IMac Intel :: Trying To Connect To Time Capsule?

When I try to access Screensavers or the Photo Browser option on Mail, I get an w=error message pop up saying

"Connection failed There was an error connectiong to the served "Wood Time Capsule". Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If you are unable to resolve the problem contact your system administrator."

I have an OK button to press but pressing it does not make the error message go away or allow me to do anything other than shut down the offending application.

I have repaired permissions, etc, until I am blue in the face, and I can access the time capsule using Finder with no problems whatsoever.

How do I either stop it looking for the Time Capsule or repair the path to it please?

OS X :: How To Connect With IMac Wireless Range And New Time Capsule
I have a 2006 Intel iMac (Running 10.6.1)that is not seeing my wireless routers (D-Link 628 and Time Capsule Dual-channel). The D-Link is downstairs. It is not in the best place, but at my only option. My Macbook Pro sees the D-link fine on the same desk as the iMac. I replaced the D-Link with the Time Capsule and the iMac doesn't even see that. If I bring it close (completely underneath the desk) to the iMac it will see both routers. The weird part is before a hard drive crash and replacement it worked fine (I know, I know something is amiss from the replacement).

PowerPC :: Unable To Connect Imac G4 And Time Capsule Wireless
I have a dual band time capsule working wirelessly with 3 macs all intel (24 iMac, mbp 13, mb 13) with no issues. I was trying to connect a 17" flat panel G4 to the same wireless network on the time capsule and it fails to see the network.

When I type in the network name and password (WPA) it comes back with "encryption method not supported by the wireless network". Although all the others macs are working on this same network using the same encryption, the old iMac refuses to play nice. Is there something else I've overlooked?

I want to Back Up a new WD External Hard drive with Time Machine to My Time Capsule. It is formatted to FAT32, as I read here that it should be. It is excluded in the Time Machine Settings Settings and I try to delete it with the Minus Sign, but for some reason it wont let me. IMac Intel :: Time Capsule Not Backing Up
I have just bought the new iMac, replacing a PPC based one. Target mode transfer was a breeze, but now the new iMac won't back up to TC. TC can see it, no problem but it says there isn't enough space on the TC disc. But I thought TC was meant to self delete the oldest back ups in order to keep enough space for the newest back ups. I'm trying to manually delete older back ups to free up space, but it's taking an age.

After installation I wanted to transfer some data from my Time Capsule to my iMac (wireless). The transfer was working, but it was much slower than between my MacBook and the TC. I've tried it several times, but it's always the same.

Example:

My MacBook needs 30 Minutes to transfer 6GB of data (one file) and the iMac needs about 2 hours.

IMac Intel :: Time Capsule Can Backup Both Internal And External HD
I would like to upgrade my internal HD as I am running out of memory. It is currently sitting at 45GB however I know this will get eaten up alot after the holiday home movies are added. I do have an external HD which I use for itunes content. My concern is that if something happens to my EHD, I will lose everything since it is not backed up. My internal HD is backed up using time capsule so my home movies are safe. I guess my questions are:

1. Can an internal HD be easily added (I would get someone at the apple store to do this)
2. If not, can I move my imovie's to my EHD and can the time capsule back up both my internal and external HD?

IMac Intel :: Connected To Time Capsule But Doesn't Show It
One minute, things were fine, so I took a break. About 30 minutes later, I cam back and no internet. I tried leaving then rejoining the network. It worked, but didn't. The iMac logged on, showed it was connected, but wouldn't surf the web. So I checked on Macbook, just to see if my DSL was down. Nope, working fine on the Macbook. Went back to the iMac and saw a "!" in the wifi indicator. Upon closer inspection, I realized the iMac couldn't even see my Time Capsule (Airport Utility found no devices), but was still somehow logging in and getting a DHCP address. Then it would promptly lose it. I've tried restarting the Time Capsule, the DSL modem AND the iMac.

Hardware :: Connect To Time Capsule While Connecting To Wifi Network At Same Time?
I recently purchased a Time Capsule to use as a wireless hard drive. I connect to the internet both through wifi and ethernet to a educational network that does not allow extra routers, etc, to be added to the network, therefore I can not use the time capsule for this wifi.

I therefore want to connect to my early 2009 MBP17unibody to both the academic internet network for http/pop3/ftp/etc while simultaneously connecting to external hard drive to store data/itunes-library/etc.

I expect this has been asked before but I can't find any threads where it has. If anyone knows it would be highly helpful. I'd prefer to connect to both wirelessly but I could potentially put up with connecting to either or both with ethernet.

