IMac Intel :: 24inch Mid 2007 Max RAM - 4GB?

I have the 24-inch mid 2007 Intel iMac and on the Apple support web page [URL] I found out that its maximum RAM memory is 2GB+2GB = 4GB. However in my iMac paper instructions (Installing Additional memory) I read: "You can add a 1GB ou 2GB memory module dor a maximum of 3GB on memory." So my max RAM memory is it 3 or 4GB? I know it is not an easy question

IMac Intel :: Memory For Mid 2007 IMac (aluminum) The Same As For 2006 IMac (white)?
I have to buy more memory for my mother's iMac, a white 2006 Intel iMac with 1.83 GHz and (currently) 512 MB of RAM. But, since I have a Mid 2007 Intel iMac (aluminum, 1st generation, 2GHz) with 2 GB of RAM (two 1 GB modules), and since this support page from Apple [URL] states that both models use the same type of memory (PC2-5300 667 DDR2 200-pin SO-DIMM), I could do something better: I could buy new RAM for my iMac (upgrade to 4 GB) and replace the memory on my mother's iMac, using the two 1 GB memory modules that are installed on my iMac right now. Does anybody know if I can do that? If these two iMacs use the same kind of memory, it should work.

IMac Intel :: I5 With 8GB RAM Or 4GB RAM - What Would Be Better
I want to buy one of the Quad Core iMacs but I am in a quandary, I would like the i7 with 8GB RAM but I don't know if I can afford it, so do I either get the i7 with 4GB RAM or the i5 with 8GB RAM which both sell for almost the same amount.

I know no one has done any speed testing yet, but I'm looking forward an educated guess from you guys. My gut tells me the i5 with 8GB would be the quicker machine.

IMac Intel :: Mid 2007 Won't Boot
I have a mid 2007 intel iMac 20" that won't power on. When I plug the ac adapter in the first led comes on. When I press the power button led's 2 and 3 come on but nothing else happens and led 4 never comes on. No fan spin or optical drive sounds and the screen stays black. Do I need to test the Psu or is it the logic board or the video card?

IMac Intel :: 24" Core2Duo 2.33GHz RAM - 3GB Vs 4GB
I've got an iMac 24" Core2Duo 2.33GHz, and I'm looking to max out the RAM. I have 2x1GB modules now. DDR2-5300-667MHz is the type of RAM iMac 6,1 is the Model Identifier The machine is supposed to only support 3GB of RAM, but OWC will sell a 4GB upgrade kit. The thinking is that although no programs will see more than 3GB, there might be some performance increase because they are matched pairs. The upgrade is so cheap, the "phantom" 1GB of RAM is not a financial burden. Any experiences out there with 2x2GB modules? is it certain the iMac will boot?

Intel Mac :: Mid 2007 Crippled By Lion?
Have been suffering Lion for ages but despite the iMac being within spec to run 10.7 required it is absolutely useless ans getting worse. It is just getting worse over time and would go back to Snow Leopard tomorrow but can't find a way to use iCloud. I have reinstalled Lion from scratch and it soon gets bogged down again – like swimming through cement just trying to do basic tasks. Only used for email, web and syncing iTunes – with Snow Leopard I could run Adobe CS, with Lion I can barely run Apple Mail.

It feels to me like Apple have left me and users like me high and dry. Any solutions welcome as this is horrible.

OS X :: Hangs During Shutdown When Turn Off IMac (AL Mid - 2007 Running 10.5)
When ever I turn off my iMac (AL mid-2007 running 10.5) it seems like it hangs during shutdown. It takes about 60 seconds to shutdown and after about 30 seconds it starts to show. It looks like this, except it still shows my wallpaper... (This is just an image I found on the web). I am not sure why it is taking so long to shutdown lately... I don't remember it taking nearly this long in the past. Here is a photo of everything that is running during shutdown and it still does it. (I usually try to close out of apps before shutting down).

Intel Mac :: Mid 2007 - Won't Power On
My mid-2007 intel iMac 24" won't power on, there is no sound, screen activity or signs of life other than a slight "bzz bzz" when the power button is pressed. Yesterday it was working fine, I put the computer to sleep and when I attempted to wake it the next day, it would not. The optical eye on the mouse was lit and a green led light could be seen reflecting through the memory access door, but the computer made no sounds and would not wake. I held the power button until the mouse turned off and then attempted to reboot. All I get is a quick buzz (possibly the hard drive sound that you normally hear just before the chimes and screen powering on) when the power button is pressed, but no other activity. I attempted resetting the SMC and reinstalling the memory, no avail. Just a little buzz and nothing else. An

Unexpectedly, the screen goes to a 100line b/w vertical display, and stays lit. The rear upper left feels very hot.   After allowing the computer to cool to touch, rebooting presents an apparently stable system.

This has happened twice this week, and never before.

Intel Mac :: Changed HDD And Now Fans Work ALL The TIME (7,1 - Mid 2007)?
I have an imac 7,1 - intel core 2 duo, 2,4GHz, that is 20" from mid 2007 with an HARD DISC:  Western digital : WD3200AAJS - (320GB) that I bought a NEW HDD: Western digital: WD10EARX - (1TB): Caviar green series I changed step by step the HDD and reconnected everything and all went well, until I re-started the iMac. After approx. 2-3 min the HDD Fan began to increase in speed and since then I have tried everything that I found on the net and nothing worked to slow down the fans.

That is the external temp sensor is set in the same way as it was on the old HDD.  I reset the SMC  and the PRAM several times, actually oppened and checked all cable conections three times. I installed the SMC fan control - no difference, the HDD fan control demo version - no difference. THUS the problem is that the FANS do not stop working as if the comp is on fire.

It said I had total 6 gb ram.  I am wonderind why It won't accept both of the 4gb Ram.

IMac :: Looking To Upgrade RAM To 4GB
I am looking to upgrade the RAM in my iMac. The Model is iMac (Late-2006) 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo/2 GB RAM/Radeon x1600 256 MB/20" Widescreen. I am looking to go from 2 GB of ram to 4 GB, first off, before I would buy the ram, will this computer support it? And if it does will any of these RAM's work? [URL]. I'm not gonna spend a whole lot of money, probably from $60-80 no more than long as I am guaranteed the RAM will work when I install it. Because lets face it, my system is out dating fast and I'm not buying a new comp for a long time.

IMac :: 4GB Of RAM Enough For Gaming?
I'm a long time lurker first time poster and have anxiously been awaiting the new IMac refresh and now that it's here, I just want to make sure I get the proper system for my needs. So I plan on getting the higher end 21.5 model. However I'm wondering if it's worth it to get 8 gb of ram vs the 4gb standard? Now I don't play a lot of PC games but I would love to run Starcraft 2 close to high-ultra settings as possible. So will that extra 4gb of ram help SC2 run smoother or is that overkill? Also anyone with the new macs yet test out how well SC2 runs on them? Also is it worth it to upgrade to the 3.60GHz Intel Core i5 [Add $180.00]?
