Logic Studio / Pro :: MIDI Region Splitting - Get Aux Channels To Appear Onto Arrange Page?
If created something in Ultrabeat for example, which has multiple instrument capabilities, and i then drag the sequence onto the arrange page, it comes up as a complete loop in one region. There are two things I would like to find out. If you want to then use that instance of Ultrabeat for multi channel purpose you can either: create the relevant aux channels in Stereo or MIDI and assign the outputs of each sequenced channel from ultrabeat to the Aux busses thus allowing you to control each channel outside of Ultrabeat. Or you can create the relevant amount of instrument channels originally and make them all sub channels to Ultrabeat.

My question is can you somehow get the Aux channels to appear onto the arrange page so that i can draw in a MIDI region and create the relevant events for each channel assigned to each of the AUX busses? also if i do the latter option and create the mulit instrument from the start and create one region dragged from ultrabeat, is there an easy way then of splitting the region onto all of the assigned channels so that i can edit them accordingly? what i had to do was copy the region onto all of the cahnnels and open each of them and delete the events key by key in the Piano Roll

Logic Studio / Pro :: Aux Channels For Multi-out EZDrummer In Logic 9
Having set my EZD plug-in instrument to multi-out(8 x stereo)in the Logic mixer channel, and also in EZDs' mixer, pressing the '+' button on the instrument channel will only create one -mono- aux channel. However, if i switch this aux to stereo, '+' will allow the creation of another mono channel which must be switched to stereo to allow.and so forth. The problem is that these aux channels then have no audio running through them.

IMac Intel :: Left Channel Audio Is Routed To Both Channels. How To Fix This
Something happened to my 20" iMac Core Duo. Today when I turned on my computer and played a Stereo song, I noticed that there was something missing. Both speakers had sound coming from them, but it wasn't right. So I checked "Sound" in "System Preferences" and under Output, balance is set to the center. So both speakers are on. When I set the balance to the left, left channel is clearly heard through both speakers. When I set the balance to the right, no sound is heard at all. I also used the "Audio Midi Setup" utility, and it also showed both channels on. But the test again only proved that the left channel had somehow connected itself to both speakers and the right channel was dead. Has anyone had this problem before? What did you do about it? Is this a common with these models? I know this one is going to be a classic because it was in-between the G5 and the Core 2 Duo. So I would like it to work correctly for as long as possible.

Logic Studio / Pro :: None Of Strip Channels Controllers Get Automated
I can't imagine that this is something that Logic missed out, probably just an oversight on my part, but I've dedicated some time to this and still no answer, so here goes: I use Logic 8.0, Ive noticed that with the exception of volume level automation, None of logic's strip channel controllers get automated, including pan, buses, etc. In other words, I set up logic for Touch/Latch mode, I press play, if I move the volume level it will write nodes as it goes along, but if I try and manipulate any other controller, via the channel strip or external control surface I get nothing, the only thing i get is the overall value of the specific controller Im trying to manipulate will move, but it wont "create nodes" as I go along, even when in touch/latch/write modes. When I try to assign an "other..." controller number in Hyper Draw, sometimes it freezes, and sometimes it just wont select a different controller, but simply stay on Bank MSB.

1) After I set up a multi timbrel software instrument (in this case MOTU Symphonic Library) how do I set up midi channels to trigger the individual sounds in the instrument. (in pro tools I used to create a midi track then send an output of that track to that particular soft synth)

2) How do I set up a and forgive my Pro Tools vocab but basically I want to set up a reverb channel on an aux track have it receive on a bus so I can send other tracks to that particular bus.

Logic Studio / Pro :: Logic 9 No Audio Output / Core Audio Driver
I use a Digidesign MBox2 as an interface and since having upgraded to Logic 9 Logic seems to sporadically loose connection to the Digi core audio driver. The driver is still available in the Audio setup window but requires the buffer size to be altered and applied and audio output works resumes. Logic 8 did this every now and then but in logic 9 it's rather consistent, and regardless of buffer size used.

I have noticed this happens mostly when moving an audio region while in play (Play in general, not while that audio file is being played). Since upgrading the system to 10.5.8 Audio seems to glitch in Logic a whole lot more to the point where midi and Instruments still play but any Audio tracks drop out as if they were muted.

Mac QuickTime :: Apple Trailers And 5.1 Audio Channels - Two Channels Substituted For Six?
Last year, when HD trailers would release on Apple's trailer page, the trailers contained six channels of audio, creating a surround sound experience. Through Quicktime, one could inspect the audio elements of the trailer, and extract specific channels. For instance, if I wanted to listen to the voice overs without the music, I could just extract the center track from the trailer.

Lately, I've noticed that every trailer I download is encoded in stereo, containing only left and right channels. Instead of the six channels that once existed, there are now only two. Thus, I don't have the freedom that Quicktime once allowed in terms of separating channels, listening to isolated bits, etc., not to mention that the trailers are no longer true 5.1 surround sound.

Logic Studio / MainStage :: Investing In New I / O With Multiple Output Channels?
I've been using Mainstage on and off now for about a year in live use as a virtual instrument driver. Have recently upgraded to Mainstage 2 and wanted to venture into backing tracks and sending a click track to the rest of the band. I currently only have a 2-channel output USB audio interface. I'm happy to mix the backing track together with my keys for routing to the FOH and monitoring. I'm wondering though if it is ok to use my Macbook Pro's internal audio for the click track or are there good reasons why I would be better off investing in new I/O with multiple output channels?