IMac Intel :: Using Virgin Cable Modem To Ethernet Switch To 3 Macs And Time Capsule
I've got a Virgin Cable Modem which I am hoping to connect to a Time Capsule (so iPhone can share WiFi connection), a NetGear Ethernet Switch which connects by ethernet cables to a MacBook Pro, new iMac i7, G4 Cube (not such an issue), ancient PC (also not such an issue). Typing this, I have the modem connected to the switch, connected to my MacBook Pro. This part is perfect. I can connect the modem directly to the MacBook Pro and still as Father Jobs intended it.

ISSUES:

1. Time Capsule does not see any cables connected to it. Having performed all kinds of resets, swapping cables, connecting the modem directly and via the switch, it still doesn't like it. My guess is that the ports are buggered, even though the green lights on the back are on (are they supposed to stay on without cables in?). However, I can access the internal hard drive wirelessly from the MBP.
2. The iMac (brand new) will not recognise the modem, whether connected directly to the modem, or via the switch. It gives me a 169.254 IP address, however it will see the MBP on the network. Could it be that the ethernet port in the iMac is buggered also, yet how can it see the network?
3. Similar story with the G4 Cube. That gives me a 169. IP address.
4. The PC doesn't let me connect anymore also, where before the arrival of the Macs, it was happy to run directly through the modem.

To date I have been able to select Internet Sharing as advertised. However, this evening I have had to interrupt the network connections and sort out my Time Capsule configuration. All sorted and am left with a direct ethernet connection to my Netgear(NG) router with the appropriate NG network showing up in the 'fan' icon.

However, when I select Internet Sharing the panel shows: Green button Internet Sharing: ON / "Share your connection from": 'Airport' in light grey and "To computers from":(all in light grey) Ethernet checked and Parallels NAT highlighted and unchecked Parallels Host-Guest unchecked - ie all inactive to the mouse pointer.

BUT, the 'fan' icon does not change to a fan with the little arrow superimposed as before. Why might this be?

OS X Leopard :: Can't Connect To My Time Capsule Backups
I have been using Time Machine/Time Capsule to back my data up for over a year. I bought a new MacBook Pro this morning. I did not want to use Migration Assistant to transfer everything over because there were many bugs and corruptions on my old disk and was scared that would all be transferred to my new machine. It was time for a fresh start.

I set up my new computer and transferred most of the files I needed via a flash drive. I am now trying to set up my MacBook Pro to connect to my Time Capsule backup disk via Time Machine, but once I enter Time Machine it does not allow me to go "back in time" to see all of my previous backups and restore points. There are some really important files I am trying to get to, but this computer isnt connecting to the Time Capsule backups. The old computer has already been completely reformatted, but it is still able to access the Time Capsule backups.

I have done some internet research and learned that Time Machine uses a computer's ethernet MAC address to allow access. There are some codes posted on various websites that allow to alter what Time Machine thinks you MAC address is so that you can access your backups with a new computer/different logic board. None of these Terminal workarounds worked for me. The Genius Bar and Apple Care couldn't help either.

I am hoping somebody can help me out. I understand I can use my old computer to get into Time Machine and retrieve what I need then transfer those to the new machine. But there must be a way to allow a new computer to fully access Time Capsule backups, but curiously, I can't find it. I rather have my new computer have full access because I am selling the old laptop and so I wont be able to use it to access my backups any longer.

OS X :: Time Capsule Won't Allow Two Computers To Connect?
I have a time capsule and a MacBook Air for the last number of months. Both had been working perfectly and even when my neighbour came over with his MacBook, we could quite easily network between the two computers and connect the two to the internet via the time capsule... Furthermore my MacBook air backed up regularly to the time capsule using time machine without a problem.

Problem. I got a new iMac and uploaded an imprint of my MacBook account and data onto it from the time capsule. I now cannot connect the two computers to the time capsule simultaneously, cannot network between them or cannot have both connected to the internet at the same time.. Furthermore, neither will back up to the time capsule using time machine. Very frustrating, because I know that it is something very simple causing this, but I am new enough to Mac and cannot resolve.

Hardware :: How To Connect PS3 To Time Capsule Wireless

Basically it connects fine when I connect via ethernet, but when I try to use it wirelessly, "PamaJama" doesent show up. And When I go to put it in manually, it doesnt ask for a name... I know the password is a WPA2 Personal, and that doesent come up as a catagorie either. If I where to change the password to a WEP, would it show up? If yes, how do i do that? and if no, do you know what I have to do to get it to connect wirelesly? OS X :: Connect Time Capsule With Linksys Router On Network?
Our company is currently running an Apple Time Capsule that has ~40 users wirelessly connecting to it. Now we recently opened up a new office space that will potentially have more than 50 users that need to connect to our network.

