I had iMac 27" i7 using MAC OSX 10.7 How do I restore OS my system back to factory default without using internet, this iMac doesnt come with OS system DVD, look like you have to installed from internet but wi-fi internet around here only 54g very slow to download and install, I called Apple to requested the system DVD since it doesnot come with my MAC and Apple said they will charged 29.99 plus shipping, very upset, is there any other way to download this OS system on your HD so next time when you need it again
So here's my question:I've owned my share of MacBook Pro's, so I'm somewhat familiar, but not an expert. I got my mini last Friday from cowboom (a Best Buy affiliate), and since it's a pre-owned, it only came with the power cable and HDMI to DV-I adapeter. For those that ordered these, a majority of the people posted that it did not come with an OS, but the Internet Restore option fixed the trick. So I powered it on and got the flashing folder with the question mark. No OS. I did the Internet recovery and ran it through all the way to the the reinstall Lion screen. When asking what drive to install it on, there were no drives. I closed the installer and ran the disk utility and the only available drive was some basic drive that had a capacity less than 2GB. No other drives. I booted from my Lion that's on USB, but there's no drive to install it on. Any suggestions? I checked the warranty and the warranty cannot be verified. Some buyers said they had warranty from 8 months and up. One said his warranty showed starting from the day he restored his mac. I'm guessing because it was never registered I made an appointment tomorrow to take it to apple but is there something that can help avoid the trip?
For specific reasons, I needed to connect my Synology DS211 NAS to my iMac directly via its ethernet port. I discovered that if I share my wireless internet connection (coming from my cable modem/wireless router) from wireless to ethernet, then the NAS would get the IP stuff it needed to show up. did that, voila, NAS is acting like a glorified external hard drive. BUT, when I did that, I lost all internet connectivity on my iMac. Still have full wireless signal. preferences pane says I'm fully connected to my network with an IP address, but safari always fails to pull up any webpages, saying I'm not connected to the internet. As soon as turn off the ethernet PORT, it all starts working again. And to make it even crazier, I discovered that if I leave sharing my wireless internet via my ethernet port ON, but turn off the ethernet port (in pref pane), I can STILL access the NAS just like before. That makes no sense - I'm sharing my internet via a port I have turned off, but it works? Anyway, why would Iose my airport wireless internet connection when the ethernet port is on - configured manually?

I would like to restore my OS to 10.7.2 after the upgrade to 10.7.3. I have time machine, and backups before and after the fatal update. But I worked between and created files so I do not want to completely restore my system but only the OS / system part.
Ok so i have one of the 2011 Imac desktop models so i didnt get the dvd's. I want to know how to restore/format my computer and start over because its been running really slow lately. i was told by a apple consultant that if you hold in the "option" key on startup of the computer that it will bring you to a point where you can restore but i dont know what to do from there. how to restore/format my Imac so that its like when i first bought it. Lastly i would like step by step instructions on how to do this restore/format. I dont have any important files so im prefectly fine with erasing everything.Â
When I download a font, I drag & drop it in to Macintosh HD - Library - Fonts. I basically want to restore the fonts in this folder to the ones that came with my Mac, so I can start from scratch, and catalogue where I get fonts from, make sure they're from a reputable source etc. So how do I do this? I thought I could restore from Time Machine, but I can't, as I imported everything across from my old iBook & the fonts were messy on there too. I tried logging in as Admin rather than my user, but they're not "original" there either. I also wondered if I could do it from the original install disk, but it looks like I'd have to reinstall the whole system, which I don't want to do! I could manually delete the ones that shouldn't be there if anyone has a list of the originals..?Â
I want to restore to factory settings and start all over with the migration...nothing moved from my old mac to new one the right way and not all of my stuff transfered so i just want to start over.
Is there a way to restore a published iWeb site? I went to update my site and when I opened iWeb it came up as a 3 month old file that I had long ago deleted. What happened?
I am looking to restore the factory settings on my imac (late 2009) and also my macbook air. Is somebody able to give me a step by step guide, or point me to a link, that would give me the detailed info ? I want to make sure that all my passwords, details, files, etc are all deleted from the machines and then restored to factory settings?
My Hard Drive is crashing per Hard Drive extended testing. I had noted in last 6 months certain strange things especially after software updates in which difficult in restarting. Now the OS X will not load even after working with Apple and running repairs of disc and permissions.
I am going to Apple Store with appointment to have them fix the problem.
My question is how to restore my backups which I have two main ones: the most current is .Mac Backup. My External Hard Drive was full backup but on July 5 2009.
Something went wrong on my mac last week. I noticed that backup couldn't complete so I restarted. Then I could no longer login to my main account (admin), but could login to my daughter and wife's managed account and could create a new admin account. I assumed this was a key chain issue so gave up trying to access and decided to restore from time machine. 2 restores (72 hrs each) and the mac will not boot after the restore. I have the ever spinning pin wheel for 24 hrs already. What can I do to get all my docs back? I don't think it's a hard drive issue (1.5TB) installed almost 6 mths ago.

I have wiped my calendar data and cannot find how to restore it from Time Machine. Have looked at several posts but my problem is that I cannot find my Library/Calendar location or any iCal files. What should I look for and could the files be hidden?
I can't restore my address book from external backup. I have all the files in Library/ApplicationSupport/Addressbook. I have tried to move them into the machine hard dirve and restart, but that is not working. I have also tired to move two adressbook plist files from preferences and that did not help. Don't know what to do next.
I recently installed a couple font management tools and ever since I have noticed that I don't have the full list of default system fonts. Below is a screenshot of what I have. I notice that there are a lot of missing fonts that should be there such as Georgia, Trebuchet, Verdana and many more. Is there a way to reinstall them or restore them? I tried the restore Standard Fonts option in Font Book but says no problems encountered. I also downloaded a program called Pacifist but don't know what to do next.
is it possible to undo a Time Machine restore on a new setup and start again? I had an iMac that I backed up to Time Machine and then bought a new iMac (May 2012). When setting up the new iMac I chose to install a copy of my old iMac from Time Machine. The new iMac is now a perfect copy of the old one..... only I really just wanted a totally fresh start. Can I undo this process so that I can set up the new iMac as if it is just a new computer and can this be done without damaging the backup of the old iMac that I have on my Time Capsule? Lastly, can I subsequently just take the photos that are part of the old iMac backup on the Time Capsule and save those to my new iMac.Â
In Numbers and only in Numbers the topmost menu bar has vanished to present a 'full screen' spreadsheet. In Pages the topmost menu bar appears as normal.
How do I restore the topmost menu bar in Numbers?I have looked in vain through 'System Preferences' and used Time Machine to go back to a spreadsheet that displayed correctly but that didn't work.