Logic Studio :: Find A Bug With Start And Stop Of Playback Channels?
I am having a problem with playback channel strips in Mainstage 2. They don't start with the space-bar. I have to double-click the channel strip and start them using the play button which makes it rather unwieldy for a real concert. The space bar works to stop them, but not to restart them again. All of my playback tracks come from Logic 8 and possibly earlier (a recording spanning 5 years). I added a click track to each song because Mainstage is not getting the tempo from the tempo track in the songs (I guessed this was because they weren't logic 9 songs). I made the click track start before the first marker so I would get a count-in and pushed it to the left-side so I can play the track without click in mono.

Logic Studio / MainStage :: Preloaded Virtual Instruments - Not Limited To 16 Channels
I'm fairly new to MainStage. I just created a nice starting point after modified a Template. While the meat and potatoes of my restaurant gig is playing an acoustic piano, I want to now add:

1) Singing into mainstage with a USB mic,
2) Run the audio of a drum machine into the built-in line in,
3) Want to play occasional instrumental intros, licks, fills and leads on a MIDI keyboard (MidiStart) that has no on board sounds into MainStage sounds via USB.

So far so good. Here is the problem. The controlling restaurant manager does not like to see my computer between songs at work, so. I will tuck the computer in my music book case left open 10 degrees to prevent shut off for the entire shift. This will work. But, I want to play Alto sax sounds for "Careless Whisper," and E. Guitar for Beatles "Something", trumpet sound for "Longer" The Midi start keyboard has a SHIFT button which allows you to send Bank changes, patch changes and change the channel.

I already set this up in Logic and preloaded 16 virtual instruments, one waiting on each MIDI receive channel. But I would much rather do this in mainstage and not be limited to 16 channels. What is the best way to set this up in logic. So that I can create a different sound for each of many different songs. Via program change without going to my computer between songs?

Logic Studio / Pro :: Sending Audio From Logic To External Hardware Effects, And Back Into Logic?
I am currently trying to send audio from Logic to external hardware effects and then record this back into Logic. My audio interface is a Edirol UA-25 which has only two outputs '1 and 2'.I understand that I could create an 'aggregate device' which would create two more ins + outs being '3 & 4'.I also understand that would need to use the Logic I/O plug in configuring this routing.

When treating the audio via the external hardware I particularly only want to hear the audio being processed and not the original 'uneffected' signal. Can someone please explain if I am able to do all of this with just the UA-25, and if so, then how.

I also tried dragging files from the audio bin but every file in there has an exclamation mark next to it, and when i drag it into the arrange window it is greyed out!I dont get this, if it opens fine and plays all the audio on the studio comp, how come theyre all missing when I open it at home?!!

Logic Studio / Pro :: Logic 8 To Gigastudio PC Back To Logic 8 In Audio?
I apologize if this is out there somewhere but I have been patiently looking for months and haven't found the exact answer I am looking for. Hopefully you all can help me out.

I run my DAW (logic studio 8) on a MacBookPro. I have a perfectly running Gigastudio3 machine that I want to make slave to this Logic DAW. I have read things about Midioverlan and iMidi and a few others like FX etc. However, none of them seem to be doing what I need or I am missing the fact that they do (or they don't support OS X <-> Windows).

I also own Vienna Instruments and it comes with "Vienna Ensemble 3" which allows me to install a service on both machines, allowing my Windows PC (which is 10 times as powerful as my MAC) do all the processing of the samples, reverb etc. It then sends the AUDIO back over the lan without any jitter or loss of data etc and latency. I love it and so I am looking for some way to do this with my Giga setup since I own so many libraries which are GIGA only. I want to be able to send out Midi commands (that I have recorded from live playback) from Logic to the Gigastudio Windows PC, then have it send me back all the processed data (because my Lavry DAC's are all hooked up to my RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface2 on my MAC). So I want the actual Midi commands sent from Logic to trigger Giga to play it back through the samples I have loaded in Giga3, then send back the information to Logic and out my DAC's. I hope that makes sense. Midioverlan seems to only send midi information which then I would have to have my DAC's local to the GIGA machine, not my LOGIC machine and I don't want that because I am using other samplers on my Logic DAW.

I have a Hammerfall DSP Multiface2 on my MacBookPro and an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 on my Giga machine.I am hoping someone can tell me how to link the two the best way. If worst came to worst, I am willing to cut a whole in the wall (professionally) and run either midi cables or whatever it takes between the two soundcards to make this happen. I just need to know what is the best way to accomplish this.

Logic Studio / Pro :: Core Audio Crashes When Logic Loads?
Logic 8 and Garageband both crash when they load. If I turn off Core Audio during loading by Control clicking the Logic icon, Logic does load but without audio. In I then enable Core Audio, Logic crashes right away. If I take out all the audio plugins from the Library (none in user), it makes no difference. I have taken out the Logic preferences from the User Library. It did not fix the problem. I have looked for anything to do with Melodyne and Rewire on my system did not fine anything I could solve the problem with.

Strangely, Sibelius or Sound Track Pro do not have this problem (not using Core Audio?). I was advised by someone to download the Pro Application Support Runtime. However, older versions of this (4.02) will not install on my computer, and the newer ones seem to be only for Final Cut Studio and will not accept a Logic serial number.

It seems I have a serious corruption problem with Core Audio. I do not know what to do with Core Audio as it does not seem to be an actual application that I can trash and replace. Nor do I know of any Core Audio preferences to trash.
