Final Cut Pro :: Insufficient Disk Space To Render Even After Clearing It Up?

I'm trying to render a Final Cut Pro timeline, but upon adding a jpeg photo, it says that there's insufficient disk space and that I can free up space with the render manager and retry. Well, I've taken off some files (which took up more space than the jpeg picture would), but it still says there's insufficient disk space.

Final Cut Pro :: Render Error - Insufficient Disk Space
I am getting this error message along with "Free up space with the Render Manager and retry?" I have freed up almost everything and it still won't render a very small video clip. The scratch disk is set to the internal hard drive with 42GB alotted as minimum allowable free space on scratch disks. I do have an external hard drive with at least 1TB.

I have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz intel core 2 Duo, 2GB 667 MHz SDRAM, and a 750 GB hard drive with over 400 GB of free space. I just purchased Final Cut Express 4 and when I uploaded my first clip and I tried to render it, it said that I have "insufficient disk space to render." I don't understand how this is possible, I may just have a setting messed up but I need step by step instructions to switch that setting

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Download Mozilla 12.0, Insufficient Disk Space?
I have had my macbook pro 13" for 3 weeks.  The only significant amount of data storage I have on the computer is 2919 photos in iphoto.  The only application I have downloaded is pages.  I tried to download Mozilla Firefox because my facebook looked strange in safari.  My wall page looked great but all subsequent pages look like I'm viewing them on an older version of blackberry.

Question #1.  When I attempted to download firefox, a window stated it was unable because of insufficient disk space.  I don't understand how this is possible (please see above).

Question #2.  Why does facebook look strange now.  I remember it working seamlessly when I first purchased the computer and only noticed the problem today.  I log in every couple days.

Final Cut Pro :: Quit During LONG Render... Anyway To Reapply Render Files
Howdy... probably right in front of me but I can't figure it out. Running FCS3 (the latest release of Final Cut Studio). I applied a third party filter to about an hour and a half of footage (NeatVideo Reduce Noise filter). This filter took about 10 hours to render on that much footage. Somewhere between hours 8-10 FCP 'Unexpectedly Quit'. When I open the project back up the entire sequence with the filter needs to be rendered again, although, I see all the render files it made before it quit. I'm guessing at least 3/4's of the render was lost. Is there a way for me to apply the render files to the project to avoid having to re-render all that was lost before FCP quit?

Final Cut Pro :: Render Selection Video And Render All Audio Commands Refuse To Work?
I have used FCP both at home and at work, and in both situations, Final Cut Pro has begun to malfunction in exactly the same ways:

1. The "render selection>video" command stops working. A progress bar shows up, but then fills up quickly and disappears... but the computer is lying like a schoolboy that claims that he has done his homework when he really hasn't.

2. The "render all>audio" command refuses to work in exactly the same manner.

3. When I export quicktime movies from an edited sequence, the audio always, ALWAYS goes out of sync towards the end of the movie. I found a work around that seems to fix this: if you nest the sequence and then add a time code generator to the nested sequence, the audio behaves itself. (naturally, you have to move the TC window off screen.)

I think it's completely ridiculous that I should have to be working around anything in such an expensive program, and that it seems to fail in exactly the same way, no matter what computer I'm using. What is wrong with this program?

I logged 2 different Clips of 15 seconds of the same reel (separated by 20 second) and captured them just after. It is a DV PAL Anamorphose 48kz 16 bit. All my A/V settings are set like that. When I put the 2 clips in an empty sequence and try to do any simple fade or cross fade with the video or the sound it tells me "insufficient content for edit". That is bizarre since the I set the fades to be 1 second long and I have about 10, 20 seconds for the two clips. But, if I cut in the one of the clips and make a fade with video or audio form the same clip it works.

Final Cut Pro :: How To Render To A SAN
Here is an annoying problem. We recently got a SAN installed (admittedly not an Xsan, but that SHOULD be irrelevant, hopefully)

In Final Cut 6 and 7, Motion, Live Type, and After Effects CS4, we can't render to the SAN. in Final Cut (and the other apps) I get an error code "File Error: Access Denied" (or similar).

In Compressor, Quicktime, and Premier CS4 we CAN render to the SAN. We can also manually copy and paste files to the SAN in Finder.

We are connecting to the SAN via NFS.

We were previously connected to the SAN via SMB, but found that the connection was horribly slow. BUT we were able to render this way, albeit taking 74389274389 hours to render a 30 second clip.

The way I structured every test, is to create a folder on the SAN, then subfolders for every program used to test. Inside those subfolders were project files. Assets are residing on the SAN as well.

Does anybody have any idea what's going on here? I am not an I.T. professional, but both our I.T. dept and the makers of the SAN have been trying to figure this out.

Final Cut Pro :: Stop Capture SD Video "lack Of Disk Space"
I am an avid, Avid editor on PC's and learning FCP and finally got my anamorphic 16:9 SD video to begin capturing and during the capture process the capture stopped and following message came up: "Capture has been ended due to lack of disk space." Now I'm not sure if this is related, but for some additional info, this disk is fairly new, has nothing on it whatsoever and has a total of only 983Gb's left, that is this was a brand new disc that as erased before beginning; that is, a 1.0TB drive 7200rpm SATA.

Now I don't know if this is related but, when I mounted it I tried to erase (which I was looking for format and couldn't find) and the only setting that would work was MS-DOS (FAT 32) to erase. I tried all the Mac settings and none would worked but crashed and reported an error. Is this the problem? IF so, how do I make this a Mac disk? Again, I tried erasing it was a Mac Extended and Mac Extended (Journalized) but nothing doing, it simply would not let me.

I go to edit clips fade in from black and get the red bar above my clips. Also, it says "unrendered" in the preview. So OK, I go to Render All. I notice that the red is not checked but click it anyways. It flashes up the rendering progress bar for a nanosecond and then nothing, video is still unrendered. Final Cut Pro :: FCP Not Creating Render Files
I'm working on a project that is a bit computer intensive. I have thousands of 3k still images and timelapses. I did a bunch of work yesterday and rendered it. I previewed it before I went home and everything was fine. When I opened the project this morning everything that I rendered yesterday needed to be rendered again. There was no missing render files window upon launching FCP. You can imagine how annoyed I was. I looked in the scratch disk (RAID>Final Cut Pro Documents>Render Files>Project) and there were no render files. I looked around in the system drive, user folders, time machine drive, everywhere and I couldn't find render files for this project.

Anyway, I re-rendered some of what I had done the day before and then started working on more of my segment, rendering some bits while I worked until I got the "General Error" error message. I get these from time to time and a restart usually fixes the problem. So I saved, quit and restarted my machine.

When I relaunched FCP, everything needed to be rendered AGAIN. No message of missing render files. At this point I opened a window on my laptop and through the network I looked to see if render files were being created on my Mac Pro scratch disk while I rendered 1 second of the timeline at a time. FCP was creating some render files but not enough to correspond with what I was doing. Again I got the "General Error" and I restarted. When I relaunched FCP this time only some of the stuff I rendered needed to be re-rendered and I noticed that some of the render files that were created before the restart were missing.

I'm also getting the "General Error" message quite a bit with this project.

a) I import one of these clips into FCP. When I try to play it, I get an out of memory error. This clip is less then 2 mins long and ~19mb.

b) I created a sequence with the exact same settings as the clip (listed above). When I add the clip to the sequence I now get out of memory errors when I do anything to the sequence.
