Mac QuickTime :: 7.6.9 Won't Show After Installation?
It installs perfectly fine. Download from apple, installation process, asks to restart. But after I restart there is no sign of it. I have searched the computer to the last byte, but to no avail... the only results are the Quicktime 7.6.9 .dmg file, which only tells me that it downloaded successfully.

Before when I used to view pictures they show up in (from what I can remember) Picture...im not sure what else is missing but after a while they started showing up in colorsync which i didnt like then i deleted it and the pictures started showing up in quicktime. Mac QuickTime :: Quicktime 7 Won't Upgrade To Pro In Snow Leopard?
I just recently migrated to Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro. I had been happily using QT7Pro like so many others here, not expecting to be forced to buy another Pro key.Fortunately, I did a fresh install on a new HD leaving Leopard on its original HD, so it still has the 7Pro app there. On the new drive, 7 is nowhere to be found. So I went to open QT7 off the old drive, and it was in its "locked down" basic mode. I still have my Pro key and I went to enter it, but selecting "Registration" does nothing. No error message, no crash, nothing at all. It just ignores me. Same when I do "Quicktime Preferences".What am I missing? Anyone else having this problem? Information: Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2) 2x 3GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon, 16GB, 1TB

Mac Safari :: Quicktime Movies Won't Play - Displays Quicktime Logo With Question Mark?
I've searched the forums and haven't found a solution so I decided to straight out ask. I can no longer view quicktime clips (Apple movie trailers) in safari. The box comes up to play but then just displays the Quicktime "Q" with a question mark over it. I've checked the installed plug-ins from the help menu and it does show quicktime. This used to work fine so I'm not sure what happened. I cleared my history recently but don't think that would affect it. Also, everything runs fine when using Firefox. Information: 24" iMac, 13.3" MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I want to try out the new Safari. So I went to apple.com and downloaded the package, ran installation and then rebooted the Mac. As before, when I tried to check out Safari 4, Safari again doesn't show after installation. As it's just the same specifics can be re-read in the thread 'Safari doesn't show after installation' somewhen older. But if someone can help I happily share details again. OS X :: Mac Won't Open Installation Disc On Boot?
I had some problems regarding my Hard Disk in a previous topic, I managed to fix the errors and format the drive. The disc seems ok but there is no OS on it. And when I boot (in verbose or single user mode) it keeps freezing on: Code: "Loading SystemLibraryCachescom.apple.kext.cachesStartupExtensions.mkext........................" Now this makes sense to me since the drive is empty but when I enter my Installation disc press ALT or C while booting it just freezes and does nothing. I see the CD next to my hard drive and nothing happens, anybody had this problem before? What should I do, it's just a 5 months old iMac from the latest generation :/.

OS X Leopard :: Mac Installation Disk Won't Eject Or Locate HD?
I put the Mac OC X 10.5.6 installation disk in when my computer restarted I select a language, agree to the licence of agreement but when I get the destination window its empty. Its not finding my HD. When I go to disk untility it doesnt allow me to eject or unmount the disk and its not allowing me to mount my HD...I've been using mac for years but know nothing about this kind of stuff or what I even had prior to this installation.

Windows On Mac :: Installation Won't Start Through Boot Camp
I am currently on a macbook that I bought in the summer of 2008, and I just decided I wanted to be able to run Windows on my laptop. I found my WindowsXP installation disk, a factory disk, and opened up boot camp to install Windows. I was following instructions from another thread on another computer I have at home. I got through partitioning my disk and got the windowsXP installation ready to begin when I realized I couldn't find my MacOSX disk, and thus wouldn't be able to install the Windows drivers after installing Windows (I was running Mac OS X 10.5.8), so I stopped the installation there and un-partitioned my harddrive. I then ordered Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3, and I just received the CD today. I installed Snow Leopard, then did the same thing that I did before with boot camp and partitioned my drive. However, this time when I got to the part where I put in my Windows disk, the computer reboots and starts, but the Windows installation won't begin. It just sits at a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. I've tried giving it over 30 minutes to start but it just won't go. Logically I would assume there's a problem with the disk, but I used this same disk less than a week ago and got halfway through the installation without any problems. Why won't my WindowsXP installer disk boot up?

OS X Tiger :: Dock Won't Show Up - Applications Crash - Computer Won't Shut Down
My computer was running fine until Tuesday night. First Photoshop crashed and the computer froze up. I restarted and Everything was messed up. First I noticed the Dock would not show up...at all. Firefox and Safari seem to work pretty well. Photoshop will open, but crashes when I hit save. Iphoto will open but crashes when I open a photo. Aperture and just about every other application crashes when I open it. The computer will not shut down or restart. I ran Disk Utility from the startup disk and it found no problems. I downloaded MainMenu, but it won't work. Information: G5 dual2.0 Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Power Mac G5 :: New RAM Won't Show Up
I have a dual-core 2.0ghz Powermac G5. It has 2.5gb RAM (original 512 plus two 1gb sticks i added from DataMemorySystems). The 256 were in the middle slots then the 1gb were outside of those. I added two 2gb sticks to the outside, but they aren't showing up. I also reversed the order so the larger sticks of RAM are in the middle, but they still won't show up. I tried the RAM reset which is Option + Apple + R + P and the screen just stays black. It never goes all the way through. What could the problem be? I looked on the apple site and my computer supports 2gb sticks. Maybe I did the RAM reset wrong? I shut down my computer. Start it up and immediately hold those keys down. It never gets to the next step though. Information: dual-core 2.0

