I'm using Logic 8 Waveburner. I've got a master CD - which is one long Audio file of a live set performance. I'm using Waveburner to break it up into separate songs or tracks. No Problem - but Waveburner seems to "need" the original master CD to access or display the CD as separate tracks. I've created a wb3 file from it but that seems to be data. I've created a DDP image file but I can't access it after I created it. I just want to burn a new Master CD of the separate tracks I created using Waveburner and the original Master CD. But I have only one (1) Rom drive on my Mac tower. How do I do this? I'm looking up the manual in the meantime. Information: HP Pavilion PC Windows XP Pro

I'm trying to import tracks bounced from Logic into AIFF and ACC, with no success. Waveburner crashes every single time I try this. I deleted the plist from the Library and reopened with no progress. I am using WaveBurner 1.6.1 and can not write CD-Text. Yes, I've checked the Preferences->Burn settings (Write CD-Text Data is on). I have entered all the track data (Titles) and also filled in the fields for CD-Text. The "Burn" dialog box tells me "CD TEXT: Supported". Nevertheless: The finished CD does not include any CD-Text. There isn't an option in Waveburner 1.5 to burn at slower speeds than 8x. Is there a possibility to burn at 4x? How do I in that case do that? I have made a cd with 8 tracks and default pause 2 sec. Now I want to change the pause length to 3 sec. I've tried to change the default setting in pref and also tried to change the pause in the general tab, but it seems that the only way is to move all tracks by hand - is this really true? Just installed Logic 9 and Waveburner wont open any of the links created in L8, I get the message "The document “title” could not be opened. WaveBurner cannot open files of this type". OK I thought let's create a new Waveburner file, I did this, burned a CD, closed the file, and now I can;t open that either. Is this another Snow Leopard thing perhaps?

Logic Studio / Pro :: Logic To Open MIDI Drum Tracks As Separate GM Tracks?
So this is a continuation of a question I posted in another thread (so some of you may recognize the topic), but I have narrowed my problem down to this:when I load a Standard Midi File into Logic 9, all my drum tracks come up as separate tracks (by actual drum) as GM Device. So I have 11+ tracks for drums. One for kick, one for snare, one for...you get the point. This has happened for several files, so it's not limited to one. The tracks have no playback (unless I load QT synth, which sounds like an 80's video game). I posted the file for a few people to DL and try and it loaded correctly for them! Drums are on ONE track and load a Logic drum set (not GM on separate tracks).So the question is: Why is MY copy of Logic behaving this way and others are not? Is this a simple setting? When importing a 16 bit file into a 24 bit project should I convert the file to 24 bits or keep the original 16 bit depth? I'm aware that the sample rate is converted to the projects sample rate when importing files as long as the corresponding checkbox is enabled in the project settings - assets pane. I'm also aware that conversion can be done at a later state after importing, but I'm curious about the best or proper approach. Should this be done prior to importing or should the file be kept in it's original state (16 bits)? If you could provide the chapter or page of the manual. I have just finished the audio on a feature I'm working on in Logic 7.2.3. After I bounce it and put the file back in the sequence, however, the waveform of the new file does not match/if off sync with the waveform of the original material on there. I am totally confused as to why this is happening. Opening up the Audio window, I see the sample rate of the original files are 44100. The bounced sample rate is the same as well, but it's still off. I am looking for a simple (or any) way to fade the left or right channel of a region separately from the other channel. For example region A, left channel fades out before the right channel and then region B, left channel fades in first. it's only in WB the Problem. LA works fine. But when first open Protools than quit and open Waveburner the Rainbowheel is comin. Only Hardkill Waveburner quits it. Help! My mixes sound great but then after I bounce them they sound totally different. I get a nice mix going in the "arrange" section. Every track is going to "output 1-2". Logic Studio / WaveBurner :: Very Large File Created When Replacing Track?
When I replace a track in a WaveBurner file, the size of the WaveBurner file will increase from about 2MB to 450+MB. The only way I've figured out to get the file size down is to create a new WaveBurner file and reimport all of the tracks and then reinstating all of the plug-ins. (I've expedited this process by creating saved plug-in chains for each song in the file. Then I just need to load the plug-in chain for each song.) Logic Studio / WaveBurner :: Update Info About Sample Rate Conversion
I've been using Waveburner since it was an OS 9 application but this was new to me. I was mastering a CD for a friend of mine when I noticed that 5 of the eleven tracks I had been given were 48k files after I had already given out a first run off the master just for them to listen to. I was finishing up mastering it for real when I looked at the inspector and I noticed for the first time that the first track was at 48 along with four others. 5 tracks at 48 six tracks at 44.1 My first reaction is that I'm need to call and get some 44,1 files or convert them myself in Logic. But I start thinking, why did it work the first time I made a CD? So I bounced the project as is and made what should be close to the final just to see what would happen. It worked. I have an EQ on each track with a Limiter on the mix that I adjust gain with in the Mix Lane. I didn't think a 48k audio file would even play in waveburner let alone be sample rate converted during the bounce. I don't hear any bad sounding artifacts at all with the converted tracks. My paranoid self makes me think I should replace them with 44.1 files before I do the bounce and I may at this point, but I'm not sure I will be able to tell any difference. The final sounds great. I was looking for update information mentioning sample rate conversion but I can't seem to find any. I guess I missed the memo. Information: Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.6.5)

When I bounce a song after mastering it in waveburner, the 'time' function shows 6:45:48 which unfortunately indicates that the song is 6 hours long, however it is only 4:10 (4 minutes, 10 seconds). Does somebody know if apple fixed one of the worst things of logic 8 meaning it was impossible to reorganize the tracks from the mixer by drag & drop and have them stay in place whatever modification you want to do to the tracks. Is it also possible to have aux tracks appear in the mixer and not in the arrange window ? When I have one aux track to control the total volume of all my drums I don't need to have it displayed in the arrange and take unnecessary space. Display only in the mixer is enough. I am going to purchase (finally) my first Macbook Pro this Friday. I still can't make up my mind between the 17" or the 15". I am also a student and sometimes feel that the 15" would be better because of its size, weight, and lower resolution (bigger font size). But, of course, it doesn't have an Express Card slot, which limits me to daisychaining. I like the 17" just fine, and would put up with the higher cost and resolution, if it means that I will have better experiences recording music on it. I am a very serious musician and will finally be exploring the world of the home DAW, so I want to purchase the computer that will give me the least amount of worry. Also, any suggestions for external hard drives?

The HUI layer seems to allow me to control these in terms of Fader, Pan, Solo, Mute etc but I cannot use the Insert or Aux Send controls (either On/Off buttons or level encoders) that work fine on regular Tracks. If I convert an Aux Channel to a Track obviously they work fine, but I would rather keep them as Auxes. So is there a way for HUI to control Inserts/Sends on an Aux Channel?
