Final Cut Pro :: Change Stereo To Mono And Back Again

I am in serious trouble with a project. I was only able to record the sound in the left channel, and I assumed it would be easy to fix this in SoundTrack Pro. But the files are so big, STP isn't working. So, Is there any way in FCP to move the left channel sound to the right channel so there is stereo? In the past, I would change stereo to mono using the left channel, and then turn mono back to stereo. Or, if I were able to delete the right channel, when the file goes through Compressor, will it make the mono sound come out both channels? The project is headed for a DVD.

Final Cut Pro :: Stereo Goes Mono When Capturing In System
I've got a serious problem with audio in FCP.I work with MacPro sets and Decklink HD Extreme capture cards via SDIIf I capture a clip in FCP, from Digibeta with variable precomposed audio beep-left beep-right beep-left/right, I get dual mono-flattened. So no stereo with seperated audiochannels, but 2 mono channels with one long beeep on both channels. When I capture this with 'Decklink Control', this is simple software that comes with the Hardware, I get nicely what I want Stereo!. Both the apps use the same decklink preset, nl. Blackmagic PAL-10bit. I have checked all the prefs in FCP and can't find anything.

Final Cut Pro :: Stereo Shows Mono In Viewer?
I have a stereo track on the time line, it's recorded in stereo and is linked on the time line but when I double click it to load it to the viewer, it goes to mono and shows Mono (a1) and Mono (a2) tabs in the viewer with ONE waveform and overlay. I should see two waveforms and two overlays one on top of the other for stereo. Why is it separating it when I load it? I've never seen this before. I double checked the camera settings and FCP settings and it's set for stereo. Why it's splitting it to mono once loaded to the viewer? Using FCP 6 latest everything, etc....

Final Cut Pro :: Transcoding XDCAM From Stereo To Dual Mono?
I'm actually using Compressor at the moment, but am trying to convert HDV clips shot in stereo into XDCAM HD clips that will support write-back to my PDW-U1. But the U1 only supports "dual mono" audio, not stereo. I'm looking at the audio tab in my Compressor settings, and don't see such an option. I'm currently running tests, but has anyone found a way to create supported audio for write-back to XDCAM devices?

Final Cut Pro :: Captured Stereo Convert Into Dual Mono
Some of the footage I have to work with is captured as DV with stereo audio tracks.
That's not so nice, because the audio is actual 2 mono channels (2 different mics on interviews)I know I can switch off the stereo pair in the timeline. But that's tedious. I need to alter everyclip everytime I drop it in the timeline. Also I cannot Unpair the clip in the viewer, while I do need that because I want to lower the level of only one channel during chosing the quotes (because of wind in 1 mic for instance).

Final Cut / Soundtrack Pro :: Stereo Mastermix To Mono Output Possible?
How might I convert a normal 'stereo' mastermix to mono in STP2 please? Actually, as an update to this, if I were to output in stereo, is it possible to combine my human-voice tracks so that they always both come out as mono, dead centre from the middle of the television (as opposed to leaping from the left-to-right speaker)?

Final Cut Pro :: Mono Mixdown - Audio Not Go On Air As Stereo
We recently installed a new server for on air production. Before, we were going from Avid doing audio/video mixdowns on a timeline. Now we are sending it over via FCP quicktimes. The programming audio wont go out on air as stereo. So, we have to do it mono. How do you do a mono mixdown on FCP 7? We normally just work with 2 channels of audio.

Final Cut Pro :: Need To Make Mono Audio Tracks Stereo?
I am sure this is a fairly basic question but I just can't seem to figure it out. Currently I am working on a project that is filmed with 1 actors lav mic on channel 1, and the other actors lav mic on channel 2. When I import this footage into Final Cut actor 1's audio comes out the left channel, and actor 2 out the right. I would like to make it so both mics are coming out of both speakers, so how do I go about that.

Final Cut Pro :: Audio Imports A Single Mono Track Instead Of Stereo?
I am transferring mini-DV footage into a project that I was previously working on with a different camera. The audio used to import in Stereo Pairs, now it is just a single Mono track.

I don't think I changed any settings. I looked in the Clip Settings on the Capture window but I don't see an audio toggle. I am using FCP 5.0.

What should I do differently when importing and how can I get the previous single Mono imports into Stereo Pairs?

(I'm working with just audio files only - a band of live instruments). I have then separately imported (dragged) some stereo audio files from my ZoomH4 into my LogicPro project (one instrument recorded into the left channel, and another instrument into the right channel). Is it possible to split/convert them into two separate mono tracks, to be dealt with separately? I'm sure I did this once before. I read answer to (I think) the same question: "Drag the stereo file into the Multi-track workspace while pressing the Option key." I don't really know what a Multi-track workspace is. Logic Studio / Pro :: Stereo Buses Turned To Mono And Create Havoc
I'm in the middle of a sound design project. I had all buses in stereo, denoted as Bus1, Bus2 and so on. And some point, after I added the surround Gain plugin on one track with a surround .caf sample, hoping to tweak the stereo image of it, the sound disappeared. All mute buttons where blinking, but pressing either had no effect.

I restarted the computer and the project. Then, all my bus sends and bus outputs from tracks are MONO, denoted Bus1-2, Bus3-4 and so on. But my aux'es are still STEREO, i.e. Bus1, Bus2 etc. Incidentally, this has created feedback loops and my headphones where blasting dangerously. Luckily, I wasn't wearing them right then. I know no other way to fix it but to do most of it from scratch.

Final Cut / Soundtrack Pro :: Hold To Mono And Bleeding Ears?
I'm new to Soundtrack Pro..but I think I (rather painfully) found a bug...Basically, I start-up a new project and drag an mp3 onto one of my tracks.By default, the track is routed to Submix 1, which is routed by default to "1 - 6" Surround. If I hit the "Hold for Mono" button, nothing happens...but, since I am not running with surround, this isn't the bug....I change the submix1 routing to Stereo (1-2)....Here's the bug (I think):

Now, when I hit the "Hold for Mono" button, about 2 out of 10 times it works...the right channel disappears from my monitor and the output meter for the Left channel is active while the R meter is off (no apparent change in total output volume). About the other 8 out of 10 times, the Left channel and meter keep active, but the RIGHT channel goes off the charts (according to my meter: +500 dB!!!!).

I was very lucky that my monitor didn't burn up. At first I thought this was a setting I had wrong...but the fact that it seems to 'work' about 2 out of 10 times -- and then cause severe ear danger the other 80% of the time has to be a bug.I'm REALLY glad I didn't try this for the first time with headphones...or I might have suffered hearing damage. This is a serious issue...I'd love to see if anyone else can duplicate it. Again, just change your Submix routing to Stereo (1-2) and hit that "Hold for Mono" button by the transport (turn down your audio first!!!).I am going to call Apple support ASAP