Seeing this we then purchased a Linksys WRT610N wireless router so that we can facilitate more than 50 wireless users. My question therefore is: how do we set this up so that the Linksys router connects to the TC so that we will subsequently be connected to the Internet as well as our network - no matter what SSID (TC or Linksys) we're on. I've been bearing about bridge modes and WAN ports but this is new to us so a brief explanation/procedure would be appreciated.

Keep in mind that we would like to keep the TC as our main router with the Linksys connected to that as well as increase the TC limit of the 50-user connectivity limit.

OS X Leopard :: Time Capsule Wont Connect With Internet Printer
i am using a printer which is connected to an Apple Time Capsule...

I have a simple wireless network with:

(a) Wireless router Linksys WRT54G (connected to the internet via a cable modem)

(b) Apple Time Capsule (500GB)

(c) OKI 5200n printer (connected to the Time Capsule using an ethernet cable)

(d) MacBook running Leopard

The MacBook connects to the WRT54G and the Time Capsule without any difficulty: I can browse the internet, login (via http) to configure the WRT54G, configure the Time Capsule using Airport Utility, and Time Machine does backups properly.

The problem is that the MacBook cannot see the printer at all. I tried pinging the printer (using Network Utility) and it does not respond. The small green lights on the printer and Time Capsule next to the ethernet sockets are on, so the it seems the ethernet cable is physically connected properly.

All four devices have the same subnet mask (255.255.255.0). All four devices have the same numbers for the first three parts of the IP address (192.168.1.xxx). xxx is different for each device. The gateway set in the printer is the same as the IP address of the WRT54G.

I cannot see why the printer cannot even be pinged (let alone connecting to print from Windows XP running under VMWare Fusion, which is the ultimate aim!). But then I'm very much an amateur at all of this. I cannot find any documentation about the Time Capsule's ethernet hub functionality, and how devices connected to the ethernet ports can be accessed from across the wireless network.

Hardware :: Can't Connect USB Printer Through Time Capsule
Searched and couldn't find a solution, so here's my problem. I've got a network setup trough a 1TB Time Capsule, ~18 months old. 2 MB's and one MBP on the network, and also a Samsung CLP-315W color laser printer (wireless connection, not USB). Everything has always worked well. I just bought a Canon CP800 compact photo printer for my wife and would like to connect it through the TC's USB port, for wireless iPhoto printing from her MB.

The printer shows it's connected to the TC, according to its built-in LCD screen, and the printer shows up in any of the laptop printer setup utility screens. The latest Canon driver has been installed, and the printer works properly as long as it's hardwired to any of the laptop USB ports, but not through the TC connection. Here's the error screen which appears when trying to complete the "add printer" process through the TC's USB port.

Hardware :: PC Cannot Connect To Time Capsule Driver To Perform Backup
My Time Capsule and PC (Windows XP) communicate well wirelessly. I am able to access the internet and use AirPort Utility to change settings on the Time Capsule if needed.

However, I have NOT been able to perform a backup on my PC yet. I am not able to access the Driver and don't really know what to do to fix it.

Under the "Network Drivers" section, the PC says that it is a "Disconnected Network Drive", and when I try to open it up, it says "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password".

Reading other threads, I've already checked and verified that the PC and the T.Capsule are using the same Workgroup name. I am not sure that I have Bonjour loaded on my PC. Is it necessary?

I was hoping to use the TC as a backup for my imac and macbook, as well as a mounting point for drives I plug into it but thus far haven't been able to come up with anything that works ideally (i.e. tried connecting all my stuff to the access point but the backup worked way too slow over 802.11g to do anything realistically when its shared among many other people).

Hardware :: How To Connect Airport Express To Time Capsule To Create Another Network
I have a Time Capsule providing a wireless network in my home. I would like use my Airport Express to create an additional network, and have it get its internet from one of the wired ethernet ports on the TC. Can you daisy chain them like that? I tried it and so far I haven't been able to get it to work.

Hopefully that makes sense. I'm not trying to set up a WDS with the TC and the Express, I'm trying to plug the Express into one of the ethernet connections on the TC so the Express can share that internet connection as a new, separate network (like what you would do if you had the Express in a hotel room, etc).

I have the Express set up to create a network, and my computer can connect to it, but the internet's not available for some reason. Should I expect this to be able to work?
