Mac Pro :: Using Boot Camp - Finding Optical Audio Drivers?

Jan 23, 2008

I tried to ask this in the speaker thread but I think it got passed over, and someone else was curious as well:

If I get 5.1 speakers and use the optical-out port on the Mac, are there drivers for Windows that will support the optical out and let me do 5.1 as well? I'm curious as I intend to do some gaming on the box, and this greatly influences the speakers I would buy (2.1 vs 5.1)

OS X :: Finding Boot Camp Drivers?

Dec 21, 2008

I want to erase my WinXP Boot Camp partition and make a new, slighly larger one with Vista (don't ask why, not exactly my choice). The problem is I am away from home at the moment and visiting my parents. All I took with me was a Vista Ultimate install DVD. Today I opened the Boot Camp Assistent and I discovered that I need the Leopard DVD (Mac OS X Install Disc 1 in my case). Unfortunately, I didn't take this with me.

Any suggestions about what to do? I can always wait until after the holidays and install everything the legit way. I can also bit torrent drivers but I am a little skeptical of pirated setup.exe files. For some reason Apple doesn't post download links on their website. Could someone maybe send me their legit setup.exe?

Windows On Mac :: Finding Install Boot Camp 3 Drivers?

Sep 25, 2009

I installed Windows 7 on a Mac Pro 09 and now Im not sure if I really need the Boot Camp 3 drivers or not. Its just installed for games and 3D Software. I dont have an USB iSight, obviously, and dont need the media function keys of the keyboard nor I use the Mighty Mouse. Also I dont need iDisk access HFS+ access or Bonjour and what so ever. I mostly run OSX anyway.

So, would it work if I just install the Chipset drivers, Audio, Ethernet and graphics card drivers if I find them?

Or do the Boot Camp drivers have special stuff which I absolutely need?

MacBook Pro :: Finding Boot Camp 3.1 Drivers On A 2007 MBP?

Jan 21, 2010

I have a 2007 Macbook Pro and I just downloaded the new 3.1 boot camp drivers for it, so I can install them in Windows 7.

I've tried running the installer as Administrator but the installation procedure doesn't start and Windows comes up with a message saying that it didn't install correctly.

Whats the trick to getting things to work? I already had to rebuild the Windows 7 install ISO to get past the EFI issues, so I'm wondering whether my machine is not supported.

Presently, I'm using the drivers from my Snow Leopard install DVD which I had to decompress and install one by one. Everything but the track pad seems to be working OK, but it would be nice to get that last thing working.

Windows On Mac :: Finding Nvidia Drivers 179.48 For Boot Camp Xp32?

Feb 19, 2009

I'm in dire need of knowledgable assistance here! I've just purchased a beautiful unibody MBP and loving it. Last night I created an 80gb windows xp32 with sp2 partition using boot camp assistant and everything went perfect. Load up xp and installed the apple "install disc" and all drivers were installed.

My intention is to play games on this partition, so I obviously wanted to install the best video drivers. I haven't updated to sp3 yet, but I downloaded the latest nvidia notebook drivers off their website and specifically d/l'd version 179.48 beta, it's an autoexe file. anyways, upon installation it exits, saying it cannot find the hardware to support the drivers.. ! i then tried installing a few laptopvideo2go drives using their method with the modded inf file and was successful installing these files, but xp soon after reverts to the crappy old vga drivers with an error msg.

Windows On Mac :: I7 MBP Won't Load Boot Drivers After Boot Camp

Jul 6, 2010

Have the new 15" MBP with i7 Processor. I had another MBP with a 7200RPM drive and installed drive in the new i7 Mac. Computer was working fine until I installed Windows via Boot Camp. I can't boot to the Mac Partition any more, the partition is there but when you try to boot to it you just see the Apple logo and NO circle. I cannot boot to the install CDs or a bootable external drive. I target disk mode the computer and used another computer to boot using the drive in the i7 unit and it's fine and I can see all the information. I tried booting the i7 into single user mode and saw the following message:

efiboot loaded from device: Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(1|1)/Ata(Primary,Master)/HD(Part 2,Sig********-****-****-****-************)

Also, the Boot Camp Assistant wants to do some other stuff I don't want it to do before it gets to the driver handling part of the process.

