Final Cut / Compressor :: Specify File Size To Compress To?

Final Cut / Compressor :: Compressor Error "Volume's File Size Limit Exceeded"?
Does anyone know what this means? In Compressor I'm getting an error that states:
"Volume's file size limit exceeded" I don't know what this means or how to resolve it.I am dealing with rather large files that are being converted to even larger files.I have Canon 5D Mk II footage that I shot. Interviews and some of the file sizes are large. I am then compressing them to Apple ProRes 422 for Progressive HQ. It has been working for me in the past, but now I keep getting this error.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Best Format For Archive With Reduced File Size?
I'm using a Canopus AVCD55 to record medical (endoscopic) procedures in DV format. Unfortunately these produce massive file sizes, eg, 5-20GB. If I use Compressor to convert them into another format, what would be the best choice in terms of retaining picture quality whilst reducing file size? It's possible I may in future use 'stills' for publication purposes. I'm not recording audio.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Batch Compress Without Name Change
If I wanted to take 300 clips from a DSLR and compress them to ProRes (and save in a new destination folder) without changing the names (i.e. appending the transcode type) how would I do this without having to edit the name of each clip individually? The reason I want to do this is easy reconnect for Proxy vs 422 files in FCP. Batch compress to one directory as Proxy and to another directory (separate batch) as 422. If the files have the codec type appended FCP won't reconnect to all files automatically.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Need To Compress Full Movie To DVD-9?
I would like to use compress to compress a 2.5hour movie to DVD-9, but the default settings only say they're for DVD-5. I want to create a custom setting that would work on a DVD-9. Is it as easy as taking the DVD-5 bit rate and doubling that? Or is it a little more complicated? The DVD will consist of a 2 hour feature, and extras that I believe are less than 30 minutes, so the 150minute setting would be a great starting point.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Compress Video That's Already Been Compressed?
We shoot with an HVX200 in HD, ultimately exporting a self Contained QT movie from FCPro playing at 60mbs. That's a file size of about 30 gig/hour of finished product. And it looks GREAT even on a 50 inch HD TV.

Now we're saving sever hours each week of SC movies and I experimented a bit - and discovered if we compress that finished SC movie (60mbs) to half its size - to 30 mbs, we cannot discern any difference at all when viewing on a good 50 inch (about) monitor.

Final Cut / Compressor :: How To Compress 137GB Worth Of Movie Files Onto A Standard DVD
I cut some footage of an all-day presentation for my wife's office, and they're asking for it all on one DVD.

My edit is finished, but clocks in at around 2:45:00. It's also 137GB. (Note: This footage was shot on an HD camera and is 1920x1080.)

I need to figure out the best way to compress this so it fits on one standard DVD. The HD quality isn't important, the fact that it can be accessed on one DVD is.

Final Cut Pro :: Font Size Changing Upon Export Via Compressor?
I had this problem about 6 years ago, and have never seen it again until this morning.

Exporting a timeline via Compressor, the font used for the lower-thirds is somehow changing from regular to BOLD. Have not posted to Compressor or DVDSPro forum yet.

I'm using the FCP text tool, in an DVCPRO-HD timeline (720p), and outputting thru Compressor.

IPhoto 11 :: How To Purge/compress/shrink The Folder/file Size
How do you purge/compress/shrink the iPhoto11 folder/file size?

I have been using iPhoto since iLife'05 and have always upgraded with each iteration of iLife. Without exception, I had just recently upgraded to iPhoto'11 when iLife'11 came out. Because I have used iPhoto to store all my photos and videos taken over the last 5 years or so, my iPhoto folder/file has become bigger and bigger over time and so I moved it to an external hard-drive. My main iPhoto'11 folder/file has 14,367 photos, 995 videos and is indicated to be 83 GB by iPhoto'11. But "Get Info" in Finder reports a whopping 130 GB.

Final Cut / Compressor :: Possible To Create Hi Def MPEG4 File?
I'm new to Compressor, having just installed Compressor 3.5. I have a short Final Cut hi def (1080i) video file that my son wants to upload as a hi def file on youtube. He tried uploading the Final Cut file, but it was too large for youtube (over 3 gig), and apparently they requested a mpeg4 file. I messed with Compressor last night and created a 952 MB file using the Hi Def folder in Setting. I also created a 252 MB file using the MPEG4 folder in Settings. But somehow I don't believe that the MPEG4 file is hi def. Is it even possible to create an mpeg4 file in compressor that is hi def?

I ran it a couple of times with frame controls on and off. No difference. I even ran a 30p file through: same result. The TV always sees it as interlaced.

Final Cut / Compressor :: How To Change 'video Frame Size'
I'm completely new to Compressor (just bought Compressor 3.5) but I have an immediate need to use it. I am trying to make a 'Multiclip' in FCP, but I get a message saying, "Unable to make a Multiclip. The video frame sizes don't match."

Clip A is HDV 1080i60 Dimensions:1440 X 1080. I am trying to conform that to all the other clips which are Apple ProRes 422 Dimensions: 1920 X 1080.

Basic question: are 'Dimensions' the same as 'video frame size'?

I was successful in transcoding my HDV 1080i into a Apple ProRes file, but the new file still is 1440 X 1080. Is this why FCP says that my 'video frame sizes don't match?'
