IMac Intel :: Internet Pages Loading Slow On All Browsers

I have been experiencing issues with internet loading on my iMac - it is late 2007 IMac Intel based. I keep all the software upgraded upto date. I thought it might be with my ISP but then my other computers work fine, laptops etc. I took it to the apple store and they tried few things like disk utility etc. They also tried to put the DNS for ethernet and for airport, it didn't help either at the apple store. They could see the problem at the apple store. Apple advised to reinstall the OS by erase and install which I did last night.

I had the similar slow issue even after the reinstall and before I updated all the software. Then I did updated all the software with Mac software upgrade. Still the issue persist. It doesn't matter which browser I use, be it Safari, Chrome or Firefox. The safari stops loading few internet pages, it intermittent, I have noted the problem consistently with cnn. I tried putting the DNS numbers for Airport and Ethernet, still the same issues, no difference.

IMac Intel :: Slow Internet - Images Not Loading With Full Signal
I live in an upstairs room of a house and ever since I took my iMac home, the internet has been extremely slow. Full signal on my Airport and other computers in the house are much faster (and older). I've done some research and it could be some kind of interference like wood and other materials, but I didn't necessarily plan on this being an "outside" computer.

OS X Leopard :: Internet Pages Loading Very Slow
I am having problems loading all web pages, it is taking anywhere from 30 sec to a 2 minutes to fully open any page. I tried downloading the latest version of safari and reset it but neither helped. I pinged my computer and it came back as downloading at 11 mbps. It just started acting like this about 3 weeks ago. I am only having problems on the internet, my computer is running great otherwise.

IMac Intel :: Internet Browsers Lock Up
so i have been researching this for a few days now and this was my problem in the beginning: My safari and firefox crashes, whenever i go to facebook or just open the internet i will get a line across just the window of the open application then it will start duplicating the window over and over til i cant see or work on anything, then i have to restart by holding the button on the back......some of the things i have tried are: I have tried the disk utilities>repair permissions and it didnt work...this use to happen only when i was on the internet browsers, but not it seems to just be happening all the time no matter if the internet is on or not. I then was suggested to uninstall flash and reinstall...did that, didnt work, then i was told to take out the file Library>preferences>org.mozilla.firefox.plist so i did and it still does didnt work. This happens alot when i was on facebook playing flash games but now its affecting everything. I noticed when my bro was in town he downloaded a program called Tattoodle/Fast Web Browser on my computer ive uninstalled the tattoodle, but I cant seem to delete fast web browser im at a loss and my computer is a 24in Imac intel core 2 duo. its only three years old..i just paid it off. but now I have came across alot of people who have downloaded the app off of facebook called Tattoodle....well i downloaded because i thought it was for this Elf dancing animated thing, it installed all this stuff including fast search browser on my computer.....as you can see above i have uninstalled the tattoodle but it still is giving me problems.....i heard it might be malware? i know nothing about malware. Anyone else have this? or downloaded that horrible app on facebook?

Intel Mac :: Safari Slow And Freezes When Loading Pages
I've been having a problem with Safari for the past few months it frequently freezes when loading web pages, sometimes it will eventually load, other times it wont. the blue progress bar in the address bar stops on about 10% with a plain white page it doesn't happen all the time but disturbingly it happens on pages as simple as Google search, not just data heavy sites. other symptoms include having to click links several times to get them to respond and I get the you are not connected to the Internet page when I go to some sites only to try another page from my bookmarks and it will load perfectly.

OS X :: Webpage Loading Very Slow / Slow Internet Or CPU Speed?
Is there a way to tell which one is slow, if anything is going slow? I have an extremely old PC which is normally ok for most things, but gets bogged down if I am doing too many things.I was so annoyed with our national real estate site after they changed the format that I wrote a letter once a long time ago.. and I was ready to let them have it again, listing all the reasons why it is so bad and so much worse than the original.

Today for the first time, I accessed the site (mls.ca) using my new iMac. It was like lightening speed, comparatively speaking.Wow, suddenly I knew why the mls people hadn't changed their new format. But then I started going to other sites.. like airmiles.ca for example, and it was slow as heck... and stalling.. etc.
How would I be able to tell whether it is an internet slowness or the computer being slow?

MacBook Pro :: Slow Loading Of Internet Upon Starting An Internet Browser
I have a macbook pro and have recently noticed that when initially loading any of, google chrome, firefox or safari it takes a very long time for the internet to load the webpages.

It says that there is a full wireless connection but will not load the webpage.

Once the webpage has finally loaded after about a minute, subsequent browsing is as fast as can be expected upon my broadband connection, loading pages in <1s.

However the problem reappears whenever I open a new window, or anything else that might use the internet such as the app store, itunes or apple software update.

