Jan 14, 2011I've built a few sites with iWeb, and now want to do one for a band. There's a service you can use for building the site that has (supposedly) simple ways to do things like forums, and selling music online using paypal. There is a charge to use their web builder and hosting etc of course, and I already have that covered with mobile me.Cah I accomplish these things in iWeb? Have forums on a site, and set it up so we can sell music on the site using paypal?

Mar 20, 2009I visit macrumors and the forums almost on a daily basis, and since the day i got safari 4 i've been trying to add it to "top sites" section.... it just wont happen :/ i really dont understand what's going on... oh and Quote:where is Web Clips ?tryied to add one to my widgets and the button is nowhere to be found..... is there any way to add the site that YOU want to top sites??? or is it just based on visits.... which doesn't make any sense at all to me.

Nov 22, 2008Throughout today Safari has been constantly crashing. It will just shut down and I will get the "safari has encountered an error" message. Just to get to MacRumors and type this, it has crashed 3 times. On the error screen, I've selected to repair settings, did almost everything there is to do in OnyX (repair permissions and all safari settings), and checked for updates. I'm feeling really annoyed here as 80% of my computer usage is the internet, and not being able to get to a site without Safari crashing is just not cutting it. I'm using FireFox for now, but would rather be back on Safari.

Jul 17, 2009I've just switched to Safari instead of Firefox (I don't exactly know why, just giving it a go) and I have noticed that when I open links in Forum Spy, they open in a new window in Safari, not in a new tab like in FireFox.

Aug 30, 2010Well trying to access the site forums i keep getting 404 bad request i am using mozilla by the way. my mac mini running mozilla can access the site my laptop running xp can access the site but my desktop running vista cannot at the moment any ideas on how to fix this oh and this is what the error says your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. size of request header field exceeds server limit could deleting the cookie fix the problem an i can access the front page with the rumors are. oh if this is in the wrong place move it

However, the search URL doesn't actually have the search terms in it, it comes up as [URL:...] with a string of numbers at the end. Oct 8, 2010I have a 21.5 inch iMac and am running Snow Leopard. I am familiar with Safe Mode and I understand that it does a disk check and repair and also does some cache clearing during a startup process that allows the user to startup into a system where certain kernel extensions, etc, are disabled to allow for trouble shooting. Then the user can do a restart and end up back in normal mode.
My question is whether starting up into Safe Mode could prove beneficial as some sort of routine maintenance?

Dec 2, 2010Does taking the front glass off of the imac display to clean behind it void the warranty? I am noticing some particles behind the glass and would just like to do it myself. I am still under warranty but i dont feel like bringing my imac to the store if i dont have to.

Also should it just be a simple charge and discharge or does it have to be a full calibration? Also what is the best method in maintaining a healthy battery? Should I cycle at least once a week and do a calibration every few months? Or should one cycle per month be fine? Also is it alright if the battery is fully charged and I have the plug-adaptor plugged in to my MacBook Pro while using it? Finally, is it true that over night the plug or when not in use and not charging the plug should be outside of the MacBook Pro?

May 14, 2010I have a MBP running Snow Leopard. The keyboard and trackpad became unresponsive, even though music was still streaming through Google Chrome. So I held down the power button to force shutdown. When something like this occurs, is there anything that should be done upon restarting the system again? Any general maintenance, system checks, etc? From my experience with Windows, not infrequently after similar scenarios, forced shutdown or crash, upon restart it'll automatically go into some type of disc scan. I wonder if anything similar occurs or is necessary with OSX. And lastly, when the system freezes like in my instance, if that's considered a freeze even though music was streaming all the while, is holding down the power button the only resolution? Are there no other safer alternatives to attempt first?
