Final Cut Pro :: How To Edit 16bit TIFF Image Sequence File
I have a number of 16 bit TIFF image sequence files (2048 x 1024 resolution) - some of them are RED footage, and others came directly from our f/x guy. We are going into a color correction session in a post house and we've been asked to provide a sequential 16 bit TIFF image sequence of the edited time line.I need to do a cross dissolve b/w most of the clips I have. I have created image sequence QT movie (reference files) from the TIFF images. Though they play fine in QT player, when I try importing into FCP, I am met with a "general error". I tried both dragging it into QT, as well as File --> Import.Information: Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Final Cut Pro :: HD Footage Into DV Sequence - How To Get Back Edit
I made a mistake : I put HD (XDCAM EX.) footages into a sequence set to DV. So all the clips I've put in the sequence (my edit then) have kinda been put down to DV quality. Wich explain that I have to render everything all the time. Thing is, when I set back my sequence to the right format, my edit is not reformatting the same way. So my edit appear smaller onto the canvas (of course seeing that it "became" DV because of my mistake). Any idea to fix this and make my edit come back to HD? Information: Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Final Cut Pro :: Edit Lost On Nested Sequence
I have 15 little sequences in DV and ProRes LT that I edited. Those finished sequences are put together in my "Arrange Sequence" to add titles and graphics. Sometimes I need to go back into a sequence (by double clicking it) to make some changes to the footage (Sound, framing, cuts, cc, etc.) Now, and that's the scary part, when I switch back into my "Arrange Sequence" the changes do not show up and when I switch back to the sequence that I just finished editing, they have disappeared as well!! As if I had never spent one hour tweaking it! Luckily my work in progress still shows up in the auto save vault! For now I always select and copy my corrected timeline into the memory (apple + C) so I can just past it back in when it gets lost during the switching of Sequences. And another thing is that Markers are not updated when the sequence is nested. Is that normal? Information: MacPro Octo 2.8, 6GB, 8800GT Mac OS X (10.5.8) FCS 3

Final Cut Pro :: Trying To Fade Sequence - Insufficient Content For Edit
I logged 2 different Clips of 15 seconds of the same reel (separated by 20 second) and captured them just after. It is a DV PAL Anamorphose 48kz 16 bit. All my A/V settings are set like that. When I put the 2 clips in an empty sequence and try to do any simple fade or cross fade with the video or the sound it tells me "insufficient content for edit". That is bizarre since the I set the fades to be 1 second long and I have about 10, 20 seconds for the two clips. But, if I cut in the one of the clips and make a fade with video or audio form the same clip it works. Cut HD then what? or get into a ProRes SD sequence asap? Can I Edit to tape the HD sequence direct to Digi? Final Cut Pro :: MPEG-4 Into FCP-edit W/DV Sequence-out To YouTube?
I have a FCP sequence in DV NTSC 4:3 in which I've edited a simple logo animation for a non-profit organization. The non-profit wants me to put this logo sequence on another a short video sent to me. That video is a mp4 and was edited in iMovie '08. The original footage was captured with the Flip camera which compresses video in-camera as MPEG-4. The aspect ratio of the .mp4 file is 960 x 540 = 16:9. I'm ultimately going to include them both (the logo animation and the short video) into one sequence, and encode it for YouTube. Final Cut Pro :: Placing A 4x3 QT Onto A 16 X 9 Sequence Without Image Shift
I am building a new 16x9 sequence with fresh background, and when I import a older 4x3 QT to place onto it, the 4x3 image shows up cropped on the right side, cutting off the ends of logos, etc. I am not trying to stretch the older 4x3 to 16x9. Just the actual placement onto the timeline causes the crop to show up. When viewed straight from desktop, the 4x3 QT looks fine, only when placed in the 16x9 sequence does the image shift / crop.

Final Cut Pro :: Re-editing Movie - Sequence Settings Different. Distorting Image?
I shot a short film on 1920x1080 progressive at 25fps (HDCAM EX 1080p) and edited the first cut on a Sequence of 1920x1080 HDTV1080i Aspect Ratio with Square Pixel Aspect Ratio. This was all fine and looks good. I then had to undergo a 2nd edit and created a new sequence to do so, however, somehow the sequence settings were the following: 1440x1080 with an aspect radio of HD(1440x1080)(16:9) and HD(1440x1080)(16:9) Pixel Aspect Ratio. I hope you're still with me? Basically the Sequence Presets altered. Information: MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Final Cut Pro :: Losing Image Quality When Putting Still Images Into Sequence?
I am trying to put together a flip book type of action shot where i took multiple stills and then play them back in fast motion. They pictures are shot with the dimensions of 2144x1424 and look fine in the viewer though once I scrub through the pictures they look terrible in the canvas. I tried creating a new sequence for the pictures themselves though the problem persists, I also rendered out the pictures to make sure this wasn't just happening so that it didn't take up to much RAM. Aperture :: Converting 8bit JPEG To 16bit TIFF
Everything about my new compact camera is great (Lumix DMC-ZS3), except that it doesn't shoot photographs in RAW, an oversight on my part when researching compact cameras. I understand that jpegs are 8-bit, and that making adjustments to 8-bit images is not great. That said, I should be able to convert the 8-bit jpegs to 16-bit (14-bit) tiffs and then adjustment them with suitable results. There should be a software to make this conversion other than Photoshop. Does anyone know of a plugin that could make the conversion within Aperture? Final Cut / Motion :: Rendering An Image Sequence - How To Know About It
After a few hours of rendering a particularly complex project, Motion crashes leaving my movie unfinished and corrupt. So I am switching to rendering an Image Sequence. Therefore, when it crashes, I won't loose the entire render. The odd thing is that I am not seeing any still images appear on the hard drive. I expected to see each image show up in my save directory as they are rendered, but several hundred frames into the render there is still nothing there (or anywhere on the disc). Is this typical behavior? Information: Dual 2.0 G5 Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Final Cut / Motion :: Image Sequence Stretching
I have a 1280 x 720 composition I've sent from FCP to Motion 4. I want to composite several 1280 x 720 tif image sequences rendered from Maya with the video. For some reason the sequences come in stretched horizontally with part of the right side of the frame cropped. If I double click on said sequences and open them in the Media Browser, they correctly display at full frame. I have checked the sequences in Inspector -> Media and they correctly import with a square pixel aspect ratio and the proper width and height.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Outputs Stutter QT's From Image Sequence
I'm having an issue when trying to batch image sequences from compressor. The resulting QT is 'stuttery' and 'jumpy'. The source image sequences are .tga's and the destination formats are ProRes 422 HQ @23.976/ 23.98 The attributes pane recognizes the seq as progressive and 23.98 before putting my settings on and I've not enabled frame controls. I did have this working at one point during testing, and I remember having to do something mundane to each image sequence so that it came out alright - I thought it was choosing the 23.98 fps setting in the attributes inspector, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Final Cut Pro :: "Export Still Image Sequence" Changes Aspect Ratio?
Got HD media with 1440x1080 frame size and pixel aspect. Living in.....