IMac Intel :: Programs Loading Slow - Need To Defrag HD?
I've got a 20" Intel iMac. I recently had the hard drive replaced with a 500gb. It's got about 175gb free. I'm noticing that everything is pretty slow on it lately. I can still use Final Cut Pro and all that, but loading programs sometimes takes a long time and I have to reboot. I've noticed that if any other users have logged in, it seems to slow things down even more. Even after they've logged out, once more than 1 user has logged in, things slow down like crazy. I've got a Time Machine drive. Should I consider restoring from a recent backup, or is there a need/way to defrag the hard drive? I do sometimes capture media files to the internal drive and then move them to my external HDD. Could this be a factor?

IMac :: Internet Connection Slow - Taking Long To Take Pages
I recently bought a 27'' iMac (3.2 GHz Intel Core i3, OSX10.6.4) and all was fine and dandy until yesterday when my internet connection suddenly got very slow. It takes forever to load pages, if they load at all. The rest of the iMac is fine as before, which leads me to conclude this is an internet issue. I cleared the cache and browsing history in Google Chrome and no improvement. I tried using Safari and Firefox and they were slow too.

I also have a MacBookPro (2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OSX10.6.4), so I checked the internet speed on that and it was normal. Both MBP and iMac are connected via an Airport Express. I searched various forums and threads for a solution, but I know very little when it come to these things so I quickly got stuck in technical jargon. I've tried to change the DNS server settings (first to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2, then to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) but this has not helped.

OS X :: Browsers Won't Load Pages / How To Use Fast Internet
Today, I've been having a lot of problems re: browsers loading pages. Sometimes, it'll load them partially/mostly, but images won't load. Other times, Safari/Chrome/Firefox will redirect me to Google. Still other times, the browser will say it can't reach the server.

I've tried restarting, repair permissions, and emptying the cache, and restarting the browsers many, many times. Usually one/some combination of these things will fix the problem temporarily, but it keeps coming back. Additionally, no matter how many times I repair permissions, problems crop up in System/Library/Java and System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework .

I've just redownloaded the Java Update 3 for 10.6, and I'm installing it now. I don't know if that'll fix it, but I'll update if it does. I'm running 10.6.5. The only thing I've noticed that changed before this problem started happening was my update to Safari 5.0.3. I have an aluminum iMac.

IMac Intel :: Browser Stalls Loading Pages Using WiFi / Ethernet
I have an Intel iMac (white) that is having severe network issues whether using ethernet or wifi - Safari stalls loading pages (any browser does actually), unless you go into the address bar and hit enter, usually doing that a few times and patiently waiting will get a web page to load. Apple mail will usually fail to get my mail the first time but if I "re-get" my mail it works (or if I cancel the retrieve and do it again it's fine.

I've tried entering DNS, disabling IPV6, make sure there were no input manger hacks etc etc. I've tried a couple of different routers (in case that was the issue). I've done a clean install of Leopard, no different. I would like to point out that this computer was working fine for the past 2.5 yrs until this started happening. Another point is that there are two pcs on this network that access the Internet just fine but my iMac and my Macbook (both with the latest Leopard) have this same issue).

MacBook Pro :: Slow Internet Video Loading
Ever since I purchased my Macbook Pro over 3 months ago, watching videos has been very slow. It doesn't freeze, it just takes a really long time to load any video from youtube or any other website.

My internet speed is fine as I have another laptop (Toshiba running on windows vista) and video loading is really quick and don't have to wait for a video to completely load as it is already fast. So is the problem the Macbook or internet connection?

My Toshiba laptop is wirelessly connected to the internet though (Connected using ethernet cable). However, the macbook is wirelessly connected.

MacBook Aluminum :: Slow Internet Loading - Any Way To Make It Faster?
I bought a new Macbook 3 weeks ago at the Apple store. I am a long-time pc user who took the Apple plunge mostly because I am sick of getting viruses all the time. Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed with the speed of the Internet and really slow loading of websites--especially business websites (CNN, WAMU, Citibank, WSJ, etc.) It's not my wireless internet connection because I did a side-by-side test. I sat on my couch with my 4 year old Dell pc and the new Macbook and went to the same websites at exactly the same time. My old Dell was always faster loading each website and in some business-related or video-related sites, about 35-55 seconds faster. Is there anyway to make the apple load websites faster or is slow internet just the price I have to pay to be virus-free?