Windows On Mac :: Boot Camp 3.0 Drivers?

Oct 21, 2009

Short story b4 the question. I have Snow Leopard (family pack), and I tried to install Snow Leopard on a 2008 iMac, but when I put in the snow leopard dvd into the iMac, the DVD wouldn't read. Then I looked a bit further and System Profiler said theres no DVD Drive in the comp. Now, I'm trying to install the Windows 7 RC (32-bit) on Boot Camp (on my MacBook Pro), and I don't have the SL DVD to install the drivers. Is there any place I can download the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers thats not from a torrent? (I searched "Boot camp 3.0 drivers" here and couldn't find anything) I have a Leopard DVD, but from what I heard, 2.x boot camp doesn't work well with 7.

Windows On Mac :: Boot Camp 3.0 Drivers Won't Install On Xp Sp3

Nov 7, 2009

So I finally got around to installing the boot camp 3.0 drivers from my SL cd; however, I keep getting this error in which the installer refuses to install the new boot camp drivers. I'm running the 2.1 drivers just fine. The error I get is:

"The installer encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured"

I'm going to try to uninstall the 2.1 drivers and see if I can install the 3.0 again, but I doubt it will work. Others have had this issue:

Has anyone else run into this? I'm running XP sp3. I think this may be an sp3 issue, but I'm not sure how to get around this. I could manually install the 3.0 drivers, but how do I know which ones to choose? Can someone possibly list the drivers on the SL cd that I need to install manually? (I have a late 2009 2.8ghz 15'' unibody macbook pro.

That's the 64-bit Windows version I have on hand and it would be nice to get it to work. I don't suppose the drivers that shipped with the MacBook Air are any newer?

You would think that Apple would jump to support XP x64 given the commercials about people switching back from Vista to XP.

Windows On Mac :: Screen Became Really Dim / Installed Boot Camp Drivers

May 10, 2008

I have just finished installing Vista Ultimate (64 bit) on my new Mac Pro, and the screen is really dark, and I can't seem to get it any brighter.

My graphics card is the Nvidia 8800gt, I am using an old 23" ACD through the ADC/DVI adaptor.

The screen was nice and bright all throughout the installation, but after I installed the boot camp drivers from the Apple install disc, the screen became really dim. If I open the Nvidia control panel and try and change the brightness from there, the screen stays dim, but just gets really washed out.

The weird thing is, it translates back onto the OS X side. When I restart after being in Vista, the display is still very dim - I have to go in the Displays system preferences and manually change the brightness back up from minimum. Conversely, when I boot into Vista having been in OS X, the screen is initially bright through all the login screens, but then switches back to being dark as soon as I have logged in.

There is probably a really simple solution to this, but as I am completely unfamiliar with Vista, I'm stuffed if I can work it out. Any advice is gratefully received.

Windows On Mac :: Boot Camp Keeps Crashing After Drivers Installation?

So I mounted the windows partition again, same thing, over and over, I must have done it 20 times.I even tried doing the bootcamp 2.1 update and it didn't work. So i restored windows to the previous working settings and the bootcamp drivers were gone. So Windows works now but i am not abled to use the wifi or any multi touch or anything. I have also deleted the Windows partition and reinstalled it from the beginning and the same thing happened after installing the bootcamp drivers.

Applications :: BOOT-CAMP Mouse And Keyboard Drivers?

Nov 27, 2009

I seem to be having problems syncing up the mouse and keyboard on the new iMac with boot-camp. For some reason the keyboard is not working at all, and reinstalling boot-camp drivers does nothing. The mouse is recognised however scrolling does not work.

I had this problem before and downloaded microsoft sidewinder mouse. This solved the problem before, but now it doesn't do anything.

I was wondering if anybody knows exactly what the drivers are called for the keyboard and mouse, and how to get the mouse scrolling working? Also once I get the keyboard synced, how do I change the settings so that (for example) the volume controls work.

This is really confusing me, because I'm pretty sure when I installed Windows the scrolling WAS working, but then when I went back to it (admittedly after linking the formatted drive with Parallels) it simply doesn't work properly.
