same as my friends who does not have the problem. Also in the advanced tag the option to "never use font sizes smaller than ..." is unchecked.

Mac Safari :: Changing Address Bar To Search Google When It's Not Url?
Is it possible to get the address bar to search google instead of automatically throwing a http:// infront of what I type and just failing to open? I'm coming off Chrome, so I'm used to the address bar ALSO being the search bar, and like 70% of the time I find myself typing my searches in my address bar in Safari. Is this just something I'm gonna need to get used to now or is there a workaround for this.

OS X :: Can't Set Safari 4 Snow Leopard Google Search Box To Google
Previously the solution was to install Safari plugins Inquisitor or Glims but Apple have removed the interfaces from Safari 4 that these plugins used - and there is still no built in Safari Preference to set the locale of the Google search. Effectively this renders the Safari Google Search field pretty well useless - at least for UK users. If you're searching for UK-based businesses or individuals, for example, the thousands of USA results that come up first are just not relevant - (that's an example of British Understatement. by the way

Safari :: Google Search String Changes When Go Back To Previous Page
This has been happening for awhile now. No doubt due to some upgrade. When I search for a string I'll get the list of google hits. And the search string will still be right in the window where I typed it. But sometimes after going to a link, I'll come back to this page and the page will be the same, but the search string is from a previous search. This is an inconvenience as I frequently go back to edit the search. I can't seem to reproduce it at the moment.

Software :: Safari Not Change Visited Links Colors On Google Search Pages
Something I've done in the past few days has caused Safari to not change color for visited links "only" on Google search pages, which is where it's most needed. This is still working fine on FireFox. I tried creating another user account and it works fine with that. Just not with my primary account. I've done all the typical things. repaired permissions, repaired disk, completely reset Safari to default and made sure all caches, etc. were cleaned out. Both manually and with Onyx, reset associated .plist files, history, cookies, private browsing. Returning to a Google search page still shows all visited links as blue, as if they'd never been visited.

Another clue is if I log out of my Google account (which I have to be logged into 24/7 for Gmail, Google bookmarks, iGoogle, etc., it starts working, then stops working as soon as I log into my Google account again. I posted this on Google Groups but got no response. This also works fine on my wife's Mac, so it's definitely a problem just in my user account. I know I could just add a new account and use that, but it would mean re-installing all 70 applications I have now installed as they're not setup for use except with my account. I'd like to avoid that and find the actual culprit. BTW, this worked fine for a long time. Just quit working about a week ago, but it wasn't in conjunction with any new hardware or software.

Mac Safari :: Using Localized Google Search?
I know that there are other posts on here relating to similar issues, but why do Apple not give user the option to localise the Google search? I know that it is possible to download plug-ins such as Glims and Inquisitor, but I've not liked these when I've tried them.

It astonishes me that this isn't a standard option in Safari preferences, especially as Apple software tends to be so user friendly. Is it possible to change the built in Safari search to a local Google search without these plug-ins, or am I just going to have to put up with it?

Safari :: Unable To Use The Search Window On The Right To Get Results When Google Is Selected As The Search Engine?
I am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when

I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP.  When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked?  Is this a Google attack on Safari?  How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice?

Mac Safari :: Google Search With No Predictions Anymore
When I used Safari 4 in Tiger, I was impressed with the way it "predicted" what your Google search is as you type, which saved time & effort. Now, in Leopard, using exactly the same version of Safari, it doesn't do this any more. There seems to be nothing in Preferences to do with this behaviour. Is it something that was taken out of Leopard? If so, why?

I thine click on one of those pages and somewhere in rems of text is the acronym LGOP. Firefox allows us to go straight to to where the word you are looking for is located without having to wade through all the additional, nonspecific text. CAn Safari do this?

Mac Safari :: Anomaly Industries Google Image Search
This was the only Widget I used with any regularity because of its unique capabilities. It would bypass the ads and round up hundreds of individual images that could be used in a slide show, etc. All the other widgets simply duplicate the same image search you can do on Google--a whole page of images--slow, tedious, uninteresting by comparison. Has anyone had any success with the Anomaly Industries widget or found a similar one? I've tried making it work with an Apple notebook and iMac, with Tiger and Leopard, but for the better part of a year or so, it's been totally non-responsive for me. I'm even beginning to suspect that a company like Google may have gone out of its way to "de-activate" the program.
