I cannot work out how to move the contents of various music folders from iTunes to a Burn Folder. It allows me to choose the files, make copies of them but disable Paste in the burn folder.
View 1 RepliesWhen I open my Finder, inside my Applications folder I see...an Applications folder. And an "Applications copy" folder. All full of the same applications. Am I just seeing multiple mirrors of one Applications folder, or did I actually somehow duplicate all my applications?

I'm on a Powermac G.5 dual 1.8 with an upgraded superdrive running 10.5.6
About 3 days ago I noticed that I couldn't burn a dvd using Roxio's Toast 10. I would receive a medium write error.
I tried a second time with the same results.
I then moved to itunes which I have updated to the fullest version and tried to burn a playlist to cd and also received a medium write error.
Finally I tried to burn the original dvd using disk utility and it almost worked up until it hung on finishing. The funny thing about the run with disk utility was that the disk played in my home dvd player with no problems despite quitting the burn prematurely.
I have all my media on an external Firewire 800 drive. On that drive i have multiple folders and sub folders. The problem is when I click on any of those folders it open the contains in a new window, rather than letting me just click through. it's frustrating as I can end up with half a dozen windows open to get to one file. This only happens on external drives. Is there a way to fix this?

I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.

it's really painful to do one folder at a time. i would want some photo folders to be viewed in icon view every time i open right click -> Show View Option -> " always open in icon view" So is there a way to set view options for multiple folders at once?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to transfer my iTunes library to my phone to use as a secondary/backup iPod. The problem is that I have a lot of music, and iTunes organizes the music by putting music in separate folders via artist, and then more separate folders by album. This means there is no easy way to transfer all of my music over. I'd have to manually click on every folder, and copy songs one by one, which would take a super long time.
Is there a way to like select my iTunes Music folder and be able to get all of my music?
I had tried to write several DVDs and CDs before, and they failed (it turned out to be that they were already used DVD-Rs), but the burn folders for them are still on the sidebar in Finder, as shown in the pictures below. id like the notes i take in class on the mbp to sync with the imac when i get home. Id like my picture folders, design work folders, and documents folders to be in sync on both computers whenever im home.
if i add new pictures on the mbp, take new notes, or work on a .psd file.
I want them available on the imac without me having to manually bring them over and vice versa.
i just need a way for the folders to sync whenever im home.
that way when i do a back up on my imac, it also has a back up of the folders on the mbp.
When I open itunes Podcast section I find that it shows multiple folders or podcasts with the same name. I want these to show up as just one podcast. why I have multiple 'sent' folders in one of my mail accounts?
As you can see from the screen grab, relating to the 'Skittles' account, there is one 'sent' under Inbox/Skittles, one under 'Sent' and another further down under SKITTLES.
What seems to happen is that any emails sent from my Mac go into one folder, ones from iOS devices go somewhere else, etc.

Is there any way I can select all the .txt docs and paste them in one big folder? In other words, is there a way of removing all the sub-folders and putting all the .txt files together in one place?

I am trying to back up some DVD is I OWN.I used MTR to get the Video_TS folder on my HD.I have been trying to get Burn to create a disk that will work on my stand alone DVD player (which supposedly supports DVD -/+R and RW well as DivX).WHICH TYPE OF DISK DO I TELL BURN TO CREATE? I've been trying to burn on to dual layer disk i.e 8.5 GB.Video_TS foldeer is 7 GBIf I chose the DATA TAB tell Burn to create a "DVD-video disk" I get a disk that my computer can play in the DVD App that functions like a DVD, BUT my stand alone DVD player won't recognise it. (tells me its a DATA disk).

You have copy a file and have to paste it to multiple folders. I hope I do not have to paste it folder after folder.
I tried to highlight all the folders but there is no paste option in the menu. Is there an easy way to paste it?

Have a free to distribute educational DVD (preparation for a test) that I need to make a copy of for a friend. Downloaded MacTheRipper and copy the DVD. Next I downloaded a freeware program called Burn that looks simple and is all I need. However I when I try to burn I get an error "Failed: There was a problem authoring the DVD" Also I tried to use the burn to a data DVD mode and it wrote the data to the DVD (you can physically see it's there) but when it got to finalize I got the same error message and you can't read the DVD contents. I have a new Mac Pro running 10.5.3 and the DVD drive is OEM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D.

I have 4 x 500MB drives in my Mac Pro and 4 x 500MB external firewire drives.
Currently I use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone each internal drive to it's respective backup. ie Drive 1 > Backup 1, Drive 2 > Backup 2 etc
Is it possible to use Timemachine in a similar way? so that each internal drive has it's own corresponding Timemachine backup?
I recently went through my Applications folder and uninstalled some applications. Now and then, I'll find a file or a folder or a bunch of files and folders from an uninstalled application. Does anyone know of an application that can delete these files that I no longer need?
