Mar 21, 2012Never mind my intentions or motivation, Pro Tools HD 8 isnt qualified for 10.6.8 and was running perfect with 10.6.7 and I need to get back to it or else Im going to fall behind and start losing money on the projects Im working on... Really, what I and everyone else interested need to know is how to do it precisely, without losing any pre-installed data, just like when I updated. I just downloaded 10.6.7 combo update because I only have the 10.6.6 CD.. And Im making data backups and cloning my existing OS to a different drive using CCC, just in case. By the way, the apple article about restoring is useless, seeing how it pertains to Lion now and this involves OSX, and Im not trying to "restore" my system, implying something malfunctioned, plus I never set up time machine.Â

Apr 14, 2012Timeline won't back up because it says there is not enough space on my external drive. This never happened before.I have 10.6.8. I just restored my new hard drive from Timeline. It was an easy restoration. The first time I backed up on Timeline, it said there was not enough space. I do have my external drive partitioned. I thought old backups were deleted when the space was needed.

I have deleted old backups, excluded unnecessary files, and cleaned out folders. It says 157.46GB available of 159.7GB; but when it backs up it says it requires 188.30GB but only 157.46GB are available. Â

Jun 7, 2012My hard and back up disk both failed on the same day, strange but the kids were on the computer and things happen.Running Mac OS 10.6 I paid $800 to "super geeks" to recover the pics > 30,000 (many duplicates)I will receive a 500 gig external drive from them today via Fed Ex with the pics recovered . My plan is to move them to my iMac (had a new HD put in) but I do not want to transfer 30,000 pics priorto running duplicate annihilator & thumbnail annihilator on the new external drive. Is there an easy way to do this > looking for help?Can I run the programs on the recovered drive I will receive today prior to my transferring? Or is there a more efficient way of doing this.

Jun 29, 2012so, i messed up trying to move iphoto to an external hard drive, after some help the ex hd is wiped clean just like new and i have managed to ensure my photos are stil on my imac, hoorah! but in the process i disconnected iphoto from the application, but i got them back together again, so iphoto is in finder like new. only now i would like it back in the dock where it belongs. i am sure i knew how to do this once but have since forgotten. part two of my question is that iphoto now has no backups for browsing on time machine.
