Final Cut Pro :: Uploading Footage
I'm looking into purchasing Final Cut, but before I do, I want to find out how to upload footage. The previous editing program I was using on Windows came with a box that the camera was plugged in to and digitized the footage and uploaded it to the computer. I've seen something similar for Final Cut, but can't find it included with any of the packages contained in the Apple Store. Before purchasing I just wanted to make sure that I can upload the footage without the box.

Final Cut Pro :: Video With Titles Footage And Music Not Uploading
This problem just began recently. I export my movie from final cut pro by clicking file>export>using quicktime conversion. I do h.264, 30fps, med quality, deinterlace video source, around 22khz for audio and then I export it. But lately when I've been trying to upload my exported videos to my godaddy server or even youtube the upload suddenly stops. Sometimes it will be at the very start or closer to the end.

I had a video with titles footage and music which wouldn't upload. I did everything I could from scratch to see what the problem was and I realized if I dont have a clip at the very start of the timeline before another clip fades in it wont upload for me. If I have the clip about 2 seconds into the start of the project it doesn't upload, unless I move it to the very start. But I should be able to do whatever I want in my timeline and have it upload to youtube or my server.

Final Cut Pro :: Apple Prores 422 To Youtube?
I have a Sony hdr-xr200 camcorder and Final Cut imports the video files easily to my Mac, it always convert the files into apples prores 422, there is no other choice. This process does not take very long, but if I want to upload the video to youtube, I use the "send..." option and pick youtube, easy to do, but then the process takes for hours! 4-6 hours for 10 minutes. Is this really it? .. For youtube it should not take soo long.

Final Cut Pro :: Best Sequence Settings For Movie To Be Put On Youtube?
I am making a video that consists of mainly jpegs and audio. The final movie needs to be crisp and fairly high resolution because the pictures have some house plans that need to be easily read. I have tried the following settings only to get a blurry image result in the end:

Frame Size: 960x720 Aspect Ratio: HD (960x720) (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: NTSC - CCIR 601 DV 720X480
Editing Timebase: 29.97

Quicktime Video Settings:
Compressor DVCPRO50 - NTSC
Quality: 100%

This seems to me like it should be a crisp enough image result but the end result is very poor. When I use the H.264 Compressor instead of DVCPRO50 - NTSC, the image is much sharper but the faded transitions are sometimes choppy, and you have to render the timeline with each change you make. find the best overall settings for smooth editing and sharper image.

Final Cut Pro :: Sharing To YouTube Vertical Green Bar
Whenever I export a video in the most recent FCP, using File>Share>Youtube the compressed video file has a green bar on the right side of the frame. I have exported 4x3 and 16x9 and both have the green line. You can see what I mean here: [URL]. (Its particularly bad when you screen it in full screen). If I use Quicktime conversion or compressor, it does not happen, but I would like to be able to use the Share functionality. I shoot in HD but downconvert on the fly from my Sony FX1 so the majority of my footage is 720 by 480.

Final Cut Pro :: Exporting HD SEQ From FCP2 To Upload To Youtube?
I wish I was a compression expert but I fall short for sure. I have worked with people who seem to know how to take an HD SEQ(1920x1280 or 720/30p) and export it using QT Conserv or Compressor and make the video look great while still maintaining a small file size and keeping the aspect ratio.

I have been cutting music videos that run about 3mins and shot in 720/30p and all I want to do is export it from FCP where the file size is small enough to upload to Youtube or Facebook and the quality is still good. This is what I do:

Export->QT Con->Size:Current->Settings-h.264->Quality->Highand the result of this is a large file.

I've even done different aspect ratio but the file sizes are still really large. Using compressor really doesn't make much of a difference in terms of file size and my needs are to upload to Youtube while maintaining quality. Does anyone have any answers for correct exporting from FCP to upload to YouTube? Or how to learn how to become a better compression export so you can send decent size files to clients across the web or for FTPing?

Final Cut Pro :: MPEG-4 Into FCP-edit W/DV Sequence-out To YouTube?
I have a FCP sequence in DV NTSC 4:3 in which I've edited a simple logo animation for a non-profit organization. The non-profit wants me to put this logo sequence on another a short video sent to me. That video is a mp4 and was edited in iMovie '08. The original footage was captured with the Flip camera which compresses video in-camera as MPEG-4. The aspect ratio of the .mp4 file is 960 x 540 = 16:9. I'm ultimately going to include them both (the logo animation and the short video) into one sequence, and encode it for YouTube.

Final Cut Pro :: Final Cut Won't Accept Photoshop/Illustrator PNG Files
I haven't found an answer to this little irritation on the webs so here we go.

When importing an Illustrator (happens with Photoshop to) generated PNG, FinalCutPro (7.0.2; 302a63) gives me a "File Error: Unknown File." error and will not import it.

The file is produced like this:

In illustrator (cs4 14.0.0) I "File/Export..." my image as a PNG. Save options are set to "High (300ppi)", "Background color: Transparent", "Anti-Alias" box is checked, "Interlace" box is not checked. Saves No problem.

The work around I figured out is to open the misbehaving PNG in Preview, then save as PNG. FCP doesn't have a problem with the file after this point.

Applications :: Uploading From IMovie To Youtube?
I have a video I want to upload to Youtube (made in iMovie 3.0.3). If I use Full Quality export on iMovie, the file is 1.34gb, which is out of the question. If I use the next best quality (CD rom), the video is 31mb, which looks okay on my computer, but it's frame rate was **** on Youtube. I'm not a video editor or anything, so iMovie's "Expert Export" options baffles me.

What should I do in the expert export to have file that's smaller than a gigabyte, but will upload good on Youtube?
