ISync :: How To Get Rid Of CPU Crashing Mingler Process

How can I get rid off the cpu-crashing "mingler" Process? I called Apple Phone-support - they couldn't really help. In addition: it's not possible to delete external calendars; they only dissapear shortly after pushing the delete-button. Then they appear and the never ending sync process goes on. CPU-fan ist blowing and my macbook becomes hot.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a good osx based alternative to Process Explorer on windows - what I'd like to be able to do is graph CPU and memory for a specific process and ideally see what network connections a specific process has open. atMonitor seems to do this pretty well generally, but not for specific processes (this is for monitoring a multiplayer flash game).

OS X :: SH Process - Taking So Much CPU Power
So I've been noticing the fans on my MBP were starting to run pretty hard today which never happens. I checked the activity monitor and I have a process called SH (127) that was eating up like 12-15% of CPU. Does anybody know what this process is? Why is it taking so much CPU horsepower?

Power Mac G5 :: Activity Monitor Process 95% CPU
The fans on my PowerMac G5 have been running constantly at pretty loud rate. Way louder and constant than usual. I took a look in Activity monitor and there was a process named "mipcore" that was using 95% of the CPU. Every time I forced quit it, it would re-appear.

-What is it?
-How can I get rid of it?
-How can I keep it from coming back?

I use this Mac for work and I am in the middle of several very big projects. I also want to try and get another 2 years out of this machine. This is a production machine and I only install quality software on it and keep the system very clean.

Snow Leopard :: Why Fontworker Process Taking So Much CPU
I discovered that as soon as you use Apple's Font Book to resolve any font problems (validation, duplicates, etc.), it awakens a background process called "fontworker". This will take up to 100% of the CPU for brief periods of time, mostly when switching to or starting new applications. It has created a lag that was not there before I used Font Book (Snow Leopard had otherwise been fantastic for my MacBook Pro). The only way to get rid of this problem (as "fontworker" will seemingly persist once it's been awakened), is to reinstall 10.6. That's clearly a pain to have to do every time one uses Font Book. Is there anybody that has any insight here? This has been brought up by a few people, with no answers.

OS X :: Unknown Process Hogging CPU & RAM?
For the last week, my Mac has been running very slow. Even when I don't have any apps open, it still lags. I opened up Activity Monitor to see what is going on. I see that a root process "AgentDaemon" is taking up almost all my CPU and RAM.

When I try to quit (or force quit) this process in the Activity Monitor, it will go away for a second and then come right back.

Does anyone know what purpose the "AgentDaemon" serves? And why is it hogging all my CPU and RAM?

OS X Leopard :: Translator Process Hogging CPU - Causing Crashes
So in the past few weeks, my machine has seemed slower and slower each day. In the past week, my mouse will jump across my 2 screens erratically. I thought it was either the mouse or USB port so tried different configurations until it occurred to me that, on random days, after a random startup; all is well. I popped open the Activity Monitor and now can confirm my problem. My machine works great when the process "Translator" behaves itself. Every time I get the erratic mouse, slow window response and (every time) an eventual freezing of my screen requiring forced restart - Translator is hogging all my CPU. If I sample it, my machine crashes to a freeze. It I get more info on it, I can see that Translator has to do with syncservices (why do so many problems on 10.5 have to do with syncservices?).

I have tried Googling for more info on it, but there doesn't seem to be anything out there. If I force quit it (standard quit doesn't work), my system will hang. I know the standard next steps (create a new user account and migrate files sans ~/Library, re-install OS, etc.) but am afraid that the problem will resurface if ties to syncservices (I do use Mobileme to sync, have an iPhone and an iPod). I guess I'm looking for more info before proceeding with drastic and time intensive measures that may very well yield the same problem despite the effort. It is worth noting that it took 5 full minutes for me to correct my spelling in this post due to the erratic mouse. Good times. I am off to restart - again. "Translator" is process ID 1027 running under my user account. Its at over 100% of my CPU. Its "Open Files and Ports" report is as follows:

Powermac G4 Dual 1Ghz Quicksilver
Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Snow Leopard :: Microsoft Sync Process Hogging CPU Power
Following the update to 10.6.5 a process called Microsoft Sync, which shows up in iStat with an Entourage icon, has been eating up the processing capacity, causing the fan to spin up to 6200 rpm. A force quit of the process through Activity Monitor works but the process keeps coming back, even after reboots. I don't use Entourage, though all programs of Office 2004 are installed on this 1st-generation Intel MacBook. Microsoft's support was of no help, so I wonder if someone here may know what's happening and how to curtail Microsoft Sync. One thing I haven't tried, but may is to remove Office 2004 and reinstall only Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Snow Leopard :: System Process Taking Up All My CPU's Processing Power / Stop It?
Anyone know how I can stop it. my entire computer is laggy because of it.

I opened "Activity Monitor" and there is a process named: syslogd , user: root . And it has been constantly been eating up 120-130% CPU (currently 128.7% CPU).

I have tried clicking the red stop sign "Quit Process", it then asks to force quit and prompts for password. After typing it in, It quits it for like 1/2 a sec. and it pops back up.

My computer has been running hot and the fans are constantly running on top of that it takes my computer 5-10 sec.s just to start a song in iTunes. which use to be instant.

I am running OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) on a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 8 GB of RAM my computer should not be lagging just to play an iTunes Song.

Snow Leopard :: Mingler Devouring Real Memory
For about half the time my machine is on, it's basically devoted to running something called "Mingler". I gather from other threads that this process has something to do with syncing with MobileMe, but this can't be how it's intended to work. Has anyone come up with a durable solution (short of resetting everything associated with "sync services", which I've already done at least twice since upgrading to 10.6, for unrelated reasons)? OS X :: Process "kernel Task" Taking Up Almost 100% Of CPU?
A few hours ago, I noticed my MBP start hanging and generally processing very slow. Apps would freeze at random times, and generally a lot of odd behavior.

I checked the activity monitor to see what might be causing this. It turns out, the process "kernel_task" is using almost 100% of my CPU. It has stayed within the 70-100% range, and has yet to go down. I tried many things, including restarting my Mac many times, but it remains the same.

Does anyone know why "kernel_task" is taking up so much of my CPU? Is there a way to somehow "reset" the process to get it back to normal?

P.S. I attached a screenshot of the process in the Activity Monitor. You can view it here:

EDIT: I just want to add that I think the "kernel_task" might have started eating CPU when I stopped a RAR program in the middle of extracting an archive. I'm not 100% sure though that this is when the problem started.
