IMac Intel :: Apple Wireless Mouse Does Not Reconnect After Changing Batteries

The wireless mouse on my iMac quit working after I changed batteries. There was no response to mouse clicks, or movement, or scrolling. Eventually I connected a USB mouse, did an orderly shutdown of the system, rebooted, and the mouse started working again.

IMac :: Why Doesn't Magic Mouse Connect Automatically After Changing The Batteries
It has been this way as long as I've had the Magic Mouse - if I change the batteries, it won't re-connect. I must plug in a USB mouse and manually connect the Magic Mouse. This is on a relatively recent 24" iMac. Am I doing something wrong?

PS: I think at some point in the past I made the mouse a Favorite in trying to fix this.

IMac Intel :: Magic Mouse - In Bluetooth Settings It Shows As A Wireless Apple Mouse?
As with a lot of you I received a Magic Mouse for Christmas. However I'm not sure it's recognized as the Magic Mouse. In the Bluetooth settings, it shows as a "Wireless Apple Mouse." Is this correct? Since i no longer have a track ball, how do I access Widgets? Functionality seems to have degraded quite a bit from th Mighty Mouse. I installed the update but still get the same functionality.

IMac Intel :: OS X 10.6.4 Draining Magic Mouse Batteries
In months past, Mac OS X, had a tendency to eat Magic Mouse batteries on my Early 2006 Intel iMac. However, Apple managed to release an update that fixed the unusual rate that the Magic Mouse was going through batteries. However, it now seems this bug is back in 10.6.4. Since I updated to 10.6.4, my Magic Mouse is now going through a set of batteries once each week. Anyone else seeing this? This is in combination with an Apple Wireless Aluminum Keyboard.

IMac Intel :: Magic Mouse Not Accept New Batteries
Every time my magic mouse dies (which is pretty frequently) it refuses to accept new batteries. I bought a 50 pack of Rayovac AA, Energizer rechargeable, Energizer Ultimate and so on. It makes no difference. So generally after switching out 20 -30 pairs of batteries and about an hour of time the mouse "magically" decides to work again. No rhyme or reason it's the same 20 or 30 batteries I am trying over and over. Sometimes I get so frustrated I walk away and 20 minutes later after not touching it, it just decides to work.

IMac Intel :: Magic Mouse Disconnects With Replaced Batteries
Magic Mouse has been working perfect, until the batteries it came with died, and since then replacing them the mouse always disconnects on small shakes or fast movements. I've noticed it the batteries fail to touch the upper metal +ve side and loses connection easy. If anyone has found a solution to this let me know. I've tried multiple batteries but none have worked miracles liked the ones that came with the mouse.

IMac Intel :: Keyboard & Mouse Won't Connect After Replacing Low Batteries?
Late 2009 iMac i7 27" + OS X 10.6.5. My wireless bluetooth and mouse were paired and working fine. I get a low battery warning on either the mouse or keyboard and replace with fully charged set of batteries. After this I find the device (keyboard or mouse, whichever ran out) will not connect. No amount of turning the device on/off, trying to connect from Finder etc will connect it. I just get the flashing green LED on the device. Trying to browse the BT device from Finder is sluggish (beach-ball). Console messages show SystemUIServer HID device connect failures. The only way I can connect it is to restart the iMac, then it works. It shouldn't really be this way - do others get this, is there a fix for it?

Mac Bluetooth :: Mighty Mouse Doesn't Reconnect On Wakeup Or Reconnect?
I have two scenarios where my BT Mighty Mouse gets disconnected. The first is when the macbook pro sleeps and wakes up. It doesn't automatically reconnect the mouse when that happens. Actually sometimes it does, and other times it doesn't.

Also, if I use the laptop without the mouse, then bring it close to the mouse, it should reconnect, right? But it doesn't.

In both these scenarios I only have to go to System Preferences and reconnect, but do I really have to do that?

A related question is that the mouse itself seems to go to sleep when the computer sleeps. Is the only way to wake it up to move the flap over the laser and open it again? That works, but should it just wake up when I click or something?

My battery for my 12" Powerbook G4 is munted and i need a new one. There are a few around for about $90AUD from 3rd party re-sellers which is less than half the $200AUD apple want for a genuine battery.

So i'm just wondering, has anyone got any recommendations about 3rd party batteries? i know it will probably vary a bit depending on where they're from, but i spose i'm just wondering if its worth the extra $100?

IMac :: Batteries Exploded In Mouse And Keyboard
My magic mouse and keyboard both were not working. I pulled the battery cover over the mouse and saw that the Apple supplied batteries made quite a nice mess inside it. Did the same to the keyboard and there is a nice mess in there too. In both devices one of the batteries exploded. I was able to clean the keyboard a little bit and it will turn on, but the mouse will not. I got both of them with my 27" iMac I got a few months ago. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know if Apple will replace the mouse for something like this?

IMac Intel :: Dropping Wireless Connection With Apple Wireless Keyboard?
I've got a new bluetooth chip in my iMac from support at my location, a new wireless keyboard and I'm still having issues. Wireless connection dropped 6 times typing this one sentence. Aaargh. I've been busy with this ever since I bought the computer. On irregular intervals (absolutely no regularity whatsoever) the computer loses connection with my Apple Wireless Keyboard. So if I have a new iMac, with a new bluetooth chip and a new keyboard how come this issue is still an issue? It's driving me mad. And possibly the guys at the centre as well.

Intel Mac :: Mouse And Keyboard Immediately Drain Batteries?
I have a wireless keyboard that came with my iMac in late 2007, and a magic mouse I just bought last year. The last few months I can't keep them charged. I bought new batteries, didn't help. I realized I have had the same charger for a number of years, so I bought a new one, didn't help. I bought brand new non-re-chargeable batteries, I put them in and they work at least but I immediately get the warning that they are critically low.

IMac :: 27" Mouse / Keyboard Fail To Reconnect After Sleep
I have noticed a few times now that when my iMac has gone into sleep after being left alone (usually for a couple of days) that it is impossible to wake it up with either the wireless keyboard or (magic) mouse because both have disconnected from the bluetooth and refuse to reconnect. Has anyone else seen this? The only solution seems to be to connect a usb mouse, turn off bluetooth and turn it back on and then the keyboard and mouse re-appear.

IMac :: Reconnect Magic Mouse - Can't Move To Bluetooth Icon
Mainly for the idea to use the monitor as a external monitor. This is what I need. I basically want the magic mouse to automatically connect to the macbook pro when I plug the MacBook into the iMac as an external display. Obviously then I need it to disconnect from the iMac (because apparently you can only pair with one thing w/ bluetooth). I realize you can go thru the tedious steps of disconnecting from the iMac and then reconnecting to the MacBook every time, but its a pain, and honestly I can't figure out how to reconnect to the iMac if the mouse is disconnected (ie I can't move the mouse to the bluetooth icon on the iMac if it's disconnected, I hope that makes sense).

I'm excited about the new wireless magic mouse but I have to admit that after a test drive at my local Apple store I'm unsure about it.
