Mac Safari :: Flash Plug-in Failure On BBC News Website - How To Fix It
Since 19th October I have been experiencing plug-in failures when trying to view AV content on the BBC News website.
I am running Mac OSX 10.6.4 with Safari 5.0.2 and Flash 10.1.85.3.
With a cleanly reset browser the first video play attempt will definitely cause a plug-in failure. When I refresh the page the second attempt will usually run the video albeit with an initial stutter. Other videos will then play without plug-in failure but always with an initial stutter.
I have tested the plug-in on other websites and I have been unable to recreate the problem elsewhere.
I have tried removing any other extensions/plug-ins to no benefit.
I have properly uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player and its associated files to no benefit.
I have contacted BBC Customer Service but so far they have not provided any useful suggestions.

Safari :: Adobe Flash Plug-in Failure In Lion 10.7.4?
Just upgraded to Lion 10.7.4, then the video stopped playing in Safari. Upgraded Safari, then installed the latest Flash player, V. 11.2.202.235. Also have the latest graphic card drivers. I am beginning to remember the nightmares we used to have when we upgraded Windows. I don't want to change anything any more. Apple is beginning to suck. I only went to Lion because Apple forced me because of iCloud. MANY REGRETS NOW. I was going to upgrade my wife's laptop tomorrow. Now I won't until someone helps me fix my computer. Mac Safari :: Flash Content Not Properly Displayed And Flash Plug-in Quits Unexpectedly?
I have a strange problem since I recently migrated from an early 2006 MacBook Pro (10.4.11) to a 2010 MacBook Pro (10.6.5). According to the Mac OS updater, all software is up-to-date. Safari 5.0.3 (6533.19.4) doesn't display Flash content correctly (Safari 4 on the previous computer did). The "bubbles" and boxes in YouTube videos are all empty, there is no text displayed: Also, in another player, the time display next to the status bar stays empty: On top of that, the flash player plug-in crashes regularly. It seems to get restarted when I re-load the page(s). Ironically, it just did while I was uploading the screen shots. Mac Safari :: Flash Player Plug In - Stopped Potentially Unsafe Operation
i was browsing [URL], and when i went to read an article, i clicked on the "Reader". As soon as i did this, this error message appeared. I have never seen this before. I have the latest Flash Player installed, v. 10.1 currently. "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network: safari-resource:/[URL] is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location: [URL] To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings. You must restart this application after changing your settings." But then if i click on Settings, it takes me to the adobe website and i can't get any answers from there. Mac Safari :: Flash Player Based Website Or Youtube Video Too Slow
I've had this problem ever since I can remember, and I'm not sure why. Anytime a website has flash on it, whether it be a flash-based website or a Youtube video, Safari cannot handle it. Although Safari rarely crashes when it comes to something that is flash-based, it is VERY jerky and slow. For example, with a Youtube video, if I were to have the entire video load/buffer and then press play, the video would be jerky and lagging, but the audio would work just fine. With a flash-based website, Safari is very jerky with the image, but the audio is fine. Take [URL] for example. When the site loads, the music starts and plays just fine, but the image of the hat flying across the screen is jerky, and it takes much longer than it should to get to its final position before all the confetti comes flying out of the hat (also very slowly). Additionally, the text in the upper left hand corner of the screen ascends very slowly and jerkily, rather than quickly and smooth................

I go on Justin.tv all the time to watch the Office and when I do I don't notice any lag but recently I have occasionally. I checked activity monitor and it says the Flash Plug in is at around ~45% CPU. Why does it hog so much CPU? How can I change this? Is this normal for flash?? I thought my MBP would be able to handle this..

