Safari :: Unable To Use The Search Window On The Right To Get Results When Google Is Selected As The Search Engine?
I am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP. When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked? Is this a Google attack on Safari?  How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice?  Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Mac Safari :: Quits When Using Search Engine
When I type in a value in the search box of either Yahoo or Google the Safari application quits. The message that comes up is "The application Safari quit unexpectedly". If I type in an actual address in the address bar I can get into the site. It is only when I do a search that Safari quits and kicks me out. Information: Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Mac Safari :: Changing The Default Search Engine?
I've done quite some search to figure out the solution for this. Some were saying that you have to set your country/language to "UK" (in the preferences) which I have and others to change the code in a special file (which some suggested was not working well). So, is there a straight forward solution to have [URL] as my default search engine instead of [URL]? Information: iMac Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Applications :: Safari 5 / Won't Add More Websites To Top Right Search Bar
In Safari 5, there is a search bar at the top right that allows you to search Bing, Google, and Yahoo! I would like to know if it's possible to add additional websites to that list. So, for instance, would it be possible to add Wikipedia to that drop-down list? If so, how? Will I be able to do this when the Extension Gallery goes live, sometime later this summer? Essentially, I want Safari 5 to behave like Firefox/MyCroft and allow me to customize/manage the search list myself. I would never search Yahoo! or Bing, so I'd like to replace those with something a little more useful.

Mac Safari :: RSS Reader In Safari Won't Clear Last Search In Search Articles
So I used Safari for my RSS reader, but for some reason, the RSS Search articles is now always populated with my last search (of course removing all articles that don't match) making my reader useless. I have tried resetting safari, didnt change a thing. I have tried clicking the X and refreshing - it just puts the search back in there. Click the X then enter... Mac Safari :: Safari Search Bar Change To Google
Is there any plans to create a way to give users choice over which Google we get to search in, being stuck with US based results for users not in the US isn't ideal. I'm hoping this can be fixed easily, some are saying some of the ways to make it so are security flaws, this concerns me obviously so as I'm not that technically advanced I'll leave those types of options, though thse 'security' holes' are apparently being plugged. I just need a way to change my search bar to (URL) I really don't want to change browser as I'm enjoying this new Safari for the most part but the tide is turning with these things...I'm feeling more and more closed in using my mac on Leopard than Tiger. Mac Safari :: Query No Longer In Google Search Box
I am using Safari 5.0.1. I go to google and type in my search. I get a list of hits and my search query (keywords used in the search) shows up in the box - all normal. The problem is that if I hit on one of the links and then hit the back button to return to my search results, my query is no longer in the box at the top. My search results are all still there, but the keywords I originally entered are not (just a blank box). Information: Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Mac Safari :: Make Google Address Default In Search Box?
I was hoping that by version 4 of safari we really should be able to change the search engine in the search box. I am happy with it searching google but it searches [URL] not [URL]! This is such a simple thing, but leaves anyone outside of the US with an unusable feature. Apple seems to neglect the non USA customers generally, such as with the US english dictionary. how to make a request to apple? Information: MacBook Pro Aluminum Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Mac Safari :: How To Keep Find Search Bar Active
I am wondering if there is any way to keep the Find search bar active until I close it. In Safari, the Find bar goes away when I go to a new page or tab. In Firefox, the Find bar stays open in all windows and tabs, until I close it. This is often very useful, if I am looking through many pages. Information: Mac OS X (10.6.3)
