Aperture :: Any Way To Retain Quality Of Image On Export
I've been searching all over the internet and can't seem to find any answers in regards to export quality in Aperture 3. When I finish editing an image and I export it in either TIFF, JPEG or PNG all of them look the same regardless of if I change DPI, File size etc and none of them look even close to as detailed as the original. I'm exporting "version" and changing the options in presets with no luck. I can't accept the poor quality of the exported images as they make my portraits look fuzzy and not sharp (when they're very sharp and vivid in Aperture!). Is it possible to get the same quality in an exported image as I see in Aperture.

Aperture :: Does Export Version Reduces Image Quality
I got smaller file size when I "export version" at "original size". My master was jpeg of 5.1MB and I exported in jpeg format, I got 3.6MB. If I "export master", I do get 5.1MB. What does Aperture do to the jpeg image that reduces the file size? Then I played around with "image quality", which is 10 by default. If I set it to 11, I got a file of 4.1 MB, still smaller than the original 5.1MB. Set it to 12 I got a file of 10.4MB. I am kind of confused. I guess the "image quality" relates to degree of jpeg compression, and a 12 setting means that Aperture compresses the jpeg image at a lower compression ratio than my camera? Does Aperture uncompress jpeg image and re-compress it when "export version"? The bottom line is, how do I preserve image quality after adjustments? In other words, I would like to export at the same image quality as my original photo, or as close as possible (I assume Aperture reduces jpeg image quality a bit every time I apply adjustments to the image via export). Final Cut Pro :: How To Export Settings Without Loosing Image Quality
I have a 2 1/2 hour show that I videoed on MiniDV and have edited in Final Cut. The image quality is as good as I want it, not perfect but fine, but when I export to use in DVD Studio I loose quality. I'v used Compressor and converted it to MPEG-2, but is there any way I can just export straight from Final Cut Pro without loosing image quality, keeping all the settings and so on I used in Final Cut Pro? Mac QuickTime :: Preview Export To Make Adjustments For Quality Image
I exported a .m4v file as a mpeg4 file so I could edit it in Imovie to pull out individual scenes. It ended up kind of squished-up looking. Can I preview the export somehow and make whatever adjustments I need to do to make the image correct so I do not waste 2-one-half hours? The question may be better asked: How do I know what adjustments to make (if any) to have a good quality image when the .m4v file is converted to a .mp4 file on export? I need to export images from A3 to give to a client. The client purchased rights to a hi Res (300 dpi) and a web (72 dpi) image. Here is my question based on how I have my library set up. I have been setting everything up as a separate project. SO for this one, it is team name, with a folder inside with numebr and name, then an album, then the images.... RCBasketball>02 Thacker> 02 Thacker Album / image versions I have 15 players (replace 02 Thanker with 03 Poindexter, etc...) Aperture :: Unsupported Image Format - Fails To Export
I'm a wedding photog. When I create albums for people I import the .psd's into aperture into a separate album under their project. I then export out as jpegs to the size album I want, and upload it to a lab. The .psd's are pretty big i.e. 200+mb each. Whenever I "select all" in the psd album, I'll always get a few come up red saying unsupported image format and it then fails to export them. If I reboot, it works fine - but only once i.e. if I try and do more than 1 album it will fail. Basically I'm in the situation where whenever I want to export a bunch of .psd's I need to reboot. This has to be a bug or some sort of memory leak right? I'm on a macpro with 8x2.93ghz and 32gb ram with 10.6.2. The aperture library is on a 2 x 1.5tb raid0 partition. Aperture :: Print Quality Difference Between Iphoto And Aperture
When ordering books, is there a print quality difference between using iPhoto and Aperture? or are they sent to the same lab? It's possible i may have some setting wrong, but when i order a book using iphoto, i never really feel the quality is that great. it's good, i just feel it could be a lot better. the print quality sort of reminds me of newsprint, albeit high quality newsprint. similar sized prints made at home on my basic 3-in-1 printer look better.

Followed the directions for installing the Aperture 3 Trial on the same computer as Aperture 2.Now, Aperture 2 refuses to Export Masters. When I select an image, or images, and choose Export > Masters, I get this message:"The selection doesn't use any referenced files."I store all my RAW masters in the Aperture Library. So, no, there are no referenced files. Which is irrelevant - I'm not looking for referenced files, I'm looking to export the masters I know are there.I have rebuilt the library and run a consistency check.

