I have decided to buy a WESTERN DIGITAL VELOCIRAPTOR 300GB 3.5# 10K RPM SATA/300 16MB does it work in Mac Pro 2009? Remember reading something about one version not working. It is marked as WD3000HLFS.

WD's coming out with a new version of the raptor called the 'Velociraptor' and the connectors apparently aren't in the standard position, so it wouldn't work just plugging it into the Mac Pro drive bay.Any ideas for a workaround apart from putting it in one of the optical bays?

Does anyone here use a velociraptor as a boot drive? Have you noticed a big difference in boot time compared to a standard 7200 rpm drive? I have been thinking about getting one of these instead of a SSD because I heard SSDs speed will deminish after time. Also, does anyone use a 15,000 rpm drive as their boot drive? Do you use bootcamp with these fast drives or use a seperate drive?
