Aperture :: How To Export Smooth Slideshows

I am running the latest version of Aperture 3. When creating slideshow with the "Album" theme, the result is not very smooth. During transition for example, when a picture moves from right to left, it is not smooth - not nice to watch which is basically a shame for a slideshow! I want to get 1920 x 1080 HD video ... But at the moment, it is not satisfactory. The preview on screen is also not very smooth, which I can understand because realtime processing. I am using an Imac 27 - I7 - 8GB of RAM.

Aperture :: Slideshows Taking Forever To Open
My slide shows are now taking forever to open, or they're not opening at all. I have reinstalled Aperture 3. I have also performed all three repair options on startup. I even tried creating a brand new library and the problem still exists. All updates have been applied. Could the new iTunes update have caused this issue? I can't think what else may have changed.

Aperture :: Slideshow Won't Export / Rearranging Pictures After Export
Aperture 3.0.3, OS 10.6.3. When I use 'Export project as library' or "Slideshow as library' menu items, the resultant slideshow in the exported libraries has the pictures rearranged. If I burn it to a 1080p xxx.mov file, the structure of the slideshow is correct, including the music files.

QUESTION. Has anyone else seen this and if yes, do you have a work around or solution?

Aperture :: Won't Work With Aperture 3 Export Slideshow
I have found a bug I can replicate on multiple machines of different power. If some one can replicate that would be great I am sure. I got myself a 3 ghz 8 GIG duo Intel macbook Pro to test this out on and frankly hoped it was my underpowered 2.2 GHZ 4 Gig unit. The scenario 1500 images mix of RAW and PJEG, in the slideshow that windows nicely, works fine on the screen to display, put 5 tracks in total time 53 minutes.

Export as a 720p, Apple TV option. Takes about 4.5 hours you end up with a file that is only 90 meg with 53 minutes of audio and only about 10 minutes of images randomly selected.

Aperture :: Aperture 3 Slideshow 25fps / Won't Export
I have created a Slideshow in Aperture 3. I want to export it and import into Studio DVD Pro, play DVD on a DVD player then view it on a televsion.

The options for Export, at best quality are 720P or 1080P. Both are presets and both export as 30fps, NTSC. I live in the UK we are PAL and 25fps. Using the custom preset, 720P and 1080P can be selected with a selectewd frame rate of 25fps. Unfortunatly the exported videos are at 40fps not the 25fps as hoped. A fault an error on my part?

I bought the software from an UK Apple reseller. I cant import a 30fps or 40fps into a 25fps DVD Studio Pro project, not that I want to. Using Compressor or QT to standards convert results in a severe loss of quality. I could use FCP as a last option.

Are there NTSC & PAL versions of Aperture 3. If not how can I output a Slideshow as 25fps. What am I doing wrong?

Aperture :: Trying To Export Some Photos With Watermarks?
1. Trying to export some photos with watermarks but have problems with it.
My signature (watermark) is a one-layer PSD file with some transparency and it works fine in A2.As for A3 - it scales watermark up to an unaffordable size on photo. Even when I am sizing signature resolution down, A3 scales it up again.Tried different types of files (TIFF, BMP, JPEG) - the same thing.

2. Also I've noticed that when I slide the 'Opacity' slider in the 'Image Export' window, the watermark doesn't dynamically changes the opacity in the example window as it was in A2, though it applies on the exported image anyway.3. The last thing is that if you have both A2 and A3 on the machine and you use them one after another, Image Export presets lose their watermark settings so you have to adjust settings over and over again.

I selected a bunch of images, hit the FB button and boom they appeared in the list of FB albums..........problem is they dont appear on FB, only an empty album. then you hit the sync button in AP3 and the album goes bye bye from there aswell.

I have tried logging out of FB etc. and also removing any images from stacks and checking previews and nada.....ZIP

Aperture :: Took Over 10 Minutes To Export One File
I have been using A3 since it came out. I have stuck with it, despite some slowdowns, as it is improving with each patch, and I find the info here very helpful. I am a little irritated though, by a few things: it seems like the more adjustments I put on an image, the longer it takes to render the changes, especially in 100% view. Highlights/Shadows are especially bad for this, brushes as well. Below is a screenshot of the adjustments I made to an 18mp Canon 7D raw file. I tried to export this file, both as a jpeg and a full size 16 bit tiff, and both times, it took over 10 minutes, for one file! I tried it on my MacBook Pro (specs in sig) and it was over 10 min, my iMac (also spec'd in sig) was over 12 1/2 mins for the export. I am fully up to date with EVERYTHING, OSx 10.6.3, prokit 5.1, raw converter 3.2 or whatever came out today, and everything else. I have defragged, repaired permissions, deleted caches, sacrificed a virgin lamb (just kidding about the last one ) etc. If I try and export a photo with basic adjustments, it happens fairly quick, I did a test with 15 photos, all had Highlights/Shadows. With the brick active they exported at an average of 55 sec/photo.