Aperture :: Won't Work With Aperture 3 Export Slideshow
I have found a bug I can replicate on multiple machines of different power. If some one can replicate that would be great I am sure. I got myself a 3 ghz 8 GIG duo Intel macbook Pro to test this out on and frankly hoped it was my underpowered 2.2 GHZ 4 Gig unit. The scenario 1500 images mix of RAW and PJEG, in the slideshow that windows nicely, works fine on the screen to display, put 5 tracks in total time 53 minutes. Export as a 720p, Apple TV option. Takes about 4.5 hours you end up with a file that is only 90 meg with 53 minutes of audio and only about 10 minutes of images randomly selected. Information: Macbook 3.6 Intel Duo 8 gig RAM Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Aperture :: Aperture 3 Slideshow 25fps / Won't Export
I have created a Slideshow in Aperture 3. I want to export it and import into Studio DVD Pro, play DVD on a DVD player then view it on a televsion. The options for Export, at best quality are 720P or 1080P. Both are presets and both export as 30fps, NTSC. I live in the UK we are PAL and 25fps. Using the custom preset, 720P and 1080P can be selected with a selectewd frame rate of 25fps. Unfortunatly the exported videos are at 40fps not the 25fps as hoped. A fault an error on my part? I bought the software from an UK Apple reseller. I cant import a 30fps or 40fps into a 25fps DVD Studio Pro project, not that I want to. Using Compressor or QT to standards convert results in a severe loss of quality. I could use FCP as a last option. Are there NTSC & PAL versions of Aperture 3. If not how can I output a Slideshow as 25fps. What am I doing wrong? Information: MacBookPro Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Final Cut Pro :: Quality Loss During Export?
I shot a feature-length film on a Panasonic HVX-200, in the DVCPRO HD format, 1280x1080 24pa. When I export my film using the "Current Settings" option (as a reference file), there is a significant loss of quality, especially noticeable in darker areas of the image. Why is this? If I export a clip with "none" set as my compressor, I experience no loss in quality. However, the file size is HUGE and I don't have the space for it. Any thoughts as to how to have full quality without a giant file size? Why does the "current settings" option result in such a loss of quality? Is it because it's a reference file? I've had this issue when using Final Cut ever since I first started editing with it, and I'm not sure what exactly is causing it. Basically, when I export a video after I'm done with it, the quality is lowered greatly. Now, this is when the mystery deepens, because when I watch the exported video with VLC player, the quality looks fine, but when I watch it with Quicktime, it looks, well... Terrible. I finishing a 10-minute congratulations video for an associations awards dinner. Its a DV-NTSC project, edited on FCP 6. Its got original DV footage we shot, b-rollish dv stuff we were given; pretty high quality photos; and some material we ripped from a non-commercial DVD using MPEG Streamclip. Its got two Livetype titles, plus a few lower thirds, done with the text generator in FCP. Its got a bunch of transitions, mainly simple dissolves. It has two or three effects, and some minor motion stuff pushing in on photos, making photos move across the screen. All in all its a pretty simple project. The only weirdness with the audio is that I have used some mp3 files and rendered them so they are playable. If necessary, I could easily convert them to AIFF in iTunes and reimport them. Final Cut Pro :: Good Quality Export With 25p Settings
I'm filming on HDV. I'm using a Macbook Pro to edit on and I have 2 external drives. I'm capturing as HDV and in the render control tab for the sequence I'm setting it to progress and doing the edit in HDV. Once I've finished the edit, is it best to colour correct (I'm using 3 way colour corrector) then render any separate clips I am going to send to motion to add titles, or am I best to do my titles first and when I get back from motion do the colour correction? I'm a bit unsure of the settings and how to round trip with motion. Last night I found out that it didn't accept dissolves. Once I get every thing back into final cut am I advised to use the following settings? Video processing render all yuv material in high precision yuv. Process max white as white Motion filtering quality best. Once it's rendered and I want to make an archive clip to store on a drive do I leave the clip as is or am I best to use the following settings? File>export>QuickTime movie Proress 422 1080x1920 50i 48Khz or should I use Proress 422 1080x1440 50i 48Khz If I wanted to make it 25p do I need to deinterlace before I get to this export and if so can I do it with final cut studio 2 or do I need other software? I have loads of footage captured in a .MOD format into iMovie that I want to edit in Final Cut Pro. I tried using an XML file but when I import it in FCP it says "Media Offline" (FCP 5.0.1, iMovie 09, Snow Leopard). Maybe the easiest way is to export one long clip from iMovie? It is a multiclip project: 2 little minidv tapes of a live concert of my band.I have done all the editing and I have just exported the project in mpeg4. This is not the first time, I have done this 4 or 5 times in the past and everything was OK. This time instead I have bad quality at every camera change: at every change, the image starts all pixelated, than after some frames, the quality is back to 100%.It seems a key - frame issue. but I am not expert.
