Mac Safari :: Icon In Dock Missing - After Crash

The icon of Safari in my dock is missing, I think it happened after it crashed (my dock auto-hides, so I'm not 100%) I've tried re-starting, all that. How do I get it back without 'reseting' Safari (if that even works)... or at least reseting as few of the checkboxes as possible? By the way, Safari has been very incompatible with the internet since the update to Safari 5... Flash plugin crashes all the time - YouTube; doesn't work well with Facebook - videos, posting links, etc.; and various other bugs. (I have the newest versions of everything - MBP, Safari, etc.)

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Safari URL Shortcut Icon Missing In The Dock?
since the 10.7.4 update, I have the url shortcuts icon missing in my dock: When draging a new URL from safari to the dock, it's the same problem. The icon is invisible but there is a gap between the other icons and the name of the url's page is displayed when passing the cursor. This problem is only with URL shortcuts and no with jpg or pdf or mp3 or folder sortcuts etc.. I have already reboot the dock and make a disk permissions check and repair. Restarting my computer doesn't solve the problem. Safari Version 5.1.7 (7534.57.2)

OS X :: The Missing Icon In The Dock - UTorrent?
I'm new to the whole mac thing and got my first mac (an iMac) just 2 days ago. A whole new learning experience.

I've downloaded and am running uTorrent. uTorrent is showing in the dock, with the text and the small "light" underneath it to show the app is running. However there is no icon, just space. Also in the applications folder, there seems to be a standard icon ("There's no icon, so we'll use this standard icon for the application").

I've attached a screenshot of how it looks in the dock.

I know the uTorrent app has an icon, it was showed right when I downloaded the app and I haven't changed anything, but now it's gone. How do I get it back?

OS X Leopard :: Missing Finder Icon In Dock?
I'm missing my Finder icon in my dock. my doing from messing with things while trying to change the icon in the dock. The finder is in the dock with the text and the little blue dot, but no image. One icon I replaced shows up when it asks Are you sure you want to remove the items in the trash permanently? Also, the original finder icon shows up when I open the About Finder window. Everything appears to be working fine. It is just missing the image in the dock. I tried deleting the apple.dock.plist, apple.dock.db & capple.finder.plist files and restarting in safe mode. Repaired permissions with Yasu. The Dock.app/Contents/Resources/Finder.png & the Finder.app/Contents/Resources/Finder.icns files both open in Preview fine. I've tried everything I could find in the forums here except mess with Terminal.
I'm at a loss.

MacBook Pro :: Missing Applications Icon In The Dock?
I'm referring to the actual icon to access all applications - not a particular app.

This is the second time this has happened.  Last time it randomly reappeared.

I've tried dragging it back from both the Finder and the Hard Drive icons, but although it looks like it's adding it, it doesn't.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Finder Icon Missing From Dock
I just got my computer reformatted, and lost all icon customization. I went to change them and did all successfully (most in Candybar), but the Finder has been a problem. I initially forgot how to do it, so some research said I could do it if I simply replaced the file in the System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources (Finder.png) path with my own of the same name. I did, but it didn't take - still blue. So then I did it through Candybar and it just disappeared from the dock. I've tried reverting the Finder.png file and nothing, as well as restoring the original icon through Candybar.

I saw one answer about booting a clone, so I researched how to do that, and can't do it on my internal for some reason. I tried an external, but it said it'd have to wipe all files first, which I won't.I should add that an archive and install isn't an option - I JUST got this fixed by Apple yesterday since I had lost my install disks, so I certainly can't do it myself.

Software :: Finder Icon Missing From Dock / Replaced The .icns Files
I recently changed my Finder icon by replacing the .icns files in my CoreServices folder. The icon appears as it should in dialog boxes, but doesn't show up at all in the Dock. Instead there's just a blank space where it's supposed to be. It's still perfectly functional, but annoying. :-S

I've tried logging out/restarting, reseting the dock, deleting the dock plist, and creating a new user account (it's still missing on the new account). I'm running out of things to try, does anyone have a suggestion?

Mac Safari :: Icon Disappearing From Dock When App Closed
Suddenly after a year or two of use, the Safari icon disappears from the dock after I close the application. This happens repeatedly even when I click on the option while it is running and ask to keep the icon in the dock. It doesn't happen until I open and close the application. Until the application is open, there is no option to keep the icon in the dock. When it disappears from the dock, it leaves a blank place in the dock until I open the application again. Then the icon appears on the right end of the dock.

Mac Safari :: App Icon Bounce On Dock But Will Not Open
A few weeks ago I tried opening Safari - only to find it would bounce on the dock but not open. Tried opening it from its original location with the same results. I've had some issues with Safari in the past, so I thought maybe it was the most recent update - tried to delete/uninstall it, and reinstall an older version. When I tried to reinstall the older version, it only reminded that I had a newer version of Safari already on this computer so I was unable to install this version. I gave up and have been using Firefox, but I prefer Safari significantly. Today I tried to open iPhoto. Same situation, bouncing on the dock but not opening.

OS X :: Finder Icon Missing / Finder Became Invisible After Relauncing The Dock
Today I tried to change the finder icon in the dock. Because I'm cheap, I dont have candybar, so I tried to use liteicon. While this changed the finder icon in messages like "do you want to empty trash," it did not change it on the dock, even after logging out and relaunching the dock.

So I went into a bunch of core services and replaced all the finder .icns and .pngs with the one I wanted to use. When I relaunched the dock, the finder was invisible, but it still had the little blue "open" dot below where it was.I downloaded the candybar trial to try to fix it, but even candybar didn't get the icon back.

I'm using 10.5.8. Where are all the places the finder icon should be to show up?

OS X Leopard :: Preview Proxy Icon Missing When Pdf Opens From Safari
The problem annoys me too (had to install skim for this single reason, even though I prefer preview for offline work). Here it is:If I'm viewing a pdf inside safari and I right click on it and select "Open with Preview" Preview does indeed open the pdf but there is no proxy icon next to the pdf's title in the title bar. Preview in Tiger definitely did have one, the path to pdfs opened like this was something like ~/username/library/wekitpdfs/filename.pdf

Anyone know if there's a way to get my beloved proxy icon back, dragging the icon to the desired destination is faster than going through the save dialog. Is this a Preview or Safari bug? Thank you for any insight on this

OS X :: Icons Missing In Finder / Apps And Video Icon Missing
Over the last few days I've noticed a problem with missing icons. It seems to mainly effect icons in the Trash but I have one or two missing icons for videos and apps within the Finder and on the Desktop. The icon is completely gone - I have to click on the filename to select it. Quicklook works OK (for video).

I can't think of anything I've installed that would have done it except Onyx, but I haven't run that in weeks. I did repair permissions a few days ago but I doubt that could break this. It persists after a reboot. I can't get it to happen on command, it just randomly occurs. Creating a New Folder always works OK.

OS X Leopard :: Dock Malfunctioning - Lost Trash Icon - Can't Delete App Icon
1. The Trash icon has disappeared from my Dock. I have tried "killall Dock" via Terminal, and have also deleted com.apple.dock.plist from /Home/Library/Preferences. I have also done a re-start. After these interventions, when the Dock has dutifully re-launched - losing all the app icons I had previously placed there in the process - the Trash icon was still not present.

2. Neither can I delete app icons from the Dock. They "appear" to delete - vanishing in a little cloud of puff - but then the Dock appears to restart (disappears downwards and then reappears) and the app icon is back where it was before.