Software :: IPhoto Won't Show Camera And Won't Quit?
When I connect my camera to my PowerBook, iPhoto becomes active but never shows the camera. When I connect a card reader with the card from the camera, it mounts in the Finder and iPhoto becomes active, but iPhoto never shows the card. I've tried trashing iPhoto preferences, shutting down/restarting (hoping to refresh USB), even reinstalling iPhoto from scratch. I don't know how many times I've been able to import directly from my camera since the iPhoto 7.1.4 update was released, but I think it's been quite few. Most recently, I trashed the single cache file/folder for iPhoto to no avail, except now Image Capture crashes when I try to show its Device Browser, even after trashing its preferences.

I am still getting used to Appple with my new Mini. I am still missing stuff I would like to have on the Mini. Like the icon in the task bar on window OS / You know, the icon that show when my internet is connected???? the little tv screens..... I found a Icon site. but do not understand what some of them are. I am also having difficulty understanding how to bookmark easily in Safari like I do with Firefox etc? Safari does not seem to offer me the option to bookmark a page and "choose "exactly where to place it. and also make a new folder in bookmark menu> all in one operation>>> also cant seem to get my bookmarks to stay in the left of screen. when open bookmark they open in a whole window... instead of on the left side of screen in folders ;like I am used to in XP. also is there a built in image capture program in Apple software... like "Hoversnap" In my window mchs ? I push the shift key and "print screen" keys at the same time and it save screen shots.

I am just updated to Mac OS X 10.5.8 so that I could use itunes. But now I get a message that says that to Open the latest version of itunes (that I just downloaded), I need I need Quicktime 7.5.5 or later. I've tried "updating existing software" in the Quicktime menu, but no updates are found. I've also been to the quicktime download page on apple.com and tried that, but no dice. Using QT 7 Pro, I exported a 70 meg video for use on the web, creating the standard three categories of video. Following the QT Read Me directions, I installed them all in the same location and didn't change any names. I then copied the HTML code (below) from the QT Read Me to the appropriate web page. My Mac pulls the video perfectly, no complaints at all. My iPhone, however, will open the page but the QT is grayed out and the Play button has a line through it. Mac Safari :: 4.0.4 Won't Play Embedded QuickTime Files?
I'm currently using Safari 4.0.4 under Snow Leopard. All updates are installed. It seems that trailers from Apple's QuickTime site are playing with no problems. But other embedded QT media is met with a faded QT logo with a question mark on top of it. Firefox is having no problem playing these files. I repaired permissions, I tried reinstalling QT from my Snow Leopard disk, I removed all internet plug-ins and replaced them one by one. But I'm still coming up with no fix. Mac QuickTime :: .MOV File Unreadable - X Won't Open It
I am trying to open and read a .mov file on my computer (late 2008 2.4 Ghz Macbook running the latest Snow Leopard) and QuickTime X won't open it, telling me that it's not a format recognised by QuickTime and that I might have to download additional softwares to read it. I have tried to open the file with QuickTime 7, VLC, Final Cut Express 4, and iMovie 09 as well. I have Perian and Flip4Mac installed. Nothing works. QuickTime seems to open other .mov files without any problem. I have checked the Info of the file and it's an HD video (1920x1080) with MPEG-2 Video, Linear PCM and Timecode as codecs. I have thought that the MPEG-2 Playback codec could solve the problem but it seems to be for Quicktime 7 and l'm pretty sure the file could be read with QuickTime X on the original Mac Pro, though on this point I might be mistaken. The file was transferred from a Mac Pro to my Macbook through a Western Digital My Passport (FireWire 800 and USB 2.0) external hard drive. Could the hard drive possibly have corrupted the file in one way or another? What I found odd was that the file was "locked" (with a padlock on the icon) on the hard drive and when transferred on my computer. I can unlock it in Info but I don't understand why it was locked, was it already like that on the original computer, is it something the hard drive does, and most importantly, does it have anything to do with me not being able to read it with QuickTime? ITunes Mac :: Adding Songs Copies Files But Won't Show Up In Library?
I'm a bit stumped. I've added a number of songs to my library and it appears as though they're being correctly processed -- processed, copied to the appropriate directory, analyzed for gapless playback, and searched for album artwork. However, my library is not being updated -- the songs aren't showing up when I search for them or sort by date added. Re-started twice, no changes. Any ideas? why wont the mac app store show me the download progress bar anymore? im using Version 1.1.2 (92.8) which seems to be the newest. i today bought a game on the app store which is 15gb. and in the mac app store under "purchased" it wont give me a download progress bar. even in the help file of the app it is said to be there next to the app just bought in the list. however. lauchnpad does give me a progress bar. which is just rather sloppy because it indicates nothing on speed or time remaining.   how come mac app store removed the status bar?Â

I was trying to save a video from youtube as I did a 1000 times before. Now when I try, every program/site I use (KeepVid for instance), will turn the .mp4 video file in a .txt file. Basically the file name will be something like video.mp4.txt I tried to change the file ext but it doesn't work... What did I do wrong? Any idea? Information: Mac OS X (10.6.2)