With it not checked, they went in about 20 sec/photo. The photo in question had the following adjustments done to it: I didn't change any Raw Fine Tuning, but as you can see, some of the adjustments were brushed in. Initially I used Migration Assistant to transfer my settings, files etc over from my iMac, but I'm wondering if my iMac has something going on that transferred over, that's causing the massive slowdowns for me with Aperture. Lightroom 2 and 3beta both fly for me, so I wonder if there's some file or something somewhere in OSX that got messed up on my iMac that I transferred over during the migration that is affecting Aperture in some way. Should I just go to factory fresh with my MBPro? And, by the way, what's the best way to do this? I have the install disks, how can I wipe everything and start anew, making sure that nothing remains that could mess things up?

Aperture ::unable To Export Facebook
I am fairly new to Aperture so maybe this problem is a bit basic, but it's got me stumped. I am using Aperture V2.1.4. I had used the export to FB option for a single photo, but when I went to export a bunch of pictures using the regular Export Version command, it put them in a folder somewhere I can't find. How can I get to them or at the least trash them as I assume they are taking HD space.

Aperture :: How To Export All Images Including Any Changes (Versions)
I have well over 15000 RAW ORF Olympus images in Aperture with approximately 10000 of them in the database and the rest as references to the file on the file system.

My problem is 'many' fold...

First I am frustrated with using Aperture only because it doesn't seem to perform well anymore either because I have too many files, the database is corrupted, DB IO is slow... I don't know but its not performing as it did when I started using it and I don't know what to do to fix it... so with that said here are a few options I am pursuing and the problems I am having doing so.

I am moving to Adobe Bridge and Photoshop CS4, however with most of the files in the Aperture database I need to have them exported... however the only options are Master and or Version, which is frustrating because if I choose Master I get the original RAW file less all the changes done to any versions and if I choose the version I get customized JPEG's less the RAW master file. huh! I would like if possible some other options but I can understand if they don't exist.

1. One option would be to get all the masters (which I can do now) but only if they are in the database and not referenced.

2. Second option only would be to get all the versions if the RAW was modified and not export a version for a selected image if it does not exist.

3. Third, have some way to only selected actual modified version images and not every image in a folder or in the database.

4. Export to Photoshop .psd format with layers instead of versions?

5. Filter by files in the database and files that are referenced.

6. I'm open to other suggestions.

Is there a way to move all the database files back to file referenced to shrink the Database or do I need to export everything and then re-import them as references?

The export process for so many files is killing me as its taking me days and days and I have no way to cross check to ensure all the files and versions are retained when exported - I'm not sure what I have or how to rebuild them in Aperture at a later time once exported?

I am exporting the sidecar file with every image but am not sure the value or significances of this file - can this file help when moving to Photoshop/Bridge?

Aperture :: FaceBook Export And IPhone Sync
I have used the FaceBook exporter for iPhoto and the exporter for Aperture. The former works fine the latter hangs. Insofar as it seems to usually manage to send the images, though not always, but the export activity just gets stuck going round and round and I have to cancel in the activity window. I have uninstalled the plug in and installed a newly downloaded version but no success. Am I alone?

Am I alone in using Aperture and iPhoto side by side, each being suited to a particular kind of task (work/leisure etc)? If not, does anyone know a way to be able to sync selected Aperture AND iPhoto images to an iPhone? Aperture :: Cannot Export At All - Images Held Hostage
Complaining about Aperture 3 is almost pointless now with the mess the program is obviously in, but I encountered a rather distressing problem I hadn't seen reported yet. I can't export anything. All of my photos are locked into Aperture. If I select any export option (say, Jpeg 50%) Aperture will start exporting it and never finish. It will sit there for hours if I let it. The file will never export. Activity viewer just shows Aperture attempting to export the image and never finishing. Basically, it's holding my images hostage. The crashing and hangups I can deal with (for now), but if I can't export a photo the program is literally useless to me.

Aperture :: Export Presets Disappeared / Solution For This?
While attempting to export a version of photo all I noticed all of my export presets have disappeared. All that is left is one jpeg version called "Untitled". A search of the forum showed a solution of

3) Move com.apple.Aperture.plist to desktop
4) Restarting Aperture.

That didn't work, and I also tried restarting the computer before restarting Aperture.