IMac Intel :: Very Slow Wireless Internet With All Updates
I'm not sure when this problem started but I'm pretty sure my wireless internet speed was perfect when I got the mac (December 2009) but I started noticing recently that Youtube was slow, as were my usual news sites which were normally pretty fast - suddenly I was waiting like when I had dial up. I thought it might be router but the other housemate says his internet is fine. So I tested my EEE-PC and then my iMac with speedtest.net and imagine my shock:

$300 EEE-PC:
Download: 8.84Mb/s
Upload: 0.26Mbs/s
Ping: 51

$2,300 iMac:
Download: 2.66Mb/s
Upload: 0.5Mbs/s
Ping: 50

Exactly the same browser (Firefox 3.6), router, time etc. except one is running XP and one OSX 10.6.2. (I also tried Safari - no dice same result). Now I've been searching on the net for a solution and I can tell you that none of the usual suggestions have worked, I've tried:

1. Starting in Safemode - no good because it does not load Airport.
2. Repairing Disk Permissions (this made a marginal but consistent improvement).
3. Clearing the cache of both browsers - no difference
4. Inserting OpenDNS DNS settings under Network setting - no difference
5. Turning off the firewall - no difference (possibly slower)

I have not tried finding out and filling in my service provider (Sky)'s fixed IP and DNS etc. as I fail to see why I should be fiddling with those settings when the netbook works perfectly fine with everything set to automatic. So now I am trying to figure out why my otherwise beautiful mac is running internet speeds 3x slower than a cheap high street netbook and whether the problem is simple setting change or a hardware issue.

Some other info you may want to know:

IMac Intel :: Desperately Slow Internet - No Connection Apparently?
I am a Sky broadband customer and have just spent 60 mins with them trying to bottom out why my download speed maxes out at 128k. They checked the router which was displaying a connection speed of over 5mps. I was guided to Network utility, then Netstats and finally 'display the state of all current socket connections'. She was expecting a couple of entries, but couldn't understand why I was saying there were about 100 lines worth of connections (I had to scroll down about 3 pages worth). The end result was than in her opinion, these must be some form of virus or malicious software sucking up my bandwidth. If this is the case, how do I get rid of it? Is this a virus?

IMac Intel :: Internet Connection Slow On Wireless Network
I have an iMac 9.1 Intel as well as an iBook G4, both have all the latest updates. However, I did not upgrade to Snow Leopard yet. My husband has an HP laptop. We are running AT&T Fast Access DSL wirelessly through a Belkin N Wireless Router for the laptops. I have my iMac connected directly to the modem via Ethernet. I can connect my iMac wirelessly using Airport. My husband's HP runs very fast on the wireless network.

But my iMac & laptop take a while to load pages & usually don't load all the content on the pages. I'm not an expert on setting up networks, but I know a little bit about it. I used the Setup Assistant to install the network. Is there anything that I can do to speed up the connection? I wasn't sure if this is a problem with the ISP or with the computers. IMac Intel :: Slow Internet Connection With AirPort Extreme
My internet connection is incredibly slow. I'm connected through Comcast/wireless network using Airport Extreme and use Safari (I tried Firefox and it didn't load quickly either). Immediately following a hard reset of my modem and Airport Extreme, the connection is fast. But after 10 minutes or so it slows down... WAY down. Pages take forever to load and often timeout partway through. I've tried connecting it directly via ethernet cable (first a CAT6, then a CAT6A) and have the same problem. Originally I used a Time Capsule as a router, but switched to the Airport Extreme to see if that would help. It hasn't, though I'm sticking with the AE. Curiously, when I download a file - video, audio, text - it still downloads quickly. I scheduled a call with AppleCare for tomorrow (1/14), but would love to take care of it myself.

OS X :: Loading Browser Pages Slow On High End Mac?
I'm running a 2x3.2 quad core g5 with 12 gigs of ram, but lately, my browser speeds have plummeted. Regardless of browser (default is firefox, but it also happens in chrome and safari), my pages are loading extremely slowly. However, the web browser(s) seems to be the only part of the internet that's lagging. World of Warcraft ping is almost always around 30ms, even a time zone away. And my speed tests verify that everything is fine - 5/6 megs down, and .5-.6 megs up.

what would be slowing my browser down? Funny thing is the only site that loads as it should is a google search through the toolbar of firefox. Any other bookmarked site takes 3-5 seconds at the very least...sometimes up to 10-15+ seconds.

Mac Safari :: Web Pages Loading Slow In Foreground Wth SL
"If you have broadband and your Safari does not load 99% of all web pages in less than 2 seconds, and the majority of them in less than one, there is something wrong with your system." Basically if I use safari the browser takes forever to load a page on broadband. It has nothing to do with DNS or any kind of network settings. So if I pick a page like say "digg" with just Safari running.

6 seconds with browser in foreground.
3 seconds with browser running in background (clicked off it).

That is also nothing to do with caching issue either, because I tested this a few times with pages with/without cached pages. Now if I have any kind of app that uses graphics running at the same time then safari basically becomes unusable in the foreground. With Wow running window'ed, safari in the foreground to load digg can take a few minutes.

If I try to load that same site and switch to any other app it will load the page 1-2 seconds from when I switch away from it. Prior to snow leopard I never experienced this issue. If the page was never in the cache to begin with then not only will it take forever to load but the browser becomes unresponsive until it does. Again switching away from the browser window (even clicking on the desktop) puts the speed back to what it once was.
