View 1 RepliesI have an iMac Core 2 Duo (Late 2007) running OS X Lion 10.7 and the latest version of iTunes. The computer is set up with 2 user accounts. Yesterday I tried to open iTunes, and the app opens for a second, displays the music library, and then immediately quits. I get the message "iTunes has quit unexpectedly", with the options to ignore, report, or relaunch. Relaunching results in the exact same thing, with the program quitting right away.
I have tried: going back to a previous version of iTunes from my Time Machine backup, deleting iTunes .plist files, and re-downloading and installing iTunes from Apple's website all to no avail. The weird thing is, on the other user account, iTunes opens and runs just fine. They are running off different libraries. What else to try to get iTunes working again?
Just upgraded to 10.6 Snow Leopard. Awesome OS, but one thing bugs me: Since upgrading, whenever I activate my screensaver the default Flurry one appears for about 2 or 3 seconds, before immediately taking me to my locked screen window. I don't touch the mouse or keyboard or anything, it just refuses to show the screensaver for more than a couple seconds. I hit esc and it works for a bit longer, but soon enough displays the login window again. Has anyone had this problem after upgrading? It has been fine before (10.4, 10.5...up until now).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to Macs so please excuse my lack of knowledge or skill on this platform. Mail crashes each time I opening it. Meaning it opens then immediately quits with a report. I did a safe boot and ran system utilities which said everything was fine. I don't know what to do next.

Mac version 5.4 with iPhone app. Up to now the desktop version has worked flawlessly but now it will not launch - the password window flashes, then quits immediately. Downloaded the latest DMG and reinstalled, but the problem remains.
Starting a few days ago when I double click a folder on the desktop it no longer opens. Instead, I am taken to a new desktop window that shows the folder clicked plus all other items on the desktop. How do I restore the double click to open the folder? I have tried resetting the double click speed with no results.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Printer that requires me to run the HP Device Manager. My issue is that it is taxing my CPU % it runs anywhere between 90% to 200% even higher some times and is using up 2.93 GB of my Vertual Memory.I can turn it off but it's not a very long term solution to have to remember that all the time.Â

I have a wireless keyboard that came with my iMac in late 2007, and a magic mouse I just bought last year. The last few months I can't keep them charged. I bought new batteries, didn't help. I realized I have had the same charger for a number of years, so I bought a new one, didn't help. I bought brand new non-re-chargeable batteries, I put them in and they work at least but I immediately get the warning that they are critically low. Â

Is there any way to disable the ability to open the Startup Manager by pressing the option key?

I'm trying to sort out a problem with a mid-2007 iMac. When trying to start it up normally it would get past the Apple screen, then go onto a blue screen with a cursor and stay there.Â
I made a bootable Snow Leopard USB drive to try and repair the disk / re-install the OS. Plugged in the USB drive, and tried to boot the iMac into startup manager by holding down the option key. But instead of showing the volumes to launch startup manager, it keeps bringing up a grey screen with the Firewire logo on, which I believe is what happens when launching into Target Disk Mode.

My 2.33gh intel core 2 is acting erratic. The finder quits, stalls and freezes...it turns off and then reappears. Programs fail. adobe will not run. It was on during the huge electrical storm last weekend. It started acting like this after. It was on a surge protector, but those are not 100%.
I can get a ways into backing up files. I am attempting to install Lion, but I did not journal the partition. And It looks like I have to clean install and erase the HD. If power surge did damage, software will not work. Does the finder issue look like electrical damage?

I've been struggling to move my data (photos / music etc) from my old G5 imac to my new imac (lion).Had iphoto all sorted (copied the files from external HD to Pictures folder. But now when I click on 'photos' it opens terminal (!!??)*I can see the files within but only if I CTRL click and choose 'open package'.I really don't understand. I just opened iphoto and it says I have to 'upgrade' again.I did just attempt to open the original iphoto library which is still on the connected hard drive but I didn't upgrade and don't know why that would affect the duplicate library on my new imac?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Mac is missing codes or something, all the software was up to date but I'm unable to view a lot of web content. Google programs won't let me sign in and Safari keeps shutting down. I'm unable to save files to the time machine or airport or a flash drive that's formated for mac. I finally gave up on saving my things and using the recovery disks that came with my computer I reinstalled the system. It took an hour for the disk to run and then I used the second disk to install the apps. However, when the computer rebooted all of my things are still there. MSN messenger for mac, divx, aim, and some other programs that I had installed seprately after purchasing the computer. I wanted factory settings. I told it to formate the hard drive. They might be what's causing my problems? Also, why does the delete button keep taking me off this board and I can't see what I'm typing it keeps scrolling off page!

It reads commercial CD's fine but any CDR shows up as a blank CD. This happens with multiple brands and the CDR's play in a car stereo and are read by other computers. I can burn blank CDR's just fine. The problem is recognizing the content once they have been burned. I have seen this issue posted as far back as 2008 on some boards but no solutions other than replace the superdrive. I find it hard to believe that I would have a bad drive already given Apple's reputation for great products and the age of my computer especially since the warranty just expired in October.