OS X Tiger :: Using BBc Iplayer And Adobe Flash?
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category -until yesterday my mac worked with BBC iplayer. For another application I upgraded my Flash player from 9 to 10. Now every time I go to watch a program it stalls and this message comes up after 8 seconds 'A script in this movie is causing flash player 10 to run slowly. Want to abort script?" if I click no the system crashes, if I click yes the full screen closes, the program catches up to itself but the none of the commands work i.e can't pause or re-enlarge the screen. I have uninstalled Adobe flash player 10 and re-installed 9, but it makes no difference the same warning comes up and the same problem re-accurs. I have a Mac book running Mac OSX. version 10.4.11 with a 2ghz intel core duo 2, with 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I have also tried downloading programs but again I get an error, it tries to install Adobe Air although I already have it and then says 'couldn't write the application to the hard disk, please verify the hard disk is available and try again. I have tried using both Firefox and Safari and it makes no difference. Information: Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Intel Mac :: Safari Keeps Crashing Due To .MasterofDefense.tmp Plug-in - Can't Find Plug-in
Yesterday, Safari began crashing every 45 minutes. I get a message that says Safari quit unexpectedly because of a plug-in called .MasterofDefense.tmp. I used finder to search my computer, and I cannot find this file.  PlugIn Path: /Users/<myname>/Library/Application Support/.MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Identifier: .MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Version:   ??? Mac Safari :: Flash Message In Safari - A Script In This Movie Is Causing Flash Player
When using the BBC iPlayer to watch movies in Safari they freeze after 8 seconds (although the sound continues). After a few more seconds an error message pops up that says "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes/No". If I click "Yes" the movie will jump frames until it catches up with the sound and then play normally, although a lot of functionality will be lost in the player (pausing, time elapsed etc.). If I click "No" the browser will crash. I originally had Flash Player 10 running, which gave me the same problem. I uninstalled it, fixed permissions, installed Flash Player 9 and fixed permissions again. There is no difference. The same problem exists in Firefox, so I believe it to be a Flash problem rather than Safari but the Adobe site is no help and the forums there have a lot of people with the same problem but no solutions. So I'm hoping that someone here might have an idea... Information:  Powerbook G4 17 1.67Ghz 1.5Gb (10.5.8)  iMac 2.4Ghz 2Gb  MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Power Mac :: Adobe Flash Player Failure On G5
I have a PowerMac G5 computer, running OSX Version 10.4.11. Up until yesterday, the computer performed flawlessly. Suddenly, yesterday, I get a message from Firefox (the browser I usually use), telling me that my Flash Player had been disabled because I did not have the most up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player. When I investigated, I found out that the newest version was NOT compatible with my computer. So I tried reinstalling the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player that IS compatible and have had no success. When I go in to System Preferences and click on the Adobe Flash Player pane (under other), I get a message reading "could not load Adobe Flash Player." Someone out there must know how to handle this. I'm not in a position to purchase a new computer, and I desperately need Flash Player for some of the websites I use quite often. Info:PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

I sent a request the other day for help regarding my downloading Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 and losing the ability to play my games( they were bookmarked from the web) because of missing plug- ins. I mentioned that I know very little about this computer. I did get a reply saying that he needed more information about my computer which I sent and I have not heard anything back. I probably did not send the message correctly therefore I am sending the info again and I hope I don't screw it up this time. Safari :: BBC IPlayer - This Content Doesn't Seem To Be Working
When I log into my user and go on the BBC iPlayer website and click on any video, it loads perfectly fine. However, when my mum logs onto her user account she cant play any videos. The message that comes up for ANY video is 'This content doesnt seem to be working. Try again later' This message never shows up on my side of the computer. We have an iMac 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM,Mac OS X Lion Version 10.7.4, The newest version of Flash installed (obviously because it works on my side)The newest version of Safari installed  I have tried removing Flash from the computer then reinstaling it. I also tried repairing disk permissions through Disk Utility. I even tried deleting the Safari preferences in Library. I tried reinstalling Safari I tried installing 'click to flash' to see if it would convert it to HTML5 but that didnt work. So I deleted the extension. It will load fine in Chrome & Firefox. So we can assume with this that its a problem with my mums Safari.  Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Mac Safari :: To Disable Safari Missing Plug-in Warning?
I uninstalled Flash, but now every time I visit a page that requires the plug-in, I get a drop-down warning. I have all plug-ins disabled and that gets rid of it, but naturally, that also disables stuff like QT (which I want). Anyway to stop Safari from nagging me? I would have thought out of anyone, they wouldn't be upset that I ditched Flash. I'd even move to Webkit nightlies if they had an option. Software :: RAID 5 Failure - How To Fix It
Intel Mac Pro with Snow Leopard, 4 internal 2tb drives configured as a RAID 5 using the Apple RAID card. One of the four disks, always the same one (#4) occasionally drops out of the RAID and becomes a roaming disk instead of a spare. I get an error message from RAID utility telling me the array has failed, and when I look in the utility, the naughty disk isn't visible. Only disks 1 through 3. If I restart the machine the 4th disk appears but is listed as roaming. I can use the pull down menu to "Make Spare", thus reassigning disk 4 to the RAID set. It takes several days to re-establish itself as part of the RAID. But then a few days later the same disk drops out of the RAID again. Is this a hardware problem with the RAID card? Or is there a software fix for this behavior?
